Chapter One: A Feathery Welcome Back

Today was the day, Beacon Hill high was back in session. The summer had came to an end, I had heard that Allison came back from France with her Father, I also know that they moved our from that big house, to an apartment as they didn't need all that family space anymore.

As for my magic, I feel like I've grown into it more, just like I did when I was mortal. I also felt some what more powerful within myself, like the spell's I did for the gang before, made me bleed, but I feel like I was much stronger than before.

I sigh deeply, as I drink out from a blood bag, my mind racing with possibilities the day would come out as. Seeing my friends after four months of not being in contact, I did tell them that I wanted the summer to figure things out, Witch wise...

I pulled the blood bag from my lips, as the bag was now emptied, and I didn't notice, too busy deep in thought. I throw the bag into a bin which was filled to the rim with blood bags. Luckily, I was already dressed for the day and didn't spill any blood on me. I grab my black over the shoulder bag, and left the house, as I decided to take in nature and walk to school. Well vamp-speed to the school, so I would be on time...

.........................................................

I arrived at the school entrance, and tons of freshmen began their high school year. I took a deep breath, as I walked through the double doors of the school, to go too my locker, as it was still next to Allison.

As I walked down the hallway, to see my locker area deserted, meaning Allison didn't arrive yet. I sigh in relief, as I reach my locker and put my combination in and the lock popped open. I collected my notebook from my locker as I had English first. As I was pulling things out of my locker, I hear the locker beside me pop open, and Lydia slum against the left locker next to me.

"Alice, so good to see you again," Lydia began, as I made eye contact with her. "What's it been, four months?" She states with sarcasm laced in her voice. I can sense that she was mocking the situation, because I haven't spoken to them for the four months.

"Ha-ha, very funny, Lydia," I began as I closed my locker. "I wanted to focus on certain things, and nice to see you too," I replied, as I look over to Allison, who gather her books.

"You too, Allison," I state with a smile on my face, as it was actually nice to see them both. Now that Lydia knew what I was and Scott and the rest, we didn't have to forget her in the supernatural talks. I reopened my locker as I pulled another English book out. Before shutting it once again.

"Freshmen. Tons and tons of fresh men," Lydia states, as I look around to see boys, walking the halls of Beacon Hill.

"You mean fresh boys," Allison states, as she puts a pink folder into her locker, eyes locked with Lydia. "Lydia, they're 14," Allison smirks as she puts the blue folder in.

"Eh, some are more mature than others," Lydia replied back, not bothered about their age. She was just looking for a distraction as Jackson had left for London.

"You know, being single is great. You can focus more on yourself and your well-being," I state to her, as she gaze her eyes over, turning to face me.

Lydia chuckles as she had her arms folded over her chest. "Says the teenage Witch, who's being hiding in her house all summer," I frown at Lydia's reply but she was right.

"You can also work on becoming a better person," Allison had added to the conversation, as she looked to Lydia, trying to cut the tension.

"Allison, I love you, both of you," Lydia began as she looked between us both, before he eyes landed on Allison. "So if you need to do that thing where we talk about me and pretend like we're not actually talking about you. It's totally fine," Lydia was all hand gestures and all the jazz, but Allison laughs softly. "But I don't want a boyfriend," She stretches her arm out above her to touch the top of my locker. "I want a distraction," her eyes wondered the playing-field to search for her prey, before her eyes fixed down the hall.

At this point Allison had closed her locker and lent against it, as I did the same, so Lydia could get the full frontal view. We all looked down the hallway to see two guys, wearing black leather jackets, both super hot and... Twins.

"Brothers?" Allison had asked, her head cocked to the side as she watches them.

Lydia 'hmm's' in delight as she watches them for a moment. "Twins," Lydia states, finding joy as they grace their presents down the hallway. We all watch both of them as they are super hot and I just wanted to ride them until their milk stop producing...

But we couldn't stand here all day and watch, we had an English lesson to start. As we started to pack our things up, it was time to go to class. We walked, chatting to one another about little things. Lydia had walked into class first then I behind her, then Allison behind me.

