Chapter 8
"My doom, eh?" Lizzy repeated with a smirk. "Are you saying I'm screwed from the start?"
"Yes!" Bakura smiled evilly. "After you are gone, I can finally have my revenge on the Pharaoh!" Lizzy was puzzled on who he was referring to but shrugged it off to play the game. "Let us start!" The girl pulled out her deck while her opponent did the same.
"Are we gonna use duel disks?" Lizzy asked. Bakura shook his head and showed her a small table and chairs that were prepared. "Huh..." she stated. "Haven't played like this in awhile." She sat down on a chair, creaking at any movement made. "Here we go," Lizzy thought.
(Guys, I don't know how dueling works that well so we are doing a little skip! Sorry.....)
Bakura threw his cards to the table. "How could I have lost?!" he screamed. Lizzy put her cards away and said,
"We had a deal. Now give us the decks." The opponent grumbled as he gave her the cards.
"Impressive," he stated. "You lasted a long time in the Shadow Realm."
"The what?" Lizzy repeated.
"Look around you!" She glanced at her surroundings to see what Bakura was talking about. Purple, black, and dark blue haunted the world around them. A chilly feeling came across Lizzy's hard skin and she shuddered. She thought she was spied on from every direction possible, like in an ancient colosseum. "You seemed surprised," Bakura chuckled, staring at her shocked state.
"What is this place?" Lizzy questioned, very curious.
"It is the place where people go when they are punished for their deeds."
"Okay but why did you say that I lasted a long time?"
"Normal humans don't last too long here." The girl didn't believe him but chose to stay silent. The Shadow Realm disappeared and the two found themselves back in the alley. "I will defeat you the next time we meet," Bakura proclaimed.
"I can hardly wait," Lizzy replied. She got up from her chair and turned to see her friends. They were clueless on what had just occurred.
"Where were you?" William asked, a little demanding.
"I played the game and won," she answered with a smile. "What about you three?"
"We stood here and waited for the game to start," Ryan explained. "But you never did!"
"Heck yeah, I did!" Lizzy exclaimed, showing them the two decks she obtained. The three cheered for her.
"So, did your opponent run off?" William questioned the duelist.
"No," she replied. "He's right over-" Lizzy turned around to the alley to find him. But he was gone...
"Well, that's not weird," Ryan noted to the others.
"Let's go and pretend that we didn't look back," Melody suggested.
"Good idea," Lizzy said. The group walked out of the little alley and glanced up at the sky to see how late it was.
"What, it's dark?!" William yelled in shock. "We gotta get home!"
"I am not getting in trouble with my parents again!" Ryan exclaimed. Everyone started to run back to Jarod and Lizzy's house so that they can go their separate ways....and not get into trouble.
Okay, next chapter is out! Now here comes a problem: I don't know when I'm gonna update next because school is just around the corner. But I will at some point. Vote or comment if you think the story's doing good and see you next chapter!
