Chapter 1
Rey Palpatine huddled in the Falcon. She was tired and sore. Her broken lightsaber was in her hands and her staff near by.
She glanced at the staff and then at the split saber in her hands. She thought about it. The crystal was split. If she could lodge it in her staff, she could maybe create a saberstaff, like in the tales of old.
She got up and stepped over the sleeping Poe. He had insisted on becoming her body guard. She had tried to tell him she was not helpless but as the Alpha's beta, he was just trying to help. Rey grasped the staff and walked to the open door on the falcon.
She walked down to the beach and sat down cross legged. She closed her eyes and used the force to pull the crystal out of the broken saber. Once they were out, she held them in her palm and breathed deeply. She thought about her life. She thought about her absent family. She felt anger course through her quickly. She could feel the rage at being taken from Kylo. Kylo. She thought about him. She thought about him protecting her. Keeping her safe. She breathed deeply and felt a warm fuzzy dark sensation come over her.
She fell to the ground and opened her eyes. She looked at the crystals. They were around the same size. She then tore into her staff.
"Come on." She whispered to herself. The metal was cool on her fingers and the darkness of the night was calming. She heard a distant wolf cry and thanked the force that she was far away.
"Rey." A voice whispered in her ear. "Rey."
She was startled out of her Meditative state. The call was distant but yet so near. She quietly stood and looked around. Seeing no one, she sat back down and used the force to lift the staff and crystals.
She put the staff and crystals together. Rey felt a pull in the force, but paid no mind to it. She slowly opened her eyes and floated the saber to herself.
She grasped the center bar and flicked the blades on. The saber staff glowed a deep, dark crimson.
She swung the saber staff around over her head and then brought it in for her stance. She felt a familiar tug and an old voice came through her thoughts.
"Follow the path."
She stared hard at the woods. At that moment a pathway opened and she walked to it. A voice tugged her to it.
"Rey."
She wandered with her lightsaber leading the way.
She walked into the opening in the woods. Trees watched her walk past bowing slightly as if they knew their Empress was in their midst.
What Rey did not know is that Kylo had sent a distress cry to those who ran the woods. He wanted his Omega back and soon.
She walked to an opening where moonlight fell.
"My child." An elderly man walked out dressed in fine velvet.
Rey did not understand what came over her but she knelt. "Yes?"
"Is it really you?" He gently tipped her chin. "Reyna Palpatine." He gently kissed her face.
"Who are you?" She backed up.
"I am your grandfather." He gently touched her forehead.
"My grandfather?" She choked out. It couldn't be. She had only heard myths about the Palpatine line. Royalty was the word used to describe them.
"Yes. I am."
She hunched down and grasped her saber tighter. "No need to fear child, I will not harm you." The man reached out for her. She battled against the voice in her head that told her not to touch him.
She ran to him and hugged him. He smiled and stroked her head. "My Reyna. My Grandchild."
She closed her eyes and he gently tugged her in with him to the opening in the trees.
"Your Alpha wants you. My child he needs you." He breathed her in. "Go to him."
She opened her eyes and was alone in the clearing with the moonlight as her companion.
Alpha. Alpha.
Who was her Alpha? She thought it over.
One person stuck out. Kylo.
Kylo. Alpha. Mine.
She ran. Ran as fast as possible, right into the base. She looked around and saw a small fighter. She hopped in and closed the cockpit.
Her abdomen was on fire and her brain was on one person in general.
Alpha. She reached out for him.
Omega. He breathed to her. Come to me.
