Chapter Twenty-Five: Spell Affect

It's been a few weeks since what happened at the Nemeton. Everyone went back to their normal lives, though our lives have never been normal, but it was back on track. I had gotten changed for School, as I was seeing this whole High-school plan through, right till the end. After I had seen Derek, he had give me a text saying he's going to go away from Beacon Hill for awhile with his Sister. I was sad, sure, but he needed space from this all and I couldn't blame him.
I graced the halls of Beacon Hill High, as I shut my locker after grabbing some books for today's lessons. As I look down the hall to the double door, I see Allison on the other-side, staring at the wall. I frowned as I walk forward to the doors, but as the bell had rung she had turned on her heels and ran through them, her complexion white, like she had just seen a ghost. The hall was busy as students went to their classes and chattered among each other.
"Allison, are you okay?" I had asked, as she finally met my eyes. She nodded quickly to me, but I could tell that she held fear in her eyes, and she didn't look right.
"You're not Allison, I can tell," I squinted my eyes slightly at her, as I focused on her eyes. Something was wrong, and I bet it has to do something with that spell I performed for them. It was bound to happen sooner or later... "You began to see things, haven't you?" Her eyes went wide as she didn't know how I knew that. "That means the other two will be as well," I sighed as I grabbed her wrist and started to pull her with me, she didn't get a word in.
I wondered around for Scott and Stiles, and asked a few students if they had seen them. Even asked Lydia, who had tagged along as this was urgent. So, I quickly gave her a brief summary of what was happening. Which lead Allison, Lydia, and I to the field and under that walk-way, where I saw Jennifer and Derek kissing that time... Which now grosses me out...
I see Scott and Stiles talking to one another, from here Scott looked like he had seen a ghost as well. "How'd you know?" Scott had asked, as I came into the back end of their conversation, but it wasn't hard to guess what they were talking about.
We all approached them and they heard us coming as Stiles spun around and stood next to Scott to look at us. "Because it's happening to all three of you," I glance to Allison and then to the boys. "Which is never a good sign," I state, as another bell rings, but we all went on the move and back up to the school. Scott and Stiles had told us their problems with this, and it didn't sound good...
As we came to some double doors, Lydia had went first. "Well, well-" she began as she push open both doors. "-Look who's no longer the crazy one," Lydia had replied smugly as she was enjoying this.
"We're not crazy," Allison reply as we enter the hallway.
"Hallucinating? Sleep paralysis? Yeah, you guys are fine," Lydia states as she looks at the three of them.
"We did die and come back to life. That's gotta have some side effects, right?" Scott had replied, as his gaze went over to me, looking for answers. I only have like a limited amount of knowledge.
"I suppose. The spell was dangerous and will have effects on you all," I replied to Scott, trying to ease his caution. But I had truly had no idea what could happen to them. Suddenly, the school bell rings again..
"We keep an eye on each other? Okay," Stiles had spoke looking to Scott and Allison, before taking his gaze to Lydia. "And Lydia, stop enjoying this so much," she just smiled sweetly, as we headed to our class. Which was art for me, which I was perfect at...
....................................
Our class had finished, I found my way wondering the halls to see Scott and Stiles talking to one another, but as I cast my gaze to meet Scott's eyes, they were blood-red and glowing. I frown as Stiles pushes Scott's head down, and dodges students as they make their way into a classroom. I quickly picked up my pace, but I had knocked into another student. But as I brush passed her, I felt a weird feeling wash over me. I took my gaze over my shoulder to look at the girl, who eyes gazed into mine, as she wore a confused expression.
But I turned back around and entered the classroom Stiles and Scott entered, to see Scott taken off his jacket and his eyes glowing red and his claws out. "Step back!" He screams at us, as he didn't want us to get hurt.
"Control Scott!" I raised my voice to her but in a good-way just to make him remember. Suddenly, he uses his claws to dig into his palms, as blood started to rush down his arm and onto the floor. I froze in place as the blood was so much, I could smell the iron, I could practically taste it on the tip of my tongue. But I composed myself as Scott started to kneel onto the floor as blood continued to drip. Once he was on the floor, he lifts his fingers from his palms, as Stiles and I walk forward, staring at him, as his features were back to normal. Stiles crouches down and stares at Scott.
"Pain makes you human," Scott replies as his breath was short and heavy.
"Scott, this isn't just in our heads. This is real," Stiles states, as I had feared the worse. "And it's starting to get bad for me too. I'm not just having nightmare. I'm having these dreams where I have to literally scream myself awake. And sometimes I'm not even sure if I'm ever actually waking up," Stiles had spoke what's happened to him more. It sounded super bad for Stiles, and I felt for him.
