It's been nine hours and I still can't get Shane out of my head, tingles still in my spine.

I was sitting outside on the porch, looking up at the stars shining brightly.

Millions of thoughts racing through my mind, the main one being why did he do that?.

Why me, I thought looking at my refection in the window beside me.

I looked average, boring face, boring hair, boring....EVERYTHING.

What would he want with a girl like me, I'm not special in any way at all.

The more I thought about it the more depressed I got, thinking about all my flaws and the mistakes I've made.

The swing dipped to the right as my thoughts stopped, looking beside me i saw kass, holding a big plastic bag people put expensive clothes in.

Her face showed excitement as she shoved the bag into my arms, urging me to look inside, i slowly unzipped it, gasping at what it held inside.

It was the most beautiful dress, a short black dress, lace patterns giving it a fancy look but also keeping its party glow.

The neckline plunged down but not to far, enough to cover everything but not look to innocent.

As i examined the dress kass also shoved a shoe box at me, "get dressed and ready for the club, jace is leaving in about an hour" she chirped, getting up and leaving.

Grabbing all the things kass gave me i headed back inside and went to my room, closing the door softly as i laid down the outfit.

Since i have a full length mirror i decided to get dressed in my room, slipping on the dress and easily zipping it up.

It went above my knees, showing off my long legs, hugging my curves perfectly to fit just right.

Inside the shoebox held a pair of black matching high heel lace wedges, giving me an extra two inches to my height.

Finally getting up the nerve i walked into the bathroom, getting to work at curling my hair.

When i was finally finished i had five minutes to spare, looking into he mirror i saw a complete different person, i still didn't have on make-up like usual but i looked different.

My brown hair cascaded down to my chest in thick spirals, my grey eyes glowing more than normal.

The dress made me look elegant yet sexy, which was a perfect combination.

A soft knock came to the door, quickly i scurried over and opened it to reveal kass.

She was dressed in a mini white lace dress, her brown hair tied up into a bun carefully, even her white flats showed elegance.

She looked like a princess, well that is until she started to squeal and hop up and down.

"You look amazing!!" She screeched, crushing me in a bear hug.

Giggling lightly I closed the door, deciding not to bring my phone since I have no pockets and I'm not carrying around a little purse.

Kass didn't wait up as she bounded down the stairs, giggling at every step, rolling my eyes as I followed behind.

As I walked down I saw jace and Shane talking, jace was in a navy blue Hollister shirt with jeans and his hair combed perfectly, Shane was dressed in a dark blue dress shirt and black pants, looking ready to go to a party.

Jace's eyes averted from shame and landed on kass, he eyed her as his jaw dropped, watching her walk down the stairs.

Shane looked confused until his eyes landed on mine, his blue eyes widening as I walked down the stairs.

Brushing a strand of hair out of my face I walked up to the guys, looking at the floor.

I could still feel Shane's gaze on me, making me embarrassed and self-conscious.

"You guys look amazing" jace said smiling, he linked arms with kass and opened the door.

Me and Shane sat there all awkward, he cleared his throat as he offered his arm, smiling down at me.

I smiled back and linked my arm in his much stronger one, tingles tickling their way up my spine as our skin touched.

The door shut softly behind us as we walked to the car, its shiny surface gleaming under the moonlight.

The warm night air was inviting, with the slight smell of the ocean, its salty smell beckoning to be followed.

Shane opened the car door and gestured for me to sit down, I did so and blushed as he smiled and shut the door.

His faint silhouette walking around the car to the other side, the door opened and Shane plopped in, buckling his seat belt.

I did the same as the door shut and jace started to pull out the driveway, gravel crunching under the tires.

The car ride was silent and peaceful, gazing out the window at the trees swaying in the breeze.

That moment of peace was interrupted by loud techno music vibrating the car, we had arrived at the club.

It was a pretty nice building, a neon sign lighting up the words 'Pandemonium' (Shadowhunters reference).

My gaze landed on the front door, a buff bouncer was standing there, his chest puffed out and arms crossed with a scowl.

It looked like he had a couple run-ins, a faint bruise starting to color on his cheek.

Jace stopped the car and looked in the back seat at us, a smile plastered to his face, "Let's go" he said.

Kass cheered and basically dove out the car, laughing joyfully.

Rolling my eyes, I opened my door with a creak and stepped out, you could literally smell the alcohol from the parking lot.

I cringed my nose in disgust, getting nauseous as a mixture of sweat and alcohol invaded my sinuses.

A new smell was brought to me as Shane grabbed my hand, his cologne keeping a breathable bubble around us.

Kass and jace were already walking in as we trailed behind, the bouncer giving jace a nod of the head.

Shane smacked the guys shoulder and smiled, the bouncers face twisted into a smile as he chuckled and hugged Shane, winking as he pushed the two of us in.

Bright colorful lights shone in my eyes, temporarily blinding me as Shane dragged me along.

It was packed with people, all of them on the dance floor, slutty girls were grinding on guys, I rolled my eyes and gagged.

