"Come here! Come on you got to see this!" Amber urged as Nolan dragged himself out of bed.
"Fine. What do you want?"
"I found these journals while I was looking through one of the holes Winston made to see if I could find his 'lost' toy."
Winston was the family's dog that had a weird obsession will digging holes to find a toy that he never lost. Amber and Nolan's parents had just hid the toy because Winston was ripping it apart. Their parents didn't tell them because they thought that Amber and Nolan would try to give it back to Winston.
Nolan got out of bed and followed Amber to one of Winston's many holes.
"What are the journals about?" Nolan asked.
"Don't know, haven't read them yet," Amber replied.
When they got there, there were two bound books on the ground. They were labeled 'Journal 1' and 'Journal 2'. Nolan decided to take the books back to their house and read them there.
"Should we tell mom and dad?" Amber asked.
"No, I don't think so," Nolan replied. "If it gets really serious then we can't tell them."
Amber was convinced.
When they got home Amber and Nolan sat down in Nolan's room. Nolan opened to the first page of Journal 1 and started reading.

I'm not sure if anyone will ever read these, but if you are reading this, this is the story of human extinction...
