Chapter 5- Training (Healer)

Shadow's POV

After we finished drinking water, Eclipse and I went back to our den. The training Silver gave us was really tiring. When we reached our den, I flopped onto my stomach, exhausted. Training did take a lot of energy. Just as we were about to sleep, Shade came to get us again.

"Again?! Really?" I cried.

"Don't worry. It won't be as tiring as the training you did with Silver. Hopefully." Silver assured.

I felt relieved when he said it wouldn't be as tiring, but then I deadpanned when he said 'hopefully'.

"And you got to remember attitude. I'm forgiving, so I'll let that slide past, but if you had that attitude with Storm, he would probably kick you out, so beware!" Shade informed.

"Okay." I mumbled, following Shade.

We reached a small cave, and we walked inside. There was the smell of herbs, and it reminded me of going to the doctor.

"This is the Healer's den. You'll be learning how to use herbs, how to identify them, and how to treat wounds properly. You will be trained by Frost, and remember not to annoy him. He tends to get a bit grumpy sometimes." Shade warned us, walking out of the den.

I groaned as he left, knowing that we would be going through this for a few days at least. A few minutes later, a white wolf came in, and I immediately knew that it was this "Frost" wolf. His pelt was as white as the snow in winter.

"Hello." Frost said, sitting down in the den.

"Hi." Eclipse and I both replied together.

"You two are Shadow and Eclipse?" He asked.

"Yes." I answered.

"Then come with me." Frost responded.

We followed Frost as he went deeper into his cave den, and stopped when we were in front of a shelf of herbs.

"This is where I keep all of my herbs. They are one of the most important things in this pack. They are our second priority, the first being everyone." Frost stated, walking around the supplies.

"So, you're going to teach us how to heal?" I asked.

"Of course I am! Now, let's begin shall we?" Frost exclaimed.

"Great..." I mumbled.

Frost taught us about how cobwebs are put over wounds to stop bleeding. He explained which pressure point to press to stop bleeding. All the herbs and wound healing confused us both, so I knew that we most likely would not be getting this rank. Surprisingly, looking at herbs and listening to Frost took a lot out of us. It made us tired, plus the fact that we had trained with Silver a few hours ago didn't make it any better. Even Frost looked tired explaining, probably because Eclipse and I didn't really understand a lot of the techniques, so he had to explain it all over again. Once Frost finished our training, we walked out his den, and padded towards our den. I was really excited for food. We hadn't eaten in a few hours, and it was already the Afternoon. I was seriously starving. How do the wolves even survive without eating this long? Either I'm really out of shape, or all the wolves are in top condition. Once we reached our den, we decided to go for some food. In the food pile, there was some deer meat, and a deer leg. I chose the deer leg. Surprisingly, the meat tasted amazing. It literally tasted like the food a 5 star restaurant would give. It was probably because we were wolves now, and raw meat tasted delectable. I devoured my deer leg, finishing it in a few minutes. I guess you could say I 'wolfed' it down! Okay yeah, let's not do that. No more horrible puns. When we finished eating, we walked back to our den. Hopefully this time they give us some time to rest, and not make us train right away. I flopped down into my stomach, utterly exhausted. I closed my eyes, and tried to take a nap, but it felt like my body wouldn't let me. Eventually, I felt drowsy and managed to sleep. But then, Shade woke us up again.
"Time for more training!" He exclaimed cheerily.
"WHHYYYYYY!?!?!?" I whined, standing up.
Why did we have to train so much? Oh right, we're going to be promoted in a few days after all our training. The training just felt so tiring, and my limbs felt heavy. I dragged myself towards Shade as he led us towards another round of training. This time, we would be training as Guards. Hopefully it wouldn't be too tiring, but I completely doubted it.

2 chapters in a day?! Are you proud of me mom? No? Okay then... Shadow and Eclipse will be training for the next few chapters, so be ready. Buh-bye!!!
