I was having a wave of nausea as I grabbed my bags and started to walk towards my plane.

My mind drifted off into the clouds, "I love you honey" my mom said, tears running down her burnt cheeks from the Virginia sun.

She hugged me and I could smell the sugar that was caked on her clothes from making her famous chocolate chip cookies.

"I love you too, mom" I squeaked as my eyes started to water.

My boots squeaked on the shining tile floor as I walked up the stairs to the planes doorway, looking back I saw the whole airport.

My throat caught as I realized what I was doing, I was leaving all the family I cared about behind to go to a crappy college.

My eyes started to water and I patted them with my shirt, I'm not going to cry, I'm not going to cry, I took a deep breath and walked onto the plane.

It was really nice with fuzzy seats that looked comfortable, I was thirty minutes early but the plane was almost packed.

My passport showed that I was seat number 5, I looked around and saw it, but a guy about my age was sitting in the seat beside it.

I groaned and made my way to it, without making any eye contact I shoved my bags in the compartment and plopped down beside him.

He had earbuds in and didn't even glance at me, scrounging around I looked for my own pair of earbuds but couldn't find them.

I started to panic and looked around frantically.

"I forgot my earbuds" I groaned as I shuffled around in my bag.

"Here,we can share" the guy said, looking at me for the first time on this god forsaken plane.

I jumped in surprise, he hadn't said a single thing and it scared the hell out of me.

I blushed and tucked a strand of my brown hair behind my ear "Sure, thanks" I said taking the earbud out of his hand and putting it in my ear.

The realization kicked in, what if this guy is like obsessed with girly pop music, I mentally facepalmed myself as I nervously waited for him to start the music.

His fingers scrolled across his phone until he clicked on one, the music blasting in my ear was one of my favorite songs.

Don't You Dare Forget The Sun by Get Scared vibrated in my ear and I tapped my foot to the music, when I listen to music I'm transported to a place where no one else is but me, it's a good way to block out all the problems of the world.

Without thinking I started to sing along, not loudly but enough to where only me and someone really close could hear.

'You're a mess tangled with your confidence you think you haven't sinned, but your unstoppable, your walls are impassible, Oh I think your better off looking alone, cause the boys that chase your hips can just go find their way home, and at the end of the day you think to yourself, "my body is a product being sold on a shelf" tell me I can change, tell me I can change' I opened my eyes and blushed madly.

The guy was staring at me with his earbud in his hand listening to me.

"You have an amazing voice" he said, staring into my grey eyes with his blue ones, I took in his features, he had fluffy brown hair and a sharp jawline, his blue eyes sparkled from the sun coming through the little window.

I looked away embarrassed, "Do you take lessons?" He asked tilting his head to the side, curious.

My eyes were fixed in my lap "No, I've been singing since I could talk" I replied.

A sharp jolt almost knocked me into the floor, "Were about to take off passengers so buckle up" I clipped my seatbelt into place and leaned back breathing out slowly, this was going to be a long ride.
