72. Make You Feel My Love

When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love

Demarcus opened up the door to the cabin and walked in, the two teenagers hurrying in behind him. Demarcus frowned as Amethyst pulled Jughead off towards her room, sharing small smiles with one another.

Amethyst pulled Jughead into her room and then shut the door behind her, against her brothers wishes. Jughead wrapped his arms around Amethyst waist and placed light kisses on her shoulder.

"Stop, I have to call Betty," Amethyst giggled, taking her phone out. Jughead sighed before placing his chin on her shoulder as Amethsyt brought her phone up to her ear.

The phone called three times before Betty answered. "Hello?" She asked quietly.

"Hey, Bets. I was just checking in with you," Amethyst said brightly.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot you were going to call me," she said, her voice sounding quieter than usual.

"Yeah, just after everything that the Black Hood has put you through, I wanted to know if you were alright," Amethyst said, before giggling when Jughead began to place light kisses on her shoulder again.

Amethyst removed the phone from her ear and turned around. "Stop," she told him with a smile. "I'm talking to Betty."

"Talk to her tomorrow," Jughead whispered.

Amethyst lightly rolled her eyes before bringing her phone back to her ear. "I'm sorry about that. Jughead's being extra annoying tonight," Amethyst told her, and as Jughead walked back to Amethyst, Amethyst placed a hand on his chest and pushed him over towards the bed where he fell onto it.

"That's okay," Betty suddenly said quickly. "I need to head off to bed anyway, mom just walked in the room."

"Okay," Amethyst said as she crawled onto the bed and straddled Jughead's lap. "I'll talk to you tomorrow? Maybe?"

"Yeah, sure," Betty said. "Bye."

"Bye," Amethyst chirped before Jughead took the phone out of her hand and ended the call before throwing the phone away.

"You're mean," Amethyst shook her head down at him.

Jughead, who was lying on his back and tracing circles on Amethyst's hips just grinned. "I can't help it sometimes."

Then in one swift movement, he pulled Amethyst down and crashed his lips to hers. Amethyst kissed him back fiercely and had one hand on the mattress to hold her up with the other on his cheek. Jughead's tongue slipped into Amethyst's so suddenly that she stopped kissing him to laugh.

Jughead grinned back at her as they opened up their eyes. "What?"

Amethyst shook her head. "Nothing. Nothing. Carry on," she told him, and Jughead pulled her face down to his again. His hands were hot on Amethyst's waist as his fingers dug into her skin slightly. Amethyst moved her mouth down to his neck and pressed kisses all over, before coming back to his lips. Jughead's hand moved up Amethyst's body when the door suddenly burst open.

"What the hell, guys?" Demarcus screeched. Amethyst sat up straight from her position on Jughead and just turned to look at him. "Do you even have a condom with you?"

Amethyst gave Demarcus a bored look. "I've walked in on you before, so you are not allowed to judge me right now," she told him.

Demarcus clicked his tongue as he looked between the two teenagers. One who looked slightly embarrassed, and the other one who was just pissed off.

"You're right," he said quickly. "Just try not to do it while I'm here. That's just rude."

"Whatever," Amethyst told him. Demarcus hesitated in the doorway. "You can go now."

"Oh! Right!" He said quickly before shutting the door behind him.

Amethyst sighed as she looked back down at Jughead. "You want to continue or—?"

"Mood's ruined," Amethyst said before she rolled off of him. "And I'm tired anyway."

Amethyst lied down on her side so she could face Jughead and he turned on his side so he could face her.

"I love you," she told him.

Jughead smiled lightly. "I love you."

Amethyst smiled and placed a kiss on the tip of his nose before snuggling up beside him and falling asleep.

"I'm actually on cloud nine right now," Amethyst said the following day as school ended. She held onto Jughead's hand and swung them as they walked towards the exit of the building.

"Why's that?" Jughead asked her.

"I'm, like, one of the smartest kids in class," Amethyst replied. "Pretty sure only five people pay attention. You, me, Toni, and two other guys who just ask the most stupidest questions."