Shane caught on and laughed deeply, "yeah, its disgusting I know" he said, sitting on a bar stool.

An old man was behind the counter, drying glasses until he saw Shane, his tired eyes lit up and he walked towards us.

"Well long time no see" he chuckled as he hugged Shane across the counter, the way the old man's eyes lit up was so cute.

I giggled as they finished hugging, the man's gaze landing on me as his smile widened, "What are you doing here with such a pretty girl" he chuckled as he shook my hand politely, his hands calloused with years of washing glasses.

Shane laughed, a faint tint of pink on his cheeks, "better keep a close eyes on her, these guys will snatch her up in a heartbeat" he whispered to Shane, his face getting serious.

I raised an eyebrow as Shane nodded and continued to talk to the man, it seemed private so I wandered around.

Looking in the crowd I couldn't see jace or kass anywhere in the sea of bodies, the closer I got to the dance floor the warmer I got, body heat radiating off the crowd.

All of a sudden a strong grip was landed on my wrist, I jerked around thinking it was Shane, but instead of seeing his blue eyes I was met with brown half lidded ones.

The guy had a strong grip on my wrist, his black hair in a mess and stubble on his chin, he looked a little older than jace.

"Why look what I found" he said in a raspy voice, my face cringed as the smell of alcohol hit me in the face, he was obviously drunk.

"L-let go" I stuttered, trying to pull away from him but failed as he brought me to his chest, the faint smell of cigarette smoke filling my lungs.

He chuckled darkly as he got closer to my face, trailing his hands along my hips.

"H-Help!" I yelled hopelessly over the loud music, the guy only chuckled louder, "Save your screams for later" he whispered in my ear.

Squirming around I kept trying to escape as he dragged me to the bathrooms, my eyes widened as I realized what he was going to do.

Before he could take a step into the grime covered tile in the bathroom a voice rang over all the sounds, people stopped talking as they looked over at us.

The only sound was the music still blaring and my deep breaths, standing in front of me was Shane, his fists clutched and he gritted his teeth.

I stopped struggling as the guy chuckled darkly and something cold touched the side of my head, by the way Shane's eyes widened in fear it must have been something bad.

Looking as far to the side as I could I saw something shiny and metallic held in his hand, realization kicked in, he was holding a gun to my head.

"Come any closer and I'll blow her brains out" he growled, digging the barrel of the cold gun into my cheek, I let out a whimper.

Shane's eyes quickly went from the gun to my eyes, the normal icy blue turning dark, almost a navy blue.

"Let her go" he growled, his voice deepening to a dangerous level, the brown hair falling in his eyes made him look more threatening.

The gun pushed deeper into my cheek, I could taste the metallic taste of blood.

With all the courage I could muster I looked up at him, "Guess what" I said, grinning as I saw kass sneaking up behind him.

His dark eyes looked down at me, snarling, "What!!" He yelled, clearly pissed off about Shane interrupting him.

My grin widened as I let out a giggle, "Behind you" I whispered, before he could turn around kass barreled at him, screeching in rage.

She jumped on his back and grabbed his wrist, slamming the barrel of the gun into his nose.

Hissing in pain he stumbled back, his back hitting the wall as kass jumped off and backed away.

When he took his hands away blood was dripping down his face, staining his white shirt, "You bitch" he hissed as he got up to attack kass.

Before he could slide off the wall Shane barreled at him, throwing punches at the guys already bleeding face.

"Don't. Fucking. Ever. Touch. Her. Again" he growled throwing a punch after every word, rage in his eyes.

Jace all of a sudden bursted out the crowd, sprinting towards Shane, trying to pull him off.

Jace was talking to Shane as he pulled on his shoulders, but it was impossible to hear over the crowd chanting "FIGHT!FIGHT!FIGHT!".

A shot rang across the room, everyone stopped, Shane stilled and looked back.

The sound of a body hitting the ground was right beside me, looking down I gasped in horror.

Kass was laying on the ground, her eyes were wide open and blood was seeping through her dress on her stomach, the once white dress turning a dark maroon.

Tears ran down my cheeks as I dropped to my knees, taking kass's head and laying it in my lap, her breathing was coming in deep gasps, clinging to my dress with all her might.

"YOU MOTHER FUCKER!!" I heard jace yell, through blurry eyes I saw smoke coming from beside the guys side, a grin planted on his face, the bastard grabbed the gun while shane was being pulled by jace.

Letting out a scream of anger I stumbled up, laying kass's head on the ground.

Jace quickly ran to take my place, holding kass in his arms and whispering to her.

Shane was getting up as I stumbled towards the guy, that stupid grin never leaving his face.

Quickly i grabbed his face in my hands and looked him in the eyes, giving him a sick grin of my own as i spat in his face.

As he tried to rub it out his eyes I raised my leg high in the air before bringing my heel down on his ankle.

Smiling when i heard a loud crack followed by a pain filled scream, doing the same with his other ankle.

Tears were streaking down my face as Shane pulled me away.

The last thing I remember before blacking out was the sound of sirens and the feeling of Shane holding me in his arms.
