Chapter 14- Alive
"Thranduil!" a scream ripped from my throat. My love was walking straight for a trap. The young prince was smiling contentedly at his daring father. Thranduil and his father walked straight into the territory that was sectioned off very clearly as orc infested. Why wasn't he running? Why was he not responding to my shouts?
I ran as quickly as I could but I could not prevent what was playing out in front of me.
I sat up panting and screaming. White flashed in front of me and Thranduil's wide blue eyes pierced my own.
"Alavara." Lord Elrond came into view. "How are you feeling?" He pushed me gently back down to the sheets. Thranduil walked swiftly to my side and picked up my hand.
"I-I..." I trailed off. "Legolas?" I whispered. Thranduil smiled slightly.
"I am here Emig." He walked over to me. I tried to rise from my position but Thranduil's steady hand kept me down. "No, please remain laying down."
"What did I do?" I looked up at Thranduil. Memories tried to flash but all I could see was a white light and the blackness of the dark.
"You sent the creatures back to hell." Elrond spoke for Thranduil. Thranduil nodded. "I have only witnessed it once before, it has only been done by the Lady Galadriel." His wide eyes told you he was serious. "It was incredible."
I extended a weak, shaking hand to the older king. He grasped it gently and pressed a light kiss to it. My son and lover watched in admiration, as a respectful moment of silence passed between us. "Thank you my lord."
He nodded. "I will leave you to your men." He bowed and whispered something to Thranduil.
Legolas crumpled at my side and buried his soft head into my neck. "Oh emig." He whispered. I gently stroked his hair and smiled as Thranduil walked over to us.
"Alavara, you almost died." He picked my hand up and kissed it. "I almost lost you." His voice dropped down an octave.
"I know." I whispered. "But you didn't."
"Emig." Legolas pleaded. "Please stay here and rest."
"Legolas Greenleaf, I am your mother and I will get up if I need to." I hot headedly retorted.
"No you will not." Thranduil pushed me down.
I sighed and covered my face. "Fine. But when we get married I refuse-"
"You're getting married?" Legolas's face came into view.
"Yes son." Thranduil smiled. "Alavara and I are."
"YES!" He shouted and did a little jig. I giggled and then touched my head. A round of dizziness swept through my body.
"When your mother is better, we will have the ceremony." Thranduil patted my hand and Legolas took a seat near me.
"I can't wait." He smiled and kissed my cheek.
"Me either son me either." Thranduil's voice was the last I heard as I drifted into sleepiness.
