Final chapter
“Anyway, depending on the test results, he is Seokjin. His alter hasn’t surfaced after the accident.”
Jimin nodded listening to the doctor.
“So he is safe now,” furrowing his brows he asked,” But how?”
“Technically Seokjin was dead for about three minutes the night of his accident wasn’t he? During those it is possible that the alter believed that Seokjin died on the spot. But since it’s a psychological issue, we have to be alert for an otherwise situation. Until now, he is perfectly fine.”
Jimin nodded. Then a smile enlightened his face. He had never felt this happy in a long time.
“So can he leave with me?” he asked eagerly.
“I guess that can be arranged Park Jimin-ssi.”
The doctor put forward his arm to shake Jimin’s. Halting at the last second he said,
”but make sure he takes his medicine and attends his monthly appointments.”
Jimin beamed as he shook his hand.
“Yes, I’ll make sure of that!”
-------
His usual childish sweet smile spread across his face as he walked out and saw Jimin. He ran to the shorter one and hugged him tight.
“Two years hyung! How do you feel to finally be out?” Jimin asked as they walked to the door, pulling on his white button down.
Jin put his arm around Jimin’s shoulder as he smiled and said,” I have never been better!”
“Wow!” Jin exclaimed as he saw Jimin’s car that waited outside.
“So you are a big-shot now, huh?” Jin asked as he got in.
“Hyung, I’m the youngest CEO in this business,”
he said as he straightened the collar of the pale blue shirt under his crisp suit. They looked at each other and at once broke into a laughter.
“Home sir?” his driver asked.
Jin gave him an impressed look raising his eyebrows as he mouthed 'sir'.
“Home it is,” Jimin replied as he smiled and playfully hit his hyung’s arm.
Soon they reached their destination. Eyes wide, Jin got out of the car. It should not have been a surprise that the ‘youngest CEO’ owned a luxurious house.
“There are so much surprises awaiting you hyung,” Jimin chuckled as they climbed the stairs that led them into the house.
Two servants took their coat and Jin’s luggage as soon as they walked in. Jin followed Jimin, unsure of where he was leading him. As he followed Jimin to a beautiful room, which he assumed is the study, he gasped.
“HYUNG!”
A large number of human beings ran to him at the same time. He stumbled backwards but kept his balance. Except Jimin, all the other boys were on him like barnacles on a whale. Feeling left out, Jimin finally joined them.
“I cannot believe you all flew all the way!” Jin said for the umpteenth time as they settled down.
“All of you have grown up so much!”
He pointed at Kookie,
”You are taller!”
And then at Yoongi,
”You have jobs!”
Jin listed the things he missed.
“Not just that,” Yoongi smiled as he raised his ring finger. A ring sparkled in front of his eyes.
“You are married?” Jin’s muffled voice was heard as he covered his mouth when he spoke.
Yoongi shook his head laughing,
“Engaged!”
“Wow!”
“To Soran!”
“WOW!! Congratulations Yoongi-ah!!” Jin stood up and embraced him.
“We had decided to get married only after you'd discharged,” Yoongi added to which Jin just replied by tightening the hug. Feeling overwhelmed he stood so for a few seconds.
After he broke the hug, he patted Joon’s shoulder and said,
“So you two will be in-laws huh?”
Joon chuckled as he nodded.
“And?” Jin asked as he sat again on the couch.
“I’ll go next!” Hoseok stood up cheerfully and walked to the centre of the room. He did a little step and said,
“You are looking at one of the new choreographers of an up and coming dance troop! We start practices next week! In this town!”
“Congrats hyung!” Kookie clapped for him from the side, but his eyes stole a peek at a certain someone.
Jin eyed him and then at Tae. Something felt different, and yet somethings remained unchanged. Jin smiled to himself.
“And…” Hoseok raised his shirt a little exposing his abs.
“WHOA!” Jin’s reaction made a once cheerful Hoseok even happier.
------
They spent the whole afternoon catching up. Jin found it fascinating that Kookie, who was now in college was majoring in dance like Hoseok.
Yoongi already worked in the city. Along with Joon, they were making arrangements for his family and Yoongi’s stepmom to move into the city. She had filed for a divorce from his dad.
Jin had already attended Tae’s art exhibition several months ago with Jimin.
“I can’t believe we are all shifting here. So there absolutely won’t be anyone we know back in our place?” he asked as he munched on a biscuit.
“Who’d want to stay there or even visit after whatever happened?” Tae asked in return.
“I’ll definitely miss the Bowl…” Jin mumbled.
“Yeah, I won’t,” Joon said bluntly. When the others suddenly looked at him he continued.
“Why did you stay in the facility for two years hyung? Jimin said that the doctor mentioned you could’ve been out earlier!” Joon spoke again, feeling a little annoyed.
Jin sighed. He sipped his coffee and said,
“I just wanted to make sure I was completely okay.”
Joon smiled faintly. He sat by Jin and patted his back after pulling him into a side hug.
“Two years and no black outs. Feels great!” Jin smiled at him.
“How did the cases go?” Jin asked looking around at the rest.
“They closed it off soon. Lack of evidence. Even the tyre had no fingerprints,” it was Yoongi who answered.
“It’s a good thing I always kept it spotlessly clean,” Joon half-joked when Jimin eyed him weirdly.
”It was a priced possession of mine! Not all of us can afford a Skull board at the age of eight!”
Jimin laughed at his answer.
“Do you think they are still searching for…uhh…‘him’?” Hoseok asked still scared to pronounce a certain someone’s name.
“I don’t think so. If they were, they’d connect it to the last incident,” Kookie said as he took another biscuit.
“Thank god for small town lazy cops,” Tae murmured under his breath to which Kookie chuckled.
-------
That night, they decided to sleep together in Jimin’s room. A leg and an arm over the next one’s body, it was impossible to identify who was who among the six of them. Joon chuckled as he opened the door and walked into the room and saw the mess they were.
Hearing the sound, a tiny head with plump lips raised itself. With one eye open Jimin asked,
“Hyung? Why are you up?”
“I hadn’t slept yet. I was going to,” he said as he lay by Jimin.
“Okay,” Jimin smiled as he closed his eyes and he put his arm around the waist of the tallest one.
Joon chuckled at the gesture as his eyes slowly closed and he drifted off to sleep.

I strolled slowly as it came into view. The sky above me was clear. Spotless. There was no one around.
And then I saw him at the tallest step. With his diary on his lap and pen in his hand, he was staring at the setting sun, silhouette of the Eiffel tower in front of it, showed off its beauty. When he saw me he waved.
Upon hearing a laugh, I turned my head and saw them. Two tall thin boys sitting side by side. One of them wrapped in a baby blue blanket had the most childish laugh ever. He pulled the cheeks of the tall yet tiny one beside him who sat holding a teddy. Such a baby. When they saw me smile, they smiled back.
Another sound grabbed my attention and I saw two boys on the steps. One was dancing goofily making flying noises with a paper crane, while the paler one laughed at his goofiness holding onto a cross that hung around his neck. As the former one sat beside the latter, they saw me and waved me over.
As I advanced my steps in their direction, a hand touched my shoulder. I turned around and saw a tall boy sucking on a lollipop. His beanie covered his head, exposing his forehead and an eyebrow with a scar.
He looked at my arm and I realised that I was holding onto a skate board. It had peculiar skull designs on it. As he pulled out the lollipop from his mouth, he smiled and said,
“Let’s begin.”