I laughed softly at what Lydia said, but I wasn't paying too much attention, as I walked behind her. Lydia walked a bit faster to find a seat she wanted but a guy took a seat in front of her before I could get a chance. My eyes glance around the room, to find to seats in front of Scott. I wondered over to the row and sat a two seats in front of Scott.

I placed my books out onto the table, as Allison reluctantly sits behind me, she really not wanting to see Scott right now. Scott rambles to Allison, as she takes her seat, as I was cringing in my seat.

Suddenly, everyone's phone in the class room began to beep, ring or vibrate as we all was getting a text message. We all pulled out our phones to see who the message was from, but there was a few lines from a book. I frowned in confusion as I heard heels enter the classroom. "The offing was barred by a black bank of clouds and the tranquil waterway, leading to the uttermost ends of the earth flowed somber under an overcast sky, seemed to lead into the heart of an immense darkness," our teacher had read the message to the class, as she looked at us all.

"This is the last line to the first book we are going to read," she states as she leans against the desk, eyes glancing to every student. "It is also-" she holds her phone up to the class. "-the last text you will receive in this class," she smiles to everyone. "Phones off, everyone,"

I turn my iPhone off, and place it on my desk. As the lesson began. Miss Blake began to write the books name on the chalk board, and who wrote the book. Within moments after she had wrote on the board, the principle entered and whispered to Miss Blake, but I didn't listen to their conversation.

"Mr McCall?" She states, I looked through my eyelashes to see her wiggle her fingers inwards to gesture to him to come to her. I can hear him pack his things up before standing and heading outside with Miss Blake.

They speak for a few moments, but I still didn't listen in to their conversation. Before, I heard her heels connect with the floor as she entered the classroom once again. Miss Blake had given us a task to do and it's been only a few minutes since we gotten into the task. A book laid open in front of me as I jotted down notes, as Miss Blake wrote on the chalk board.

I wrote things down for the assignment, but suddenly, I heard a 'bang' that came from the window. As it hit, I shot my head around to see blood, stained on the outside of the window. Black fathers also stayed on the window as the blood was acting as a glue. I frown in confusion, as everyone's eyes were on the window.

Miss Blake stopped what she was doing and went slowly over to the window, to see what had happened. I began to hear birds squawking from the distance as my super hearing picked them up. As Miss Blake looked out side, I could see from my seat that thousands of black birds flew towards the school, like they were flying away from something. Then a pit of dread entered my stomach, the feeling of something bad was coming.

Miss Blake look to us all, for a moment, just as a black bird hit into the window, she spun around to see the blood stained to the window and she took a step back. One by one, more birds hit the windows, and they started to crack and weaken. Before anyone knew it, they broke in, the sound of glass shattering and hitting the floor came to ear. The birds started to fly overhead around us all, more joined as they entered from the broken glass.

"Get down, everyone!" Miss Blake yells as certain birds start to hurt people. I bolted up from my seat and went straight for Allison who was behind me. I latch onto her as the students scream and get scratched by the claws of the winded devils. A mixture of different blood types entered my nostrils, but I kept my cool, as my hold on Allison didn't lose it's grip. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Stiles dart to protect Lydia from the chaos that loomed above. I also see Miss Blake grabbed a few students to protect them from the birds, one of them was attacking a girls head, nipping at her.

I couldn't let my fellow class mates be attacked and bleed out and suffer from an wild animal attack. Without really considering the mistake I might make if someone hears me performing a spell, was far from my mind right now. I took a deep breath, and looked up to stare at one of the birds. "Phesmatos Aviculas aves," I began to chat, trying to make it subtle. "Stillabunt incendere ad pulvox," As the spell was finished, the birds overhead started to drop one by one because the spell killed them. To put it bluntly...

As the final bird dropped after a few seconds of the spell being cast, everyone in the class started to pop their heads up looking around. Birds were laid on desks, on the floor, their feathers scattered around the class like a bomb of them just was set off.

I sighed as I helped Allison stand to her feet, holding her hands to pull her up. She looked around the room at the birds, and her eyes finally locked onto me, full of relief and thanks. I gave her a soft smile, as I embraced her in a hug.

So this how was the day going to go then...

A/N

First chapter done, I love how Alice dealt with the bird situation. It fitted perfectly in my mind, that she uses magic to kill them, to protect the other students. Love it!
