Chapter Twenty-Three: Darkness Within

I have no sense of time right now, as the spell required me to continue it as I started chanting. So, I couldn't stop or lose concentration. The spell would end when the three of them come back, so my sense of time had drifted away. I could only feel the darkness within me, how it felt so good how it temps me. But all this was in my mind...

I snap open my eyes to see that I was in my old house in this town. How everything was the same, the old wooden doors, the windows. How the fire place felt so warm, so warm in fact I could feel the tingle on my skin as I was inches from it. I smile to myself as this was so nice.

"Alice," a sweet voice spoken from behind me, but it was only small. My face lit up in shock but held a soft expression, as I turn to see my sister standing there. This time around, not blood or torn to shreds, just her normal self.

"Eliza?" I spoke as my breath hitched, as the sight of her was so overwhelming. She only gave me a cheeky smile, as children do, tears fell freely. But she just came forward, and I found myself kneeling to her level, as her mucky blonde hair swayed this way. Once she was close enough, she places her little hands on my cheeks and began to rub away the tears. But I leaned into her touch as it felt so real, like I was actually seeing her and feeling her.

"My little Sister," my voice crocked as she left her hands on my cheeks, as I look into her beautiful blue eyes. She only smiles at me, warmly. I blinked away the tears, but as I reopened my eyes her eyes were red like blood, her teeth extended into sharp fangs. Her hands went to my neck and gripped so hard that it began to cut oxygen off from my lungs. As I tried to breath, I blinked again, but she had changed appearance, but she wasn't my Sister anymore.

The thing had turned into a massive wolf. The Alpha that had killed my family. I was suddenly off the ground as it held me by my neck with one hand. The Alpha was covered in fur, it was like Peter's Alpha form.

"I'm not your Sister," the voice was dark and distorted, as he gives a wicked laugh. I wiggled my feet but it was pointless. "I'm a manifestation of you," my eyes widened as he spoke the worlds. Before my eyes, the creature had shifted into me, it was like looking into a mirror. "See, I'm you. I'm the monster you keep under lock and key," her face showed my true face. Her canine teeth extended into razor-sharp fangs, the sclera of her eyes turned blood-red, dark veins appeared under them. "Why keep me locked up for so long, you know you love the taste of blood that comes straight from the vein... How easy it slides down your throat, how it's so warm and juicy," Mirror me states, as she was taunting me on how I used to feed on human blood before I switched to blood bags...

"Your wrong," I choked out as her true face didn't vanish.

"We'll see," she smirks devilishly as before I knew it she came forward and bit into my neck, draining me of all of my blood. I became weak, and my eyes began to slowly shut as I couldn't keep them open for much longer...

Suddenly, I jolted in place as I snapped open my eyes and just saw complete darkness surrounding me. I've survived so much worse than this. I fought to be here today, I fought back the darkness within me for nearly four-hundred years. This wasn't going to be my down fall...Just then, I see a bright white light in the distance, it glowing faintly, like someone was shining it towards me. As I squint my eyes at it, it was like a ball of light and soon enough I began to walk too it...

"You can't out run your demons, Alice!" My mirror-self yells as I shot my head around to look at her, miles behind. "You know what they say! Once a monster! Always a monster!" Her voice had distorted and turned into something evil, before running at me. It was like a freaking nightmare.

But I began to run towards the bright light that was getting closer and closer, but I could feel that myself was gaining up with me. But I gained more speed and extended my arm and my hand out ready to touch the ball of light that was glowing massively.

Suddenly, there was a tug from my other hand, as I turn to look at myself holding my hand, covered in all black, like darkness. She wore a wicked smirk, but I turn to look at the glowing light on the other-side. My finger touching it, as I was between light and dark. Good and Evil. My mirror-self began to absorb into me, starting with my fingertips, but as she did that, the white ball of light did the same.

But the feeling overwhelmed me, and my eyes closed as I felt like I was falling and suddenly I hit the ground...

..........................................

