Chapter Fifteenth: Healers
The nurses had their hands full because of a 10-car pile up, and people were being rerouted to the Beacon Hill hospital from downtown. I had offered my assistance at the hospital, though I wasn't a qualified Doctor, I did learn about medicine and the human body. Plus, I was a nurse in WWI and WWII.
Times had changed but I kept up-to-date with medicine. I see Melissa holding onto a woman's stomach as blood poured from it. The reception of the hospital was jammed packed with different patients. Melissa wondered over to the main desk, as I wrapped a bandage around a male patient's arm, as he had a gash on it, not too deep.
As I finished, I turn around to see Scott talking to his mother, I still don't think she knew I was a Witch. A women came up to her asking for something for the pain, but because she wasn't a doctor she couldn't give her any. Scott seemed to follow the brown haired woman, and sat next to her, using his ability to take a little of her pain away, but it was enough to relive her.
"Someone... Someone help me!" Ethan's unforgettable voice rang out in the entrance, making me cock me head to him. "I need help!" He was holding Danny up as he was having trouble breathing.
Scott and Melissa rushes over to Ethan and Danny, as they carefully bring him to a seat. "Okay, gentle, gentle, gentle!" Melissa states as they put Danny in a chair but screams as pain shot through him.
Scott pulls Ethan to the side to talk to him, as I help Melissa with Danny. She checks her his breathing, as I look at him over as it was clear he was in pain. "This is not good," Melissa sounded scared for Danny, making me scared as well. "His larynx has shifted to the side. I think it's a tension pneumothorax," Suddenly, Danny jolts up and throws creamy goods all over the floor.
Luckily, I had stepped to the side just in time. "Mistletoe," I spoke as I looked at the little creamy-white balls on the floor. We quickly got Danny on a gurney and wheeled him to a space for patients, Danny was moaning all the way there, but not in a good way.
"Can you two please go back to the waiting room?" Melissa states to the boys as I was helping in the hospital. We had parked Danny in a free space in the room.
"Where are the nurses and the doctors? Where is everyone?" Ethan states as he wondered where they all were.
"It's a full house tonight. They're tending to other patients. I had to phone Alice here to help, as I remember Scott says she could help," Melissa states as she did phone me to help her.
"Okay. Well, Mom, how can we help?" Scott asks, wanting to help to save Danny's life.
"Honey, you can't. His lung is collapsed. His heart is being pushed against his chest cavity now," Melissa replied to his son.
"He's gonna die, isn't he?" Scott states clearly scared for Danny, but he wasn't going to die on my watch.
"No, he's not," I state, as Melissa looked around for a moment before looking back at the boys.
"Scott, you grab the tape. You grab those scissor and cut his shirt open," she gave orders to the boys, as she went to a draw and pulled out a long-ass needle. Ethan instead just rips his shirt open.
Danny began to gasp for air, without really thinking I grab hold of his hand in mine. "Asinta Mulaf Hinto, Sho Bala," I mumbled under my breath as the pain that emitted from Danny began to lessen but it wasn't a enough to keep the whole pain away. I see Scott and Ethan look at me as they would have probably heard a spell that I was performing.
Melissa acted quickly as she began to feel around on his chest for a point so she can poke - well more like plunge - the needle in. Within seconds, she found the spot and forced the needle into Danny's chest. She lifts a vale up releasing the air and pulling some liquid out of Danny. He inhales sharply before exhaling with ease. "Okay, here we go," she pulls out the syringe along with the big-ass needle. As I dropped my hand, to release him.
We wait for a moment to see what will happen, and Danny's eyes railed up to Melissa. "Thank you," his tone was grateful and hopeful once again.
"No problem," Melissa smiles as she was relieved to see Danny alive. Her eyes went to the boys in front of her, they looked impressed with her work. "What?" She asks surprised.
"That was awesome," Scott replies to his mother, his eyes wide as he it was really amazing.
"It wasn't a... No problem, you know. I mean, it wasn't a big deal," Melissa laughs as she was static about it all. But we were all glad that Danny was alive and well. I waved my hand over Danny's face, as Melissa was looking at Scott, and Danny's eyes began to shut and fell under. He was resting now, and will gain his strength back.
Scott and Ethan left the room, as Danny was now safe and sound. Melissa and I stared at one another with smiles on our faces, as this was a good night.
...........................................
The next day had arrived and Scott had told me that they had found a body of a Doctor, and he was worried about his Mother. So, imagine he was going to protect her with his life. For some reason, I didn't want to go to school today, as I felt like I was going to be needed somewhere.
Half of the day went by as I did some research on human sacrifices, which I had plenty of books that had some mention to the topic, but I just learnt what I already knew. I slam the book I was reading shut, and toss it to the table in front of me, as I lent back into the soft material of the couch.
Suddenly, phone begin to ring from the table, as I lift up and answered the phone. "Hello," I state to the phone.
"Hey, it's me," Stiles voice was clear as day. "Need your help with something, meet us at school. I'll text you where," But before I could reply to a yes or a no, he had hung up, knowing that I would come no matter what when it involves my friends.
Always helping my friends when they are in-danger. How nice of me, maybe one day someone will save me...I vamp-sped from the couch and grabbed my jacket alone the way out of the door and sped to the school...
......................................
Once I arrived at the school, I had my leather jacket on, and my boots clicked against the marble floor. Stiles had texted me which classroom he was currently in. I walk through the hallway and made my way to the classroom.
"Where's Doctor. Deaton?" My super-hearing had picked up as I came closer to the classroom. Who the hell was he asking? As I came to the door, I see Stiles and Cora looking at Lydia, waiting for her to answer.
"What?" She replied blankly to Stiles.
"Aren't you gonna answer it?" Stiles had asked her, but why would she know where he was.
I push open the door, but they didn't seem to notice me or the door being pushed open. "Oh, I don't know the answer. I thought we were asking some sort of spirit," Lydia replied as I can now see them using a spirit board.
"Well, do you know any spirits?" Cora had asked, making me chuckle and grabbing their attention.
"Really, using a spirit board?" I had asked, as their eyes wondered to my face, as I walked towards them. "I kind of feel offended you go to the spirits for help, but not little old me," I smirk at them as they knew that I was playing with them.
"Well, do you know where he is?" Stiles had asked as he lifted his fingers from the pointer of the ouija board. I came by his side and lent sideways onto the table, my blue eyes glancing into his whiskey coloured ones.
"I can find out," I said, as he looked taken back by my comment. "I need something that belonged to him," Stiles wasted no time and rummaged through his pockets, and pulled out a set of keys.
"These are Deaton's keys from the clinic," Stiles states as dangles them on his index finger of his right hand. "Will these do?"
"Yep," I state as I grabbed the keys off of him, and held them in my hand before encasing with both my hands. I closed my eyes and began to feel the energy within the keys, and started to concentrate. I mumbled a chant under my breath, as I began to see flashes of images, but they were blurry and not focus. But the images began to fade, and I reopened my eyes. To look at the six pair of eyes that looked at me, waiting for an answer. "I-I can't find him," I state to the group, as their faces drop as this wasn't good...
"Well, we're back to square one," Cora had said cockily, as I rolled my eyes at her, and place the keys on the table.
"I'll find him, but I need a stronger connection than keys," I replied to them, as I turned on my heels and walked out of the classroom, before they could get a word in.
As I walked the halls, my phone beeped in my leather jacket pocket, meaning I had a text message. I pull it out and see I had a text off of Isaac, saying: 'At Derek's place, think you can help.' Was all the text had said. I never get a break and when I do, it is wrapped around research, but I guess that's what I get when my friends need my Witchy help...
