May 15th  (career day)
(Emily's pov)
Today is career day I can't believe that I haven't picked anyone yet and I'm scared that my teacher will be mad at me that I didn't bring anyone in.

I got out of bed and started to grab clothes that was on my dresser that I picked out and then I went into the bathroom and started changing.

When I was done changing my mom came in and started combing my hair and putting it put my hair in pigtails.

As she was done we went to the kitchen to get breakfast.

"Good morning sweetie." My dad said with a smile as he put his cup on the table.

"Good morning." I replied with a smile.

"What do you want for breakfast?" My mom asked.

"I want some toast with  strawberry jam." I answered with a smile as I sat down on the chair.

My mom just smiled at me as she put two slices of bread in the toaster.

"Have you decided to bring to career day ?" My dad asked with a serious tone in his voice.

"No." I answered with a panic.

"I'll do it." My Mom volunteered.

"Are you sure ?" My dad asked.

"Yes I'm sure and besides the kids can learn something." My Mom answered with an annoyed tone in her voice.

"Thank you! Thank You!" I squealed as I ran over to my mom and hugged her.

"Your welcome sweetheart." My Mom said as she hugged me back.

"Do you have anything to bring in ?" My dad asked.

"I have my stethoscope in my bag and I took some lollipops  out of the storage room so I'll hand them out to the kids afterwards." My Mom responded as she placed the toast on a plate.

"Back to work I go." My dad sighed while looking at the clock on the while  as he quickly drank his coffee.

"I'll see you when you get  home." My Mom said as she handed him his car keys and  badge while smiling at him.

After she did that my Dad starts kissing her like she was Cinderella.

"Ewwww!" I said with a grossed out look on my face.

"Next time we should not kiss like that in front of Em like that again." My Mom warned as she let go of him.

"Agreed."  My dad said awkwardly as he walked over to me.

"Please don't kiss mommy like that: it's gross." I pleated while trying not to think about what I saw.

"I promise." My dad said as he did a pinky swear.

"Good." I replied as I gave him a hug.

While I was hugging my dad  he winked at my mom then he grabbed things and stared heading outside.

"Bye honey." My Mom said with a smile as she was putting some jam on my toast.

"Bye girls and I love you both so much." My dad replied as he started to walk outside.

As my Dad walked outside I walked over to the window and started waving goodbye to him then he waved back at me and  got into his car.

My mom handed me my toast that I wanted for breakfast with a glass of orange juice  then she sat across from me at the table while drinking her coffee.

We didn't really talk much because she was reading a magazine that had a bunch of words on the back with some girl holding a mirror.

After I was done eating my mom placed her magazine on the table then she grabbed my plate and put in the sink.

I grabbed my shoes and started putting them on then my mom tied my laces for me because it's so hard for me.  Hopefully I  will learn how to do that myself someday.

When mom finished tying my shoe laces she grabbed her car keys and purse  then we started heading outside.

Once we got inside the  car  my mom helped me with my seatbelt then she closed the door and ran into her seat.

"I can't wait to show your class my sethascope." My Mom said with a smile.

I just smiled at her.

"I hope that Gloria doesn't make fun of you or tries to make a joke." I sighed.

"You don't have to worry about that; I dealt with kids like her in my day." My Mom reassured me with a confident tone in her voice while she started the car.

"What did you do ?" I asked.

"I'll tell you about a time when I was around your age maybe older and hopefully this will help you in the future." My Mom answered.

"I got time." I said with  a giggle.

"When I was eight years old my sister and I always had a lemonade stand in the summer time. We weren't the popular kids on our street and we weren't getting a lot of quarters that  didn't come from your grandparents. There was this girl who lived across the street who always picked on me and one time when no one was looking after the stand the girl put bugs in our lemonade then for that whole summer we didn't get a single customer because she made a rumour that I put bugs in the lemonade.  But I did get my revenge  by getting my sister to switch the girl's  lemonade with  prune juice and put food colouring in it to make it  look yellow so no one would know the difference. She never found out then all of a sudden she started being nice to me and we became friends for a few years until she moved away."  My Mom explained while trying not to laugh while focusing her eyes on the road.

"What a story." I said with a  amazement.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it and hopefully that story will help you when Gloria and her friends  try to bully you." My Mom replied.

"Add prune juice to  her drink?" I asked.

"No. No. Sweetie; just  make yourself the stronger person not her." My Mom said while trying not to laugh.

"Okay mommy; but prune juice would of been funny." I giggled.

"It would but prune juice is not always going to help you; make yourself the stronger person." My Mom said with a serious tone in  her voice as she started to park her car.

"Thanks  mom, I'll remember that." I replied with a smile.

"I'm glad sweetie." My mom smiled as she took her seatbelt off.

I just smiled smiled at her as we got out of the car then we started walking towards the school. 

~ in school / In the classroom ~

We got inside and started walking to the classroom. 

There were a lot of people there and my mom went over to my friends mom who is a pilot.

"Looks like our mom's are getting along."  Lola said with a smile.