I jolt upright, as I took in my surroundings as I took deep heavy breaths as I see Scott, Stiles and Allison soaking wet staring at me with worry. I look down to my arms to see veins, black as coal. But they began to recede down my arms, and back to my finger tips before they vanished. My eyes drifted closed for a moment, as my legs wobbled and they knew that. Scott was fast on his toes and reached my side and catched me as I fell back into his arms.

"Alice?! Are you all right?!" Scott had asked, clearly worried. I could feel a substance on my under my nose, and down my neck, like it had dried over time.

"I'll... Be...Fine," I took short breaths as I was weak from the spell. But I was too weak to keep my eyes open, and my body began to shut down, as I lent further back into Scott's warm embrace...

Then under I went...

I didn't even get chance to know if the spell worked, and where the Nemeton was...

........................

I slowly opened my eyes to feel that I was on a hard surface. But by the ceiling I was still in the Clinic. My vision blurry as I've been out of it for awhile. Suddenly, Deaton peers over me, staring down at me with a expression of relief.

"Alice you're awake," his voice kind and gentle to me. "The spell you performed took it's toll on you. You'll be physically weak for a few hours," Deaton had said, as I was processing the words. I sat up slowly, as he helped me along the way, as I dangled my feet over the metal table.

"Where is everyone," I had asked, my tone groggy as I was still coming round.

"They left to find their parents," he replied quickly, as this wasn't going to be over and they might need my help. Without another word, I pushed myself down from the table, but my legs gave way when I hit the floor, luckily, Deaton had caught me in his arms. I could hear his blood pump through his body, I could hear his heart beat, I could smell the blood in his. My head turned to look at his neck, to see his pulse. All I wanted to do was to rip open his artery. I cocked my head away from his gaze as I could feel my true face to come on show...

"I need to go," I state through clenched teeth, as I was holding myself back... I pulled myself free from his hold and made my way pass him, as he didn't stop me. I stumbled outside and towards my car, luckily I had packed a few blood-bags and placed them in the boot of my car. Once I made it, I had gotten the boot open, and rumbled in the back to find them. I placed my hand on one of the bag, as it was cold but also warm. It didn't matter, I tore open the top and placed my lips around the hole, and started to suck the blood.

I relished in the taste as I squeezed the bag in the middle, making more blood flow into my mouth. Within moments, the bag was empty and my hunger was satisfied. I felt my strong come back to me, but my magic was going to be out of it for a few hours. I took a few deep breaths as I got my balance back, but I needed to find the rest of the gang as the Lunar Eclipse starts soon.

I gotten into the car, as a wave of images came to my mind, it was so confusing. I just see a spiral on a wall it was like it was made by claws, and I think it was. But it means something to wolves as they make their own things up...

As I snap open my eyes they widened as I wasn't in the Clinic's car park anymore. I see the warehouse up the banking as this was some freaky shit. But I see the bright shine of my necklace slowly dimming, but I smiled at myself as it was helping me. I push open the door and made my way inside, as the night had changed to a warm colour, but as I cock my gaze to the Moon, the Lunar Eclipse had already started, and the winds were mental, lighting strike across the sky.

I rushed up to the warehouse and stood in the doorway to see Derek holding Jennifer who looked weak. "Then you do it," she had spoken, as I see Deucalion on the floor with blood on his head and the ground. "Kill him,"

"No," Derek had shook his head slightly at her.

"What?" She asked surprised by his comment.

"Like my mother used to say, I'm a predator-" Derek began as his hand went to the side of her neck. "-But I don't have to be a killer," I couldn't help but grow a smile on my face at his statement. But it was true. His hand turned to her neck and gripped it tightly. As Jennifer began to gasp. "Let them go," Derek states more forcefully.

But Jennifer was getting her strength back, and grabbed onto Derek and slung him into a board as it break in half as he drops. Jennifer wasn't done, as she came over and began to slap him hard. But I didn't come here to watch him die.

"Jennifer!" I yelled into the warehouse, making her stop in her tracks and letting go of Derek as she spins to face me as I entered further into the warehouse.

As he eyes connected to mine, she held a surprised but shocked look. "You can't be here," she states, her voice so sure of itself. "I killed you." Yeah, she did just that. Snapped my neck, and it's no fun dying and coming back to life. But I remained quite as I just stared at her.

