Chapter Twenty-Eight: AL.I.CE

I began to come too, my head throbbing, my mouth dry. My eyes began to open slowly, I had currently blurred vision, but my head was titled down. I lifted my head up slowly, as my neck had cramped up. I've must been in this position for awhile. Once my neck was straight and my head was up, I could see that I was in a substation of some kind. But I blinked a few times, to clear the blur from my vision.

My vision began to clear as I turn my head to look around. I become more aware of my surroundings and what was going on. I had notice that it was now night time, meaning I've been asleep for awhile. I was also restrained, I was tied to the metal fence within a room. Cable of wire had been tied around me, my hands were also tied together and I felt duct tape over my mouth, restraining myself from speaking.

I wiggle myself against my restraints, but I was too weak from whatever he had gave me, probably a local anaesthetic, but it was strong. I struggled against the restraints for a few more moments but I had given up as my strength wasn't at the fullest and I was weak. Footsteps echoed through the building, as I shot my head to a archway at the other end of the room.

Barrow had emerged, his eyes staring at me as he came closer. He wore a glow on his left hand, like he was going to handle something electrical. He had closed in, and stood in front of me, looking down at me. I kept strong as I've been in situations like these before so it wasn't anything knew, plus I highly doubt he knows I'm a vampire...

"Such a pretty girl," he states, as he crouches down, to get to my level. "I bet your wondering why you're here? Well I can tell you, you're in for a shocking surprise," he cracks a laugh to himself as it was a mental one. But I stare at him with no emotion, as his laughter came to an end. "Not very talkative?" I just squinted my eyes at him, as they held a death glare. But without any warning, he had gotten the edge of the tape on my mouth and pulled with one quick slash. Pulling the duct tape off from my mouth.

I bite my bottom lip, stopping myself from groaning as that hurt like hell, but I kept up the tough girl act. "Do that again, you'll have no hands," I state to him with a very convincing look. He just cocks an eyebrow up for a moment, as his hand reaches out to stroke my cheek, I turn away but I could still feel his hand rub against. "What do you want with me?" I ask as his hand began to slowly recline back, as my head turned back to face him.

"Chaos," he replied bluntly and held no emotion. He was sure one lose screw. He stood back up and began to walk away, as I had no clue what he meant by the single word. I struggled against the restraints as he had gone through the archway to somewhere else.

I struggled some more, but the more I struggled the more I felt weak and drained. I stopped and just sat there, tied to the fence and waited for Barrow to come back. I become more aware, and I came back to myself. I closed my eyes, and began to focus, listening in throughout the substation. All I could pick up was electricity buzzing and crackling, so it was hard to pick up on anything else. But as I thought all hope was lost, I had heard heavy breathing, but it was Barrow. I picked up bits and pieces of what he was talking about, but then Kira's voice came to ear. Then my hearing was drowned out with the electricity sounds.

I reopen my eyes, to see that the lights in the room began to flicker, like something big was gonna happen. Within moments, they flicker more angrily, and in seconds they blow, and a console near by had spat off electricity. I turned away from the flickering electricity, but once suddenly the substation had went dark, meaning it overloaded.

"Help!" I scream at the top of my lungs, as I wiggled at the restraints. "Help!" I yelled again, I could hear my voice echo through the building. I focused in on heavy footsteps, running through the hallways. Just then, I cock my gaze to the archway to see the one person I wanted to see right now and that was Scott McCall, coming to the rescue. His eyes widened in shock and horror as he runs at me.

"Alice, are you all right?!" He rushes out as he was at my side, removing my restraints from the fence.

"Never better," I replied back, but it came off a bit cocky, but Scott had freed me from my bounds and helped me stand to my feet. "Thank you, Scott," I gave him a warm smile, as he gave me a grin.

"Kira was also taken, and the cops are on their way," Scott had said, giving me little information about this. But I didn't understand why Barrow wanted me and Kira, it was so weird. But at least no one died... Scott looks to me as he wanted to speak, but he was holding back, his expression gave it away.

"What is it Scott?" I ask him, as my eyes connected to his brown warm ones.If he wasn't telling me something it's either to protect me or it's bad... My gaze pushed further as he gave in and pulls something out of his jean pocket.

"This was on Barrow," he hands me a piece of plain yellow sticky-note, but as I took it off his hands, I had read what was on it. It was my name, but there was three different numbers; Thirteen, Fifty-Three and Fifty-Eight. Beside each one was letters, spelling my name. My gaze went up from the sticky-note to meet Scott's eyes, though we didn't speak, we both knew that this was a start of something that will trouble us...

