A Mission Part 2
And forth in night did Jubie lead
The other three command did heed
Of man who better knew the ways
Of leaf and branch to which their gave.
Through treetops Jubie swung his weight
With spryness gave like creatures gate.
Below in haste the others trail
In fear their speed his path might fail.
But Jubie slowed when need was gave
So questing chore for all be made.
And long they went until at last
At morn they rest from weary task.
"The sun does rise and shade does flee
That men for present chore will need
To hide ourselves from villain's eyes
So men at length they fail to spy.
The closer men to bandit's draw
The more we'll heed the nightly fall.'
So long at length in shrub they rest
To ready selves for coming test.
And day to twilight quickly passed
And soon again they'll go to task.
Then Candor stands with handle deigned
That long ago from axe he claimed.
And starts to swing and practice form
That many years of training worn.
And Cable's eyes are drawn to such
And curious questions swell yet much
But still he holds his tongue at thing
That man as weapons forth does bring.
Then up they rose and forth they went
Along the course on path their sent.
And many nights this sight recurs
And every time he's left unnerved
To go with man who only owns
And uses stick to craft yet hone.
So finally speaks youngish man
To caste aspersions on Candor's plan.
"You gallant ways beyond reproach
Have made my words yet hard to broach.
My honor held I fear I stain
When such a speech to man I deign.
But still I fear the thing you keep
To help you well in dueling feats
Will little serve the man who leads
At present time who's words we heed."
And Candor looked at handsome face
That owned a fair and knightly grace
To nod his head and deem him stand
As man himself at time did plan.
"Then test my blade if man should fear
My strength should fail when dangers near."
And Cable reluctant stand at time
Yet still some comfort man must find.
And know the strength companion keeps
Is great enough for warring feats...
An axe handle instead of a lightsaber a tired trope...Ashram Dreyus
