A Mission
Inside the hut at length they spoke
And place of bandits men now note
Along with many paths to take
And each did join the whole debate.
And first of all did Towan speak
To tell his thoughts to rest of meet.
"In haste we men should stealthy go
To place the bandits makes abode
And slay the men we current find
To solve for all this current bind.
I'll go and drive my purple blade
Into their hearts while still they lay
Inside the night not giving chance
For men to rise to warring stance."
But Kelan spoke and turned away
The thought that Towan current gave.
"No little men do know of place
You want to seek in quickest haste.
If arms we take yet high do fail
How then shall men survive the gale.
For sure at quickest haste they'd fall
Below on village lowly sprawled.
Though wall we works not present made
Nor men of village prepared to wage
A war at present hour in time
Some other course we men must find."
The Candor spoke and told his thoughts
And plan he made now quickly wrought.
"At least some knowledge men should gain
As stoke of luck this thing yet deigned.
Let some yet go to place they held
That Jubie Storm at length beheld.
And learn what course that men should take
To try and alter present fate."
And Kelan nods then spoke aloud
The question held by all the crowd.
"I dare not leave for work I do
The whole of plane we hold behooves
What men shall go and venture forth
To gain for rest a good report."
And Jubie spoke and told his peace
And said "I own the greatest ease
With which to go beneath the shade
Of trees and hide myself away."
Then cable spoke at length at time
And said "to task myself I'll bind
Not ever let this thing be said
My allies left alone yet bled
While back in comfort Cable rest
My gallantry will meet the test."
Then Tarlson spoke and deigned he too
Though sad in voice his words were true.
"My help I lend to Sabio is near
The end of course on which we veered
This use I'm better put at time
That weakness men may try to find."
And Sabio prompt by words he spoke
Excused himself from course they smote.
"Though nearly healed at present time
I fear I worsen present bind.
And lose the weeks of work I made
If fare to quick to task I'm gave.
Instead I'll rest of days of war
And keep myself for warring chore."
And Candor followed telling well
"A level head on shoulders dwell
I'll go and keep these three in line
So less's the troubles fellows find."
Then Towan starts to speak and choked
By words that Varik quickly smote.
"I think that Towan behind should stay
For sake of guard that needs be made
I'm far to old to go on path
Or wage in place a greater wrath.
To keep this village safe from arms
Should any fall and bring alarm
On head of men while rest away
To place the bandits current stay.
And Saubio's hurt to great to help
Defend this place we've current dwelt.
Should Towan leave and journey forth
Then Kelans only man of worth
To stay the hand of those who come
With battle heart and angry thrum.
Yet Towan here is brave and strong
He'll hold this fort for days yet long."
And Towan glowed at elder's praise
Not noting eyes where twinkles made.
For Varik knew these dual truths
And use them both to highest ruth.
That Towan's blood to firy flows
To hide himself in bandits bode
And easy man is give to praise
That any other's downward lays
Before his feet and twist himself
To lend that man whatever help
He deems that person sure to need
And all for sake of ego heed.
So Towan spoke with haughty tone
That only little boy does own
When granted well such high esteem
That elder Varik current deems.
"I deem it well what Varik says
Behind to guard the weak I'll stay.
And lend my strength those in need
As justice call does surely heed."
And spoke as though the words he gave
Was always thing that man would say.
And all at present rolled their eyes
But still they knew the time was nigh
And four did rise and leave in night
To go about their spying plight.