............................................................

Scott, Stiles, Kira, Lydia and I were all in the Sheriff's office with Scott's father who was an FBI agent. I sat on the couch in the middle of Scott and Stiles, and Kira was at the left of Scott. We all told Agent McCall our stories, about what had happened.

"So when did you get there?" He asked, his eyes scanning over at Stiles.

"At the same time," Stiles had replied bluntly.

"At the same time as who?" Agent McCall retorted back, as his hands were on the desk as he was leaning.

"At the same time as me," Scott had answered looking to his Father.

"By coincidence?" Agent McCall asked, as he wasn't believing our story at this moment in time or he just wanted to iron out the kinks.

"What do you mean coincidence?" Stiles had clapped back at him.

"That's what I'm asking you. The two of you arrived at the same time. Was that coincidence?" Agent McCall pressed, as he wanted answers and he wanted them now.

"Are you asking me?" Scott had replied, as they were trying to confusion their father.

"I think he's asking me," Stiles had pipped up again.

"I think he's asking the both of you," Lydia had now added her comment. I softly sigh to myself and lean back to the leather couch as I watched this unfold.

"Okay, let me answer the questions," Agent McCall states, but we all look at him weirdly as he gotten mixed up with all this tongue  tied stuff. "Let me ask the questions," he had fixed his statement. "Just so I have this absolutely clear," he whips out his notepad that he's been making comments on. "Barrow was hiding in the chemistry closet at the school. Someone left him a coded message on the blackboard telling him to kill Kira. We also found a sticky note on Barrow, telling him to kill Alice as well. Barrow had taken Alice first then went after Kira, and took them both to a power substation and tied them both up with the intent of electrocuting them, which blacked out the entire town,"

Agent McCall had finished, summing up the whole story. I had been told by Lydia and Stiles that Kira's name was on a blackboard in the school which spelt her name in Elements from the Periodic table. Scott was the one who told me that there was a sticky note with my name on but also in the same form, using elements from the Periodic table.

"Sounds about right," Stiles had replied, as it was on that sort of track.

"How did you know he'd take them to a power station?" Agent McCall asked another question, as this was so pointless. I wish I could just compel his ass to forget.

"Well, 'cause he was an electrical engineer. So where else would he take them?" Stiles had answered back.

"That's one hell of a deduction there, Stiles," Scott's father states, as he knew that this was crap we were telling him.

"Yeah, what can I say? I take after my pops. He's in law enforcement," Stiles was quick with the wit, as I see him wink at his Dad and point at him. Making the Sheriff snort as he found it funny. But Agent McCall didn't find it all amusing as he turns his head over his shoulder to look at the Sheriff.

"Stiles, just, uh... Just answer the man," The Sheriff states to his son, as he wanted to move this along.

"We made a good guess,"

"What were the two of you doing?" Agent McCall had directed that question to Scott and Kira, as they were both together before she was taken.

"Eating Sushi,"
"Eating Pizza"

Kira had said one thing, and Scott had said another, as we all took our gazes to them. As they both turned to face each other for a moment.

"Eating Pizza,"
"Eating Sushi,"

They had now said the opposite of what they had said a few seconds ago. I groaned mentally, as this couldn't possibly get any worse.

"Eating sushi and pizza," they both said in sync as we finally got there.

"You believe this?" Agent McCall had asked the Sheriff.

"To be honest, I hadn't believed a word Stiles has said since he learned how to speak. But I think these kids found themselves in the right place at the right time and them girls sitting there are very lucky for it," the Sheriff spoke as his eyes moved from me to Kira.

"Alice, Kira, is that how you both remember it," Agent McCall asks, as he eyes up both of us.

"Yes, One-Hundred percent," I spoke softly, and calmly as we couldn't tell him how the gang found us. All eyes went to Kira, as she needed to say the same.

"Yes," Kira spoke after a moment, as we were all basically on the edge of our seats. "Can I have my phone back," she asks, but it made me frown, why did she want her phone back at this moment in time.

"Sorry, no," Agent McCall replies, as this was the end of our statements, so he allowed us to go. I was the first one out of the building as I needed to get home and get clean, and cleanse myself from dirt and Barrow's touch. But why did he have my name on a sticky-note, someone must have gave it him. There were two different hand-writings, so someone must have gave him it.

This didn't sit well with me...