"Why wouldn't they?"  I asked

" I don't know  my mom don't have a lot of friends because she works a lot. Lola  sighed.

Before I could speak the teacher starts to talk.

"Okay boys and girls sit down at your tables." My teacher said with a smile.

"Since everyone is sat down I should start talking about career day." My teacher added.

"I want to go first!" Gloria chimed in with a big smile on her face.

"I haven't told everyone what's going to happen." My teacher said with a serious tone in her voice.

"Okay." Gloria sighed.

"Today we are going to go alphabetical order so it won't be so much complaining on who's going first and it will be fair for everyone."  My teacher explained as she grabbed her folder and opened it.

After my teacher said that Gloria crossed her arms and pouted.

"Okay Anna you are up."  My teacher added as she sat down at her desk.

The girl got out of her seat and her mother was with her.

Anna's mom is a chef and she brought in brownies for everyone.

Thankfully I don't have any allergies that mom hasn't told me about.

Her mom tells us about her job and how to make fancy food.

Then she answers some questions then she went back to her seat with  Anna.

After four kids in my class was done it's my turn.

"Emily it's your turn." My teacher smiled.

"Thank you miss." I replied with a smile as I walked in front of the class with my mom.

"Introduce your mom to the class." My teacher said gleefully.

"This is my mom Susan, she is a nurse at a children's hospital  and helps a lot of kids like me feel better every day." I said with a smile on my face while looking up at my mom.

"Thank you for the introduction Emily,  I have been a nurse since I was in my twenties and I always wanted to be come nurse to help sick people because I always loved helping people." My Mom explained with a smile.

"What kind of things do you do to help sick kids ?" My teacher asked.

"That's a good question; I help the doctor with checking the kids heart beat with my sethascope,  check their temperature and tell the doctor if the child needs any special treatments." My Mom explained.

"That's fascinating." My teacher beamed.

"I brought my sethascope in today for a show and tell because this thing is really cool it's like listening to the beat of your heart like a drum." My Mom said with a giggle.

My class laughed at that accept for Gloria.

"If you guys wants to get out your seats and see the sethascope but form a straight line in front of Mrs. Jepsen and she will be happy to show you."  My teacher ordered.

"Move move get out of my way; I wanna see!" Gloria demanded as she started pushing.

"Woah, woah, no pushing or you will stay in your seat." My teacher said with a serious tone in her voice.

"You cannot talk to my kid that way; If  she wants to see that thing let her." Gloria's mom said loudly,

My teacher, Gloria and her mom went out of the classroom while my mom starts to show the sethascope.

"That is so cool."  Connor said with amazement.

"It's pretty neat piece of equipment and I use it on a regular basis at the hospital." My Mom explained as she smiled at him.

Connor just smiled at her.

"Your mom is so cool Emily." Connor said as he high fives me.

"Thanks." I replied as I gave him a high five back.

After he high fives me he sits down in his seat.

"Who wants to go next?" My mom asked.

"Me! Me ! Me ! " Lola exclaimed.

"Alrighty then." My Mom said as she puts the sethascope back in her ear while placing the bottom on Lola.

"How does it sound ?"  Lola asked.

"It sounds good." My Mom answered with a smile.

Before Lola could say anything my teacher walked towards us.

"How is everything?" My teacher asked with a smile.

"It's going great and the kids are very well behaved." My Mom answered with a smile while taking the sethascope off.

"I think you should become a teacher for a day." My teacher laughed.

"That's nice of you to say but I'm happy with my job." My Mom replied with a  giggle.

"Give Emily's  mom a round of applause." My teacher said with a smile.

After my mom put her sethascope away  all of the kids clapped their hands for her.

I think I was the loudest out of everyone because my mom is my hero.

"Thank you boys and girls; I had a blast." My Mom said with a  smile.

All the kids smiled at her then my mom sat down on the chair  next to me.

"I think we might have time for one more." My teacher said as she started looking at the clock on the wall.

Everyone started clapping.

"Okay it's Gloria's turn." My teacher said gleefully.

"Finally!"  Gloria exclaimed as she dragged her mom out of her chair.

Gloria introduced her mom who is a  Broadway actress.

Before her mom spoke she brought in treats for the class.

The brownie had sprinkles on them but they aren't as good as my mom's.

Some kids in my class started asking Gloria's mom questions  and  she  answered them.

Before the teacher could ask a question the bell rang and it was time to go home.

Everyone started walking out of the room accept for Gloria and her mom.

We started go outside towards mom's  car.

When we got inside mom helped me with my seatbelt then  she closed the door and got to her seat.

"Looks like your class enjoyed having me." My Mom said proudly.

"I'm suprised." I replied with a smile.

"Me too; I didn't expect kids be so intrested by a nurse before." My Mom beamed.

After she said that she started to drive away from the school.

"I can't wait to go home." I said cheerfully.

"Me too." My Mom agreed as she started to keep her eyes on the road.

While my mom was driving I started to look at the clouds and the trees as she drove by  ans just smiling.

~five minutes past~

"Looks like we are home!" My Mom exclaimed.