"Let them go," I replied, demanding her to let Melissa, Chris and the Sheriff, as I stepped closer to her.

"I thought you would understand. Nature would want this, to keep it in balance," Jennifer replied, trying to pull the Nature card. I think everyone loves pulling that card on me...

"Killing Innocent people isn't in Nature's will. You seek power for someone who did you wrong and you want revenge." I spat angrily at her. "I know what it's like to lose your sense of self, and I know what Alphas can do. What damage they can cause. My family is dead because of one, but I've learnt to deal with my grief and anger and killing one won't change anything," I spoke more gentle this time around as I came closer to Jennifer, who's expression began to soften.

But something clicked inside of her, and the sudden change of expression it wasn't good. "No!" She spat at me and throw out her hand towards me as an energy was released. I had no time to react as I was hit and was sent flying backwards to the spiral that was engraved on the wall.

I was left dazed, but the Luna Eclipse was coming to an end. As the warm colour faded from the sky and the cold colour had greeted us once again.

"Your fifteen minutes are up," Derek spoke, as I look up to see that his eyes are Blue, meaning he wasn't an Alpha anymore. He overpowers Jennifer and throws her to the ground. As I stood up, she grabs some powder and throws it into the air and it makes a circle around her.

"Like I told you, Derek, either you or the parents. Well, I guess I'll just have to take them now," Jennifer states as she was annoyed that her plan had gone tits up. Mountain ash doesn't stop me from passing through it. I rushed forward to enter the circle, but as I came to the black line to cross, I was jolted back slightly, as it wouldn't let me pass. I tried again but the outcome was the same. "This is also Witch-proof. You can't enter nor your magic-" Jennifer gave me a look over her shoulder before tuning back to Scott as I made my way over to stand to the left of him. "-And in a few minutes they'll be dead and I won't need a lunar eclipse even to kill a Demon Wolf,"

I watched Jennifer as I couldn't do much, my magic was out at the moment, I couldn't get in the circle to kill her. So all hope seemed lost. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Scott raise both his hands, ready to push on the barrier.

"You've tried this before, Scott," Jennifer spoke with a smug look on her face. "I don't remember you having much success," But Scott didn't listen, as he puts his hands on the barrier and started to push through it, using all of his strength to fight through the barrier. Within moments, he had stepped a couple of inches forward as the barrier was lighting up like a Christmas tree. Different shades of blue glistened off of him and the dome that was the barrier.

Derek and I watched amazed at this massive feat that Scott was proving. Jennifer looked more worried with the second as Scott placed one whole foot inside the barrier and got the strength to put the other foot inside. Suddenly, the barrier glows bright for a moment, and then explodes. Jennifer falls on her ass and the mountain ash where Scott was breaking in had dispersed and left a black line.

Scott stood there all mighty as Jennifer scrambles back in fright and shock. "How did you do that?" She rushes out, amazed by the power behind him.

"I'm an Alpha now," Scott states all manly, kind of got my heart fluttering. "Whatever you're doing to cause the storm, make it stop, or I'll kill you myself," Scott had threatened her. "I don't care what it does to the colour of my eyes," Scott states strongly

"It won't change the colour of mine, so allow me," Deucalion states coldly, as he passes Scott and got his claws out and when he was close enough slashes at Jennifer's neck, silting it open as warm blood came leaking out. Her appearance changes to a horrible one, as she began to choke on her blood and fall back to the ground.

I could hear that the storm outside was coming to a stop and I sighed in relief. Scott quickly grabs his phone and calls Stiles, to make sure they were safe. Derek went to sit on a box so he can relax for a moment. "Hey. You okay?" Scott had asked through the line.

"Yeah, we're okay. We're all okay. How 'bout you? Are you okay?" I hear Stiles state as I made a warm smile on my face.

"Sort of," Scott had looked between me and Derek.

"Well, you think you can come get us?" Stiles had asked as I imagine they were stuck somewhere.

"We will Stiles boo-boo," I teased as I stood next to Scott. I was happy that their parents weren't dead.

"Great, okay. Um, bring a ladder,"  I crack a smile at Stiles reply as Scott ended the call, as Scott would know where to find them.
