Chapter 9
André
After the baseball game today, may victory party sina Logan sa penthouse. I was supposed to be there, but, Grandpapa suddenly called me and wanted to meet at his favorite fancy restaurant.
It's been a while since the last time I saw him. Of course, I couldn't say no to him. I owed him my life. If not for Grandpapa, baka matagal ko na ring sinamahan si Geno sa kabilang buhay.
With my back resting on a purple velvet seat, I scanned the restaurant inside the five-star hotel. Most of the people here were wearing business suits and fancy clothes with their fake smiles and fake faces.
Yet, here I was, with my most casual racing jacket and unkempt hair. Naglagay lang ako ng deospray bago ako pumunta dito. I, at least, wanted to smell good.
I ran a hand through my messy locks as I looked at the time on my phone.
Sabi ni Grandpapa eight o' clock sharp ang meeting time. I knew how he hated people who were late. That's why I rushed to come here all the way from the university.
But, half an hour passed by, and still, I couldn't see any trace of him.
Sighing, I decided to call the old man. I was about to press his contact number, when suddenly, I saw a message from one of my fratmates, Darwin.
"Commander, may kailangan kang malaman."
I squinted upon seeing the message and replied back, "What is it?"
"Walang record ng isang Charleston Buenavista sa Architecture Department."
My mind went in a state of confusion. "What the fuck do you mean?" I replied.
"It means hindi totoo ang identity niya."
I gripped my phone tight, trying to process what I just found out. "Then, who the hell is he?"
Breathing in and out, I tried to keep my composure.
Whoever he was, I must say he's got a lot of guts to fool everyone... especially fooling me.
I suddenly wondered why he would do such a thing. Kung ano man ang rason niya, it was still unacceptable.
Charleston Buenavista... or whoever you are... I hope you're ready for the consequences.
"Axe," the old man's voice calling me out using my old nickname broke me from my trance as I noticed him already taking a seat across mine on our reserved table.
"Papi," I greeted him, forcing a smile on my lips.
Grandpapa removed the hat over his head, exposing his balding gray hairs. He was wearing a white long-sleeved with suspenders connected to his brown trousers.
"How are you, papi?" I spoke again once he settled on his seat. He was with our longtime butler, Alphonse, who just stood behind him.
"When are you gonna get married, Axe?"
Ah, here we go again. It was always like this. Everytime na magkikita kami ni grandpapa, ito palagi ang tanong niya sa akin. And his only reason of forcing me to getting married was because he wanted to make sure that I chose the right wife for myself.
"So?" He spoke again, this time, his eyes were poking into my soul.
I burst out into a laughter. "Papi, I don't even have a girlfriend," I reasoned out.
"I know you have plenty of girls. I may be old, but I'm not stupid," Grandpapa stated, shooting his thick brows at me.
Taking the wineglass from the table, I took a sip from it, trying to form an excuse in my head.
"If you're not gonna find a wife, I'm sure your father will find one for you," he suddenly mentioned.
I almost choked on my drink with the mention of a prospective wife under my father's order. "Papi, I'm only twenty three," I whined.
"I was twenty two when I married your grandmama," he said, as if he hasn't told me this before.
"That's because you got arranged with her," I answered.
"Exactly. But, I learned to love her. I'm sure you will do the same."
I shook my head. "I don't even know what love is."
Grandpapa let out a long and deep sigh. "You will feel it... your whole being will yearn for it."
"That's so fucking cliché." I chuckled again. It sounded ridiculous just even hearing it.
"Hindi ka naniniwala?" Grandpapa suddenly asked again.
"Papi, I'm fine not having a wife," I answered simply. Love was a luxury, but it wasn't something I would want to have. I already had enough of it.
"You're saying that now, but what if someone comes along?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "If someone comes along, I'll take her, but not as a wife."
"What then? As your forever fuck buddy?"
My eyes widened at his choice of words. "Papi, don't say bad words!"
Grandpapa laughed this time. "Axe, I'm sure someone will come and change your mind. Sana lang buhay pa ako when that time comes."