"What do you mean?" I asked softly, as his gaze met mine for a second.
"Do you know how you can tell if you're dreaming? You can't read in dreams," Stiles had spoken after a moment. "More and more, the past few days, I've been having trouble reading. It's like I can't see the words. I can't put the letters in order," what Stiles were explaining was new to me, I had no idea what side-effects it would have on the three of them. I feel like I was the lucky one and got off the hook...
"Like even now?" Scott had asked, his eyes full of concern for his best friend. Stiles stood slowly, as he looks to the board and the posters around us.
"I can't read a thing," he spoke after a moment. Something within me sucker-punched my gut, as a rush of sickness had washed over me. I quickly put my hand over my mouth as I felt like I was going to be sick and held down the sick...
"Alice, are you all right?" Scott had asked, as Stiles began to help him off the ground. All I could do was nod at his response as I gulp back the rising sick...But that didn't stop, the feeling of it started to rise again, but I couldn't help this in. I quickly darted over to the bin that was thankfully, in the classroom. I grabbed it and started to throw up within, the hurling and the vomit that came out. But as the feeling washed away, I pulled back to see it wasn't vomit, but blood...
I frowned as I heard the boys asking if I was all right, but I didn't answer. I just stared at the blood in the bin, as I could feel it down my chin, like I had just fed savagely on someone.
"Invisique," I spoke gentle, as I imagine the boys were in shock at the sudden disappearance they just witnessed. I had also taken the bin with me, because I didn't want them to see it.
"Alice! Alice!" Both of them said in union, to try and get me to stay and talk, but I pushed off on my legs and went into vamp-speed, and I sped out of the school and home...
.........................................................
The next day had approached, I had wore the same outfit as yesterday but ditched the leather jacket, as today was going to be warm. The events that happened in the classroom seemed to be odd, as I had no physical illness when I had gotten home and I didn't throw up and blood. It was so strange and unnatural for me to do... But I brushed it off as it was a one time thing.
"Alice, you with us?" Allison's voice had entered my ear drums, as I was lost in thought and gazed out in the open. We were all sat on a bench, Allison was on my right first, then there was Isaac. Lydia on my left, and opposite us was Scott and Stiles.
"Okay, so what happens to a person who has a near-death experience and comes out of it seeing things?" Scott had began, as we needed to know what was going on.
"And is unable to tell what's real or not?" Stiles had added his comment to the back end of Scott's comment.
"And is being haunted by demonic visions of dead relatives?" Allison had spoken as she was seeing visions of her dead Aunt that killed me. All their heads slowly turned to look at me, like I knew the answer to their questions.
I pulled a 'really' look at them, as they were fishing for answers that I didn't have. "Why you looking at me? I might be in tune with Nature, but I have no idea," I rushed out, as I looked between them all. I had stared out again, my hearing went from the current conversation, but Stiles and Isaac was having a go at each other.
"Hi," a voice had pulled me from my thoughts as we all cocked our heads to the new girl. "Hi, sorry. I couldn't help overhearing what you guys were talking about. And I think I actually might know what you're talking about," we all stare at her like she was already part of team. "There's a Tibetan word for it. It's called 'Bardo'. It literally means 'in-between state'. The state between life and death," the girl states to us, giving this information as it was new news to us. Huh, you do learn something new everyday...
"And what do they call you?" Lydia had pipped up at the side of me, her gaze at the Japanese girl.
"Kira," Scott had spoken before she could get a chance too, but Kira just smiles at him as everyone else cock their heads at him and frown in confusion on how he knew. "She's in our History class," Scott had said, knowing how he knew her name.
"So are you talking Bardo in Tibetan Buddhism or Indian?" Lydia had asked, wanting to know more about this Bardo.
"Either, I guess," Kira spoke as she sits on the edge of the bench, next to Stiles. "But all the stuff you guys were just saying? All that happens in Bardo. There are different progressive states where you can have hallucinations. Some you see, some you just hear. And you can be visited by peaceful and wrathful deities," Kira knew her stuff, I'll give her that.
"Wrathful deities? And what are those?" Isaac had pipped up, as he had no clue, but neither did any of us.
"Like demons," Kira replied, with a smile on her face as she was pleaded that we were asking questions.
"Demons," Stiles states not surprised by it. "Why not?" His gaze had turned to the rest of us as we knew what he was implying.
"Hold on, if there are different progressive states, then what's the last one?" Allison had asked, and I felt that this was the important question of them all.
"Death. You die," Kira had said, as I took my gaze to Allison as I was worried for her, and the boys. This wasn't good, maybe I could find something in my books about 'Bardo'
