chapter ninety (part two)

As the group entered the stone garden research wing they were able to see the entire area completely infested and overrun by those aethereal ghostly dwarven automatons who were fighting against mages who the group could only assume were more Ghostbottle disciples. Instead of jumping in and getting jumped themselves they decided to lie in wait and allow the opposing sides to destroy each other and then they would pick off the remaining stragglers, when an enclosed areas such as the one they were in now it was best to be smart rather than brutal. The ghost bottle mages stood zero chance against the dwarven automatons however something seemed to be troubling Gentu as the way he was watching the automatons it was like he was contemplating something even though the rest of them couldn't see his face underneath his dwarven helmet it was his body language and the way he was very thoroughly observing that caught their attention. Immediately once all the mages were taken out the group rushed the dwarven spiders that were covered in that same dark blue mist and wiped them out moving quickly and effectively making absolutely sure to be thorough to make sure they couldn't take them from behind. They carefully made their way through the dwarven hallways noticing some strange glowing dark purple rocks in the walls along with the purple mist all on the ground they silently agreed to hold their breath as they walked through not wanting to inhale whatever this was. However as they were getting close to the next door another specter appeared this one was on armed and was just standing there looking at them before raising its fists and running straight towards them only for Sabrina to rush it and body slam it against a rock causing it to dissipate with another screech. "Okay am I the only one who is noticing these things are intelligent?.." Sabrina asked looking back with her eyebrow raised wanting to make sure she wasn't going crazy the other group nodded in agreement before they followed behind her. When they entered the next room Zed immediately ran in doing a tuck and roll notching two dwarven arrows into his bow zephyr before firing both straight into another dwarven spider and another specter armed with a dwarven sword that were also radiating that mist dropping them down. Once the threat was gone they looked around the room noticing there were a bunch of seats halfway buried in the ground. Upon exiting they noticed a campsite on a raised platform they all immediately made their way over Sabrina leading the way noticing all sorts of alchemical ingredients scattered around such as spider eggs, glow dust, even some spriggan sap. As they continued spreading out looking around they carefully looted whatever they could find with Zed picking up a Nord bow that was unique and item that did Poison damage without needing to be dipped in poison itself. "Take that with us, Asadelf will be able to disenchant it and then she can use the enchantment herself for items in the future for now let's keep looking around see if we can find anything." Tully said as they continued looking around looking inside a necromancers safe Sabrina found a unique item she's never seen before, a small bowl of powder labeled dwarven bone dust. "Wait dwarven bone dust? Why do I not like the sound of that?" Zed asked cautiously looking over at Gentu as the two exchanged a look. Nodding in agreement they made their way back down with both Zed and Gentu going first running down the fallen platform taking out another specter along with another automaton as the two kept exchanging glances whenever the automatons acted out of their usual robotic behavior almost like they were suspecting something. They entered the refinement wing again through the back door and walked across the bridge almost immediately coming face to face with two more specters who were sitting on the bench one armed with a dwarven greatsword and the other one armed with a dwarven sword however before either Zed or Gentu could engage Lianya stepped up putting her hand against both of their chests walking forward pulling out Aureils shield and sword before rushing towards them blocking against the one with the greatsword before driving her own sword straight through the one armed with the dwarven sword and then ducking underneath the one with the dwarven greatsword before doing an upwards slash straight up the middle as they both turned to a big pile of ectoplasm after another shriek like the others. ".... I thought so, something terrible has happened here, something dark..." Lianya spoke as her voice was trembling and her eyes were looking all over. From down the corridor two more specters came down one armed with a dwarven battle ax and the other one armed with a dwarven bow. Lianya nods putting her shield in sword away before pulling off the bow on her back and holstering a sun hollowed arrow into the notch of Aureils bow before loosing the arrow directly between the two specters causing them both to be incinerated within the light leaving only two piles of ectoplasm in their wake. "Let's go we need to get to the bottom of whatever is going on let's move." Lianya said determined. When they noticed there was a small campsite just above them they made their way up being careful and efficient making sure not to draw attention. Immediately once they were up Zed dropped another specter that was standing guard over the campsite as the group started looting the area. Investigating any necromancer safes they could find and collecting any of the strange item called dwarven bone dust they could get their hands on being careful and moving with purpose however it wasn't long before they found something. "Guys I found something, I found a disciples journal I'll read it." Sabrina said as the group converge down her so they could listen to what she read.

"If the traces of Arkasis's soul are here, it would be impossible to find. The drought saturated properties are what we expected but they are so brief when imbibed. We can't sit around drinking these potions and hoping the split second of power we get is enough to find it. I have voiced these concerns with Lord Alar . He has set men to refitting and tracing the pipes in this ruin he says the secret lies there."

