Regard for girl again then swelled
And once again the people held
Respect for one who spared a life
Though man was one who waged his strife

Against her home against her kin
Yet still his life refused to end
The girl though doing such was right
And sure would stay the other spite

From daring fall on home she kept
Yet still of vengeance great bereft
She chose to go and great forbear
Yet anything that most would dare.

And warring men again to war
Did turn there mind as present chore.
And many days did fall and rise
In land in which they current bide.

Then sudden warning trump did sound
And danger all around was found.
And out to wall did Kelan fly
He built to coming fate defy

Below a host of coming foes
Did grant the people all their woe
And none could stop their angry charge
For fear had made their hearts yet hard.

And Kelan sent to fetch the man
Who first had made this warring plan.
A boy he grabbed and message gave
In hopes that such might stay the grave

For both the folk who present meet
And stave away a battling feat.
And child did run to give the tale
To Varik old but never frail.

And Kelan high on wall now spoke
And using force above the host
Projects his words so things a heard
In strictest voice that might unnerve

The host below who came to wall
And present at the bottom sprawl.

"What bids you men to bring your grief
And try to enter in this fief
For none here harmed or cheated men
Who come to many lives yet end."

And forth from crowd the hunter came
That men as former pris'ner claimed.

"We know your plan to stop your foe
Who sure would turn and grant us woe
When seeing place they long did raid
Not any good or food now gave.

For surely bandits turn their head
To greater game when underfed.
Don't think we know not will you hold
To keep your lives by losing gold."

And Kelan great resents the man
Who longs a thorn in all his plans
But still he stills his heart as bid  
For foes is playing role he's give.

And long they banter back and forth
And worser threats they both do court.
Until at last did Varik come
His presence like a ancient thrum
