Death by Knife

I looked at the ceiling, furrowing my eyebrows. It was pale blue, the right color, but there was something off. I sat up, gasping as the cool air of my room brushed against my chest. My ear twitched as I heard a very feminine scream of fear coming from next door. I bolted out of bed, gasping again as I felt the rush of air. I looked down and let out a deep growl. I was muscly and not very small anymore. I heard my door open and I quickly slipped into the bathroom, looking at my face. I had a chiseled jawline, and my hair was chopped short and looked leafy. It was now auburn, however, and I lost all the teal.

I grabbed a towel, wrapping it around my waist as a very feminine Hunter walked into the bathroom. I would've covered my mouth to stop laughter, but I as scared as he looked right now. "H-Hunter? What the hell happened to us?" He gulped visibly.

"I-I don't know, Rai. I just woke up like this." I nodded.

"I did too, Hunter." My voice was deep and sounded a lot like masculine Hunter's. He looked at me, cobalt eyes pleading.

"I don't like it, Rai." He stomped his foot, his bootcuts sliding down a tad. He pulled them back up, and I chuckled.

"Neither do I, but let's get you some clothes that'll fit." He nodded, standing back to give me access to my closet. I walked to it, pulling the doors open and walking inside. I grabbed a blue T-shirt, jeans, and undergarments. I tossed them to him, waving him to my bathroom. He nodded, walking inside.

A few minutes later, he walked back out, his male clothes bundled under his arm. He passed them to me, and I walked to the bathroom and put them on. They fit perfectly. I walked out, sighing as I sat on my bed. "So what now?" He asked. I twitched my mouth into the form of a smile before standing back up.

"Let's ask Jonah." He nodded reluctantly, following behind me. Walking to the elevator, I smirked to myself. This was gonna be fun.

Jonah looked towards the one way glass, as if anticipating us. I growled deeply, making Hunter jump. "He know we're here." He nodded, sighing.

"Let's pay him a visit, hmm?" I nodded.

"Let's." I walked to the door, opening it. Jonah smirked as I walked in.

"Good morning, by beau-" he cut himself off and started again from that point. "Raiyne. Good morning, Brute." I growled, stepping forward. He stumbled over himself trying to amend it yet again. "I-I meant, uh, Hunter." He glared at me while he said this, and I growled, pulling him up by the collar.

"H-Have I ever told you you're...uh...handsome, I guess now, when you're angry?" I growled.

"Do you want me to shove you against a wall?"

He blinked. "I'll take that as a yes." I sighed, closing my eyes. I mentally counted to ten before looking at Jonah again.

"Did you do this?" I asked. He gulped before swinging his leg back and I heard Hunter yell before I felt pain explode right in my weakest point as of now. I immediately dropped Jonah, doubling over and groaning in pain. I heard the unmistakeable sound of another body dropping, and was automatically glad I didn't have my weapons and that the door was shut. I managed to open my eyes and saw Hunter standing over Jonah's unconscious body, a tranquilizer dart sticking out of the prone man's neck. I grit my teeth, groaning again. Hunter shot Jonah again before walking over and resting his hand on my side.

"One to ten," he muttered. I looked up at him.

"You're a guy. I've kicked you there. You tell me," I groaned. Hunter groaned also, wincing.

"Ouch," he said. I nodded, managing to stand up. I breathed out slowly, allowing myself to straighten. He looked up at my hair, running his hand through it.

"It's not black," he stated. I smirked.

"This is natural, Hunter. You of all people should know that." He nodded, his shoulder length hair moving with his head.

I glanced behind him, to Jonah. The brute was stirring already. I pushed Hunter behind me, guarding him as Jonah stood up.

"What the hell...?" I muttered. I glanced over my shoulder at Hunter. "I thought you put two shots into him?" He nodded, eyebrows furrowed. Jonah advanced on us, too quickly for someone who had roughly eight milliliters of tranquilizer in his system. I only had a knife, hidden in the rear belt loop of my jeans, and Hunter only had his tranquilizer gun. He had it out, hands placed strategically for balance.

Jonah saw Hunter's hands on the gun and smirked. "It didn't work last time, Hunter. What in your tiny brain makes you think that it will work this time?" I heard Hunter growl and almost laughed. Jonah getting up with a double dose of tranquilizer was too terrifying.

"If I put more into you, it might." Hunter sounded menacing. Jonah laughed.

"You've never studied the Book, have you?" I startled. The quick recovery from the tranquilizer and the fast healing from where I'd cut his finger off the other day.

"The Earth Brooch," I breathed out. Jonah smiled.

"Someone's been studying." I growled deeply, putting the pieces together.

"So you did do this?" I asked. He chuckled.

"Of course I did! Manipulation of the body is one of my favorite powers of the Brooch." I sighed, rubbing my forehead.

"Why?" His smile looked downright devilish now.

"Drama. Everyone loves a little drama now and then. It keeps one sane when one is imprisoned by the love of their life." I heard Hunter gag a little.

"You're pathetic," I murmured. He quit monologuing and lunged at me. With quick reflexes, I pulled my knife from my belt loop and readied myself, feeling the 140-some-odd-pound weight that was Jonah hit me. I fell backwards, warm liquid running down the hilt of my knife in between my fingers. The hilt was slippery with blood, and Jonah was embedded on the knife. I grunted, twisting the knife. I heard Jonah groan, and I smirked. I strengthened my grip on the knife, bringing it closer to my chest. Blood spurted on my tank top, and I grunted. Jonah reached a hand between us, taking my hand in his. He managed to flip the knife, and I gasped as I felt the tip against my chest. He dug in, effectively stabbing me in the chest. I breathed deeply, a guttural scream escaping my lips. I heard Hunter scream my name, and I saw Jonah smirking. I spat in his eye, flipping him off of me. I grasped the hilt of my knife again, biting my lip as I pulled it out, letting out another guttural scream. Jonah was getting up, skin hanging from his chest. I turned onto my side, not looking anywhere but my intended target. I reeled my hand back, gasping as the pain rippled through my chest. I threw the knife, collapsing onto my back as it struck its intended target-Jonah's throat.
