Part 2: Tam's POV
I shove my hands in my pockets and keep my head down.
I ignore all the whispers and giggles around me.
I don't give the whisperers and the gigglers the satisfaction of raising my head to glare at them.
Ever since Linh was shipped off to some snobby boarding school in Paris, school's been a lot harder.
She was always the better twin.
I throw my locker open and dump all my books into my bags and slam it closed.
"Oooh, someone's in a mood." My worst tormentor, Stina Heks, smirks.
"Good-for-nothing, filthy piece of trash." She hisses.
I ignore her, although it's kinda hard, especially with all these people watching.
Just then, Biana Vacker, the prettiest and richest girl in school walks by, rolling her eyes and muttering something underneath her breath.
Stina's confidence is shaken, but I can see that her pride has taken a hit. "What'd you say, B?"
Biana sighs. "First of all, its Biana, not B. Second of all, hasn't anybody ever told you to shut your mouth? Your morning breath is stinking up the hallway."
With closer inspection, I see dark circles underneath Biana's eyes. She obviously doesn't have any energy to put up with Stina's gimmicks today, so something's probably wrong.
Stina harrumphs and stomped away angrily.
Biana leaned closer. "You're Tam, right?"
I nod. Apparently, I lose my ability to speak when I'm next to pretty girls."
"Can I trust you?"
"U-Uh, yeah. Well, you kinda saved me, so I guess I'm indebted to you."
Biana smiled. "Meet me under the bleachers after school, then."
Was I going to go? Of course I was. When the prettiest girl in school invites you someplace, you'd have to be crazy to refuse.
Bye!
