Many years after Trishula froze the world, the world thawed out, and from the ashes of the past Duel Terminal, 4 new tribes have appeared.

The Lavals: a race of warriors born into fighting, never letting the raging fires of war in their hearts cease. The reside in the Burning Forest, where they plan their next attacks.

The Gem-Knights: a tribe of righteous fighters, tight as a family. They increase in power by fusing with one another, creating newer, stronger forms.

The Gusto: Peaceful sages, who are one with nature. They reside in the Mist Valley of old, only fighting in self-defense if the need arises.

And the Gishki: a water tribe who inherited the ancient power of the Ice Barrier. Using strange mirrors, they conduct wicked rituals, transforming themselves into monsters for their own gain.

For now, the world was at peace; a peace not meant to last. And last, it did not.

The Lavals assaulted the Gem-Knights, forcing a retaliation. The Laval Judgement Lord proceeded to smite them all the same.

But their leader, Gem-Knight Ruby, sacrificed himself to save his tribe. With Ruby slain, Laval the Greater, leader of his tribe, sought to take over the Gem-Knights.

Meanwhile, the Gishki sought new power to fuel their rituals, and began to invade the Mist Valley of the Gusto.

Winda, Priestess of the Gusto, drove the Gishki off with her power, pushing them back to the seas they came from.

And thus began the 2nd Duel Terminal War.

But, under the earth, an evil power was brewing. An ancient evil, awoken by the fighting above. A race of fiendish subterranean Monsters, ready to take the surface.

The Steelswarm, who had dwelt underground for as long as time could remember, was ready to attack, and take over. They would infest the planet itself. It just had to take the first step.

Evilswarm Caucastag struck the wind and water tribes, demonstrating their power to the world.

In the wake of the Steelswarm attack, Ariel of the Gishki and Caam of the Gusto used their strength to revive their fallen comrades.

Meanwhile, the Steelswarm organized an attack on the Lavals and Gem-Knights, with Steelswarm Moth leading the ambush.

Unable to watch the battle go on any longer, the divine Vylon from above descended, ready to eliminate that which they sealed away. But with the Steelswarm now at full strength, the lesser Vylons, Prism, Sphere, Tetra, and Stella, merged with members of the 4 tribes.

Prism became one with the Gem-Knight's new leader, Crystal, to create Gem-Knight Prismaura. Sphere formed with Reeze, Whirlwind of Gusto, to become Daigusto Sphreez. Stella and Laval Cannon became the Laval Stennon, and Noelia, queen of the Gishki, offered herself as the Evigishki Soul Ogre, to fuse with Tetra, making Evigishki Tetrogre.

Together, with Vylon Omega, they stormed the realm of the Steelswarm, turning all who stood in their way to nothing, and turning their leader, Steelswarm Hercules, into ash, ending the Steelswarm war.

However, all was not well. The Vylons turned on the tribes, blaming their wars for releasing the Steelswarm. However, the combined might of the tribes defeated the Vylons, who fled.

The tribes then broke up their alliance, going back to their own work. The Gishki began using the Lavals to fuel their Rituals, and began to take over the Mist Valley, committing genocide on the Gusto.

The Gem-Knights intervened, saving the remaining Gusto and fighting the Gishki. But, all was not well.

From the remnants of the Steelswarm, a dark fog, a virus, appeared, and began to encroach on the tribes, striking and corrupting Gem-Knight Emerald. Losing control of himself, he became the first of the corrupted: Evilswarm Heliotrope

"Eliminate! Eradicate! Exterminate!" These are the thoughts of the lingering Steelswarm souls, yearning for a body so that they might make their dreams a reality...
