"What should we do today?" Jarod asked his friends.

"The day is almost done," Summer mentioned. "What's there to do?" Everyone else sighed. Their summer was almost over and they had nothing to do, except be bored. Suddenly, a car alarm was heard through the window. Everyone stared at the glass object in shock.

"Was that your car, Bryan?" a girl with a hair bun on top of her head asked.

"I don't think so, Lizzy," Bryan said. "How about you, James? Was it your car?"

"Nope," he replied.

"Then let's go see what it was," Summer's younger sister Jewel suggested. Everyone agreed and went to the exact window that they heard the alarm from and stared outside. It showed rows of houses lined up almost perfectly with each other and had a painted sunset in the sky. There was nothing abnormal outside.

"Were we just hearing things?" Lizzy thought aloud. The group then saw a gang of five walking into the house right across the street.

"Oh, it's the new neighbors!" Jarod exclaimed.

"New neighbors?" Keiza repeated.

"Yeah!" Jarod replied. "Dad told me that exchange students were gonna live near us."

"Are they going to the same high school as Keiza and I?" Lizzy asked.

"I don't know."

"I hope not," Keiza said worriedly. "I don't want them to suffer the bullies."

"Me neither," Lizzy agreed.

"Well, let's go introduce ourselves," Jarod said, walking away from the window.

"I don't know man," James admitted. "They might be a little jet-lagged. Let's wait until tomorrow."

"I feel like we should go today," Keiza admitted. "In case we forget to introduce ourselves." As the group discussed what to do, they walked away from the window. All except Lizzy, who decided to stick around. She gazed out the window and saw a boy staring at her. He had spiky hair, blonde at the front and red and black at the back. He was very surprised that someone was at the window and Lizzy was shocked that there was a boy there. Lizzy waved at him, trying not to make it awkward. The boy waved back and turned to leave. But he bumped into the car that was behind him. He held his stomach in pain and Lizzy's mouth dropped in shock. Before anything else, Lizzy walked out of the room as fast as she could.

"So much for a good impression," she thought.