I sighed. I hated it everytime he'd bring up the death card. "Papi, didn't you say you don't want to die without seeing me getting married?"
"Axe, tumatanda na ako. That's why I'm pushing you to get married now."
I just shook my head at the old man. "Sorry, papi. But, I'm not getting married."
After meeting with Grandpapa, I proceeded to the penthouse where the party was still ongoing.
"Dré!" Logan greeted me the moment he saw me inside. Mukhang kanina pa sila umiinom. I could already tell that Logan was drunk as fuck with the way he couldn't even open his eyes completely.
"Cap, lasing ka na ah!" I tapped his back, catching him by the shoulder. Damn it. This guy was too heavy.
"San ka galing, dre?" Logan asked, trying to balance himself beside me.
"I met grandpapa," I answered, dragging him by the arms and putting him down on one of the sofa chairs in the lounge area.
Logan nodded, closing his eyes. Yeah, he's dead drunk.
Sighing, I decided to just carry him on my back all the way to his room. His weight was definitely killing my back, but I had to save my friend.
The moment I opened Logan's room, I saw a couple eating each other's faces, and I was pretty sure they were going to be naked anytime soon if I didn't show up.
"Sorry, peeps. Sa labas nalang kayo," I told the couple and they immediately dashed out of the room.
Matapos kong ibaba si Logan sa kama niya, I closed his door to make sure no one would bother him inside.
I tried searching for my other friends inside the penthouse. But, I only saw some fratmates and baseball players still hanging out and getting drunk.
Just then, someone pulled me by the arm, pinning me on the wall next to the kitchen area.
"André, my baby," a woman's voice tickled my ear as she licked it with her tongue.
I recognized her face, but I couldn't point out her name. I flashed her a small smile.
"My lady," I mumbled, masking the fact that I forgot her name. But, I remembered her to be the founder of "LK Club."
"I missed you," she confessed.
I touched her lips with my index finger. "I missed you, too," I lied. I had to, because I didn't want to break her fantasy.
She opened her mouth, sucking my finger. "Mmm..." she moaned as she closed her eyes.
I gently moved my finger inside her mouth, giving her the satisfaction that she wanted. In that same moment, I slid my other hand up her mini skirt, caressing her clit over her mesh G-String underwear.
"Mmm, baby," she continued to mumble as I felt her hand groping for my member under my pants.
I could feel myself wanting more from her, but it was nothing, but lust. It was far from the love that grandpapa was telling me about.
Who even invented love? For all I knew, it was just something people created to make themselves feel better.
"André, I think I'm cumming..." she told me after few minutes.
Already? I thought to myself. I hadn't even entered her yet.
I smirked, knowing that I won again. Damn, I always win. I'm way too good in this.
"Baby, can we continue in your room?" she asked.
"Of course, my lady." I carried her weight infront of me as I walked towards my room.
"André," someone suddenly called out, interrupting me from walking.
Turning to the owner of the voice, I saw my fratmate, Rance panting hard, looking at me. "This better be important," I muttered.
"Si Charles... pinagtutulungan nina Evan ngayon," Rance stated in a hurried manner.
The mere mention of Charleston's name brought so many emotions in my system. Naalala ko bigla ang text message ni Darwin sa akin earlier bago ko i-meet si grandpapa.
They just told me that Charleston was lying about his identity. I was mad at the fact that he lied.
But, now that Rance was telling me that Charleston was being punished because of it, I couldn't help but worry.
"Where are they?" I growled, unconsciously dropping the lady from my arms.
"André, baby, iiwan mo na ako?" she whined.
"Sorry, my lady. May emergency lang," I explained, kissing her lips.
My eyes went back to Rance, waiting for his answer. "So? Nasan nga sila?"
"Hindi ko alam kung saan nila siya dinala. Tsaka, Commander, Charlemaigne pala ang totoong pangalan niya. Charlemaigne Sandos."
I froze upon hearing that information. I was notorious for messing up people's faces with their names, but I specifically remember a Charlemaigne Sandos. She's Fina's friend.
I took a deep breath, messing my hair with one hand. "Putain!"
Damn it. I hope she is okay.
