Lunch finally came around and everyone was eating outside. Although the sun was scorching hot, the breeze compensated for the heat. Lizzy and her classmate Cornelio were walking to throw away their trash when they bumped into the group of girls.

"Well, if it isn't the war brat," the leader snickered.

"Leave her alone, Reina!" Cornelio snapped.

"Why, Corny?" Reina asked with a smile. "It's so much fun!" The other girls laughed with her, mocking the two students. Cornelio gestured Lizzy to leave but Reina's friends blocked the exit doors.

"Come on, Reina," Lizzy said. "It's the first day of school. We can't do this now. Please..."

"Who cares?" Reina yelled, pushing Lizzy to the ground. "Remember that this is my school and my upperclassmen friends and I can do what we want! Got it?!"

"Everyone shares the school!" Lizzy protested, standing back up. "It doesn't belong to a certain group." Reina scoffed and her friends surrounded Lizzy in a circle.

"Lizzy!" Cornelio yelled. "Get out of there!" But she couldn't. She was pushed around by the girls that formed the circle. After being pushed for a long time, Lizzy was getting tired and dizzy. She couldn't think straight because the girls would push and spin her around. Reina kicked Lizzy to a wall and laughed. There was nothing she could do.

"See?" Reina yelled. "You're weak!"

"Hey, leave her alone!!" Reina and the girls turned to the voice. It was Joey and Yami, standing by the exit door.

"Oh yeah!" one of the girls exclaimed. "What are you going to do about it?" Joey got really upset and cracked his knuckles, itching for a fight. He began to walk towards them but Yami touched Joey's shoulder, indicating that he should stop. Lizzy slowly stood up and snapped out of her dizziness.

"Let them go, Reina!" she exclaimed. "You can't involve more people than you already have."

"Hmph," Reina said. "Aren't you soft?"

"She's right," Cornelio agreed. "They're new to the school. Give them a break!"

"Didn't you hear me earlier?!" Reina screamed. "I don't care!"

"Well maybe you should," Yami replied seriously. His tone was very dark and tough. Reina stuck out her tongue at Yami and motioned her crew to leave the room. As soon as they left, Joey yelled,

"The nerves of those girls!! I'd slap them in the face."

"Dude, they're girls," Cornelio mentioned. "You can't slap a girl!"

"I give you permission to," Lizzy said.

"Are you all right?" Yami asked, approaching her.

"Yeah," Lizzy sighed. "Just a typical school day..."

"Typical?!" Yami and Joey repeated. Cornelio and Lizzy nodded.

"Want me to punch them?" Joey asked, holding out a fist.

"We can't fight at school," Cornelio stated. "It's one of the rules."

"Aw, dang it!" Joey exclaimed.

"Is there anything you can do?" Yami questioned as they went outside.

"We've tried almost everything we can think of," Lizzy explained sadly. "But every time that group and more come back."

"Well if you every needs us," Yami began with a smile, "don't hesitate to come and get us."

"You guys are serious?" Cornelio said in shock.

"Yeah!" Joey said. "We'll help you out. You guys are our friends."

"Thanks!" Cornelio grinned. Lizzy smiled warmly at the two. The little group went their separate ways to be with their own friends. Cornelio glanced at both groups and wondered to himself if the two groups can somehow become one....