Down in the container they found a Nordic Warhammer as Gentu picked it up they nodded to each other before making their way back up walking through a room with a bunch of tables and another specter this one armed with a dwarven mace. Eventually they entered the stone garden laboratory in which they came face to face with Alar Ghostbottle himself. "Everybody you take care of the disciples me and Serana will take Alar!" Tully ordered as the group nodded and split off while the others tended to the ghost bottle disciples Tully and Serana contended with Alar. Tully immediately pulled off the Bloodskal blade before doing a strike in order to cause the blade to set out a shock wave to hit the enemy as Serana charged in using ice spike in her left hand while wielding her daedric sword in her right hand once it was a two versus one Tully put his greatsword back on his back before pulling his mace off his side and going to help. Alar Ghostbottle himself was good he was a master of what he did and masterfully used his talent for his benefit however Tully was better. "Serana heads up!" Tully shouted as Serana nodded switching to using lightning magic to strike The necromancer in the eyes to blind him before jumping back just as Tully shouted using a dragon shout he learned back in the soul Cairn. "RII VAAZ ZOL!" Tully had used the soul tear shout causing the necromancer to have his soul ripped out of his body and trapped into a soul gem causing his body to become an undead thrall under Tully's command giving a sick smirk of satisfaction he walked over giving his new thrall and almost mocking pat on the head before the others joined back up with them. "Well well it looks to me like Tully and Serana have a new pet." Sabrina said with a smirk on her face as the vampires rolled their eyes. As they looted him he found a Nordic dagger called the ghostbottle scalpel. After Sabrina carefully put the scalpel on her side she picked up the journal before Tully picked it up instead and started reading it.

"A tomb. A damned TOMB these metal boxes were CASKETS. Sealed shut and full of damn bone dust. The resurrection ritual doesn't discriminate, and instead of the ghosts of alchemists like I intended... This entire place was a resting place for dwarves and now they're all back at once. Pouring out of the depths slaughtering my men left and right. They're even climbing into the damn machines and turning them wretched and alive again. I can't control them. They coordinate, they talk to each other somehow. These aren't people. They're like damned bees worse still, The depths where we began the ritual are impossible to reach. The biggest of those automatons came to life and are destroying anyone that comes close. If I had to guess from the regalia of the ghosts before they climbed into them they were some sort of royalty, savages. I've blocked off all I can to the lower depth with a binding ritual of my own design, using dwarven bone dust as the primary compound. It won't stop the ghosts already here but it will give us time to regroup and plan. Hopefully they won't be willing to burn their own remains in the fire they take care of their own, Savage is that they are I'll figure this out, one way or another."

Lianya's eyes darkened her hands clenching into fists as her hand gripped onto the edge of the table as the room temperature immediately started to drop lower and lower to the point where the group around them could start to see their own breath as Gentu walked over to the snow elf putting his mechanical hand on her shoulder gently as a sign of comfort. "Gentu, we have to do everything we can to set their spirits free. I will never forgive them for what they did for my people, personally I believe they're getting exactly what they deserve, but if I allow The souls of The Departed to be disturbed like this then I am not upholding my duty." Lianya said with her held high with a flash of determination in her eyes. The group nodded in agreement as they continued spreading out looking for anything else of value or that could help making sure to pick up any dwarven bone dust they came across considering that's what they needed to cancel out the ritual that Alar Ghostbottle did. The group rounded back retracing their steps looking for anyone they might have missed inevitably they did find more of Ghostbottle's disciples three of them. After they rounded back they split up Sabrina going through one of the trenches found another piece of the rare armor similar to The Black guard boots she was now wearing she picked up The mad alchemist vest before putting it on stretching her arms back and cracking her neck as she stuffed her old shadowed netch armor in her bag. However on the other side of the opening there was a another door but it was blocked by an invisible barrier possibly the cause of the ritual that was done in order to get into there they would need to dispel the ritual first. They reconvened back up at the top of the stairs before giving each other a nod. "Hey guys I found another journal listen to this." Serana spoke before reading from the journal she had in her hand.

"Something's wrong. The mists of Resurrection are bringing for the spirits, indeed! But while I see outlines of the ghosts, they're not what I was expecting. Did this "Mad Alchemist" that Lord Alar promised us would come forth where dwarven armor? Did his followers?"

After Serana finished reading the group exchanged a nod before proceeding forward moving in a tactical back-to-back formation to make sure nothing else could sneak up behind them. After a few minutes of retracing their steps of going back through the ruin collecting any more dwarven bone dust they could get their hands on they made their way back to where they defeated Alar Ghostbottle and placed the dwarven bone dust onto the pedestal before burning it. Almost immediately as the bone dust was burned it felt as if the very air itself became heavier as the warding ritual was dissipated. The group exchanged a confident but understanding nod with one another before making their way forward entering the stone crypt, kings tomb. As they walked down a flight of stairs they were immediately able to see three dwarven centurions distinctly larger than their regular variants standing North West and east facing each other just standing there as if quietly having a conversation. The moment they entered the room all three of the spectral automatons locked on to them and fired blasts of steam directly at them.