"Daddy's outside!" I exclaimed as I saw him walk towards the car.

"That's odd; I thought he was working over night ?" My mom asked with a confused tone in her voice as she took her seatbelt off.

My dad comes over and opens my door.

"Hi daddy!" I exclaimed with a smile.

"Hi sweetie." My dad said with a smile as he took my seatbelt off.

"How come your home early ?"  My mom asked with a confused look on her face.

"I'll tell you later but for now I'm so happy you too are home." My dad answered as he got me out of my car and slammed it.

My mom just nodded her head and got out of the car.

We started walking towards the house.

"How did career day  go?" My dad asked.

"It went supringly well." My Mom answered.

"That's great." My dad said with a smile.

"I didn't think a bunch of kids would be so amazed over my job." My Mom replied with a suprised tone in her voice.

"Well your job is inspiring and because of you some of those kids will become future nurses and doctors." My dad said as he was walking closer to mom.

"You can say the same thing with your job; you put bad people away  and save people." My Mom replied with a smile as she started to kiss his cheek.

"You guys gonna feed me or what ?" I asked as I heard my stomach growl while  interrupting my dad's next move.

"I guess we should give you something to eat." My dad chuckled with an awkward tone in his voice as he walked over to the fridge.

My dad opens the fridge and grabbed a box of burgers.

"Looks like we are having hamburgers for supper tonight." My Mom said.

"Yay!" I cheered as I ran over to the tv.

As supper was being cooked  my mom and I started watching some cartoons until it was ready.

~ 15 minutes went by ~

"Okay ladies; supper is done." My dad said proudly as he started to  put the food on the table.

"Yay!" I cheered gleefully as I got off the couch.

After I got to the table I sat down across from my mom while my dad was on the end of the table.

"Someday we should have  barbeque this summer." My Mom said with a  smile as wiped her face with a napkin.

"That would be great: I hope I'm not working too late." My dad replied as he started to drink some of his soda.

"I want a barbeque and have some of my friends over too." I said with a smile.

"Great idea Em; but just wait and see for now." My dad replied.

"Okay daddy." I nodded my head as I continued eating my burger.

"When you are done eating; I'm going to give you a bath."  My Mom said with a soft voice.

"Oh really ?" My dad asked with a smirk.

"I'm not talking to you; I'm talking about Emily." My Mom sighed as she hit my dad on the shoulder.

"Okay I'm sorry for misunderstanding: but I'll take a rain check on the bath." My dad apologised as he got out of his chair and winked at  my mom.

My mom just rolls her eyes at him.

As I finished eating my supper then I grabbed my pjs and went into the bathroom.

"Why does Dad always have to say stuff like that around me ?" I asked with a confused look on my face.

"Don't worry about him: he only does that just to annoy me." My Mom answered as she started adjust the water.

"I just wish he would stop and do it when I'm not here." I sighed.

"Your dad is a very expressive man when it comes to  people in his life and I know it's annoying and gross but maybe someday when your older and you meet someone that would sweep you off your feet then you would understand why you dad does that." My Mom explained while trying not to sound harsh.

I just start to get into the bathtub when she said that.

"Where's my rubber duckie? I asked  while looking around.

"He's hiding behind your bubble bath." My Mom answered as she gave me my rubber duck.

"Rubber duckie; you're the one,  you make bath time lots of fun!"  I sang while playing with my toy.

"Gotta love that sesame street." My Mom giggled.

I just nodded my head at her as I continued to play with my rubber duck.

My mom just washes my hair then she handed me a face cloth with some  fruity body wash.

Then I start to wash myself.

After  I was done I closed my eyes then my mom threw some water over my head.

When she was done with my hair she washed my back and threw some water on my back.

As I was finished washing myself  it was time to get out of the bathtub  and dry off.

I started drying off with some towels then I started to put some pjs on.

When I was done putting my pjs on with some help from mom I started to brush my teeth.

Mom put the tooth paste on my talking smurfette tooth brush then I start to brush my teeth happily.

~Five minutes went by ~

As I finished brushing my teeth I gave my Dad a hug and a kiss goodnight  then he gave me one back while I was walking towards my bedroom.

"I'm so tired." My Mom yawned as she started putting blankets over me as I got into bed.

"Me too." I replied while yawing. 

"I'm going to read you a quick bedtime story then this mama is going to get some sleep." My Mom said as she grabbed a book off my bookshelf.

The book she grabbed was snow white and the seven dwarfs.

When my mom was almost finished  reading I felt my eyes start to close.

"Snow white and the Prince went away from the  forest and lived happily ever after: the end." My Mom said as she  closed the book.

"Goodnight mommy." I replied with a yawn.

"Goodnight sweetie." My Mom yawned as she gave me a kiss on the cheek.

My mom put the book on the book shelf then she walked over to the door and turned off the light and left the room.

Hey guys omg! It has been a very long time since I have updated.  I'm  so terribly sorry for the lack updates and  that it takes me  like  a century to  update. 😭

But my life has been crazy lately and barely have any time to write anything. 😭