"You were one of the smartest person at Riverdale High as well," Jughead told her. "When you actually tried, that is."

Amethyst lightly rolled her eyes and shoved him before they made their way outside. Sweet Pea looked up from the table the Serpents were all on, crouching over something and talking in hushed whispers.

"Nice article your best friend's mom wrote," Sweet Pea said.

Amethyst instantly noticed his purple eye.

"Yeah, we saw it," Jughead told him. "Dilton Doiley said he was stabbed and a bunch of you guys just jumped him?"

"Yeah, the idiot stabbed himself with his own knife," Louis told them as he looked up, and Amethyst had a clear view of the cut above his eyebrow.

"And we didn't jump him. There was a fight," Sweet Pea said. "Bulldogs versus Serpents. And you see this?" He pointed towards his purple eye. "Your boy Andrews gave it to me before his girlfriend shot a gun into the air."

Amethyst frowned. "Wait, Veronica did what?"

"And, of course, Northsiders get off scot-free, and the rest of us were hauled in by police," Sweet Pea shook his head. "It's payback time."

Jughead frowned. "What are you guys talking about?" He said, before noticing the blueprints on the table. "What is-what is that?"

Amethyst looked at the familiar drawing of a pipe bomb, knowing what it looked like due to the countless crime and army movies and shows she's watched.

"What are you doing with a pipe bomb?" She asked them, before her gaze flickered to a pissed off Toni, who looked like she wouldn't go through with the plan if it was her choice.

"Fogarty's cousin served in the army. He's gonna build us something. We'll do it after hours," Sweet Pea said with a small smirk. "It'll shut the Riverdale Register down once and for all."

But Jughead wasn't having it. "You think blowing up a building is gonna make things better?"

"It can't get any worse," Sweet Pea replied.

"Yes, Pumpkin, it can," Amethyst told him, standing tall as Sweet Pea narrowed his eyes at her.

"Let us talk to Archie and we'll figure this out," Jughead told him.

Sweet Pea scoffed. "That's your answer for everything. Talk and more talk," he shook his head. "And we don't even know who you stand with. Us? Or them? You can't be half a Serpent."

Fogarty picked up all of the blueprints and gave the pair one last look before they all walked off besides Toni and Louis.

Amethyst rubbed her temples as she sat down beside Toni and Jughead leant against the table.

"Great. So, Archie started World War lll," Jughead shook his head.

"The Northside has been dumping on us for years," Toni told them.

"Your dad was the only one who tried to keep the peace and avoid bloodshed," Louis told Jughead, before looking at Amethyst. "And your mom."

"Now that they're gone, idiots like Sweet Pea think there's one path and one solution," Toni told them. "Violence."

"And even though the plan is absolutely stupid and will get them into even more shit," Louis said, "Sweet Pea won't back out of it."

Jughead frowned at him. "I don't think I caught your name before."

Louis looked from Amethyst to Jughead, surprised that she didn't tell Jughead about the Serpent who flirted with her. "Louis Johnson," he said, holding his hand out and shaking Jughead's hand. "But my friends call me Lou or Ajax."

"Nobody calls you Ajax," Toni rolled her eyes.

"Someone will eventually. You know it," he grinned, before his eyes landed on Amethyst who was staring at the serpent tattoo on his forearm in thought.

Amethyst stared at her reflection in the mirror, just eyeing the leather jacket that she had placed on. She frowned before looking at her face.

"Why does this feel so right?" Amethyst quietly asked herself before she turned around and looked at the Serpent logo on the back.

Amethyst looked back at her face, seeing her mother's reflection looking back at her before sighing and shaking her head. She picked her phone up and then walked out of her room and out of the cabin and to where Jughead was sitting on his bike while tapping away on his phone.

Jughead looked up when he heard Amethyst lock the door and smiled as she made her way over to him.

"You look beautiful," he told her.

Amethyst sighed and then smiled lightly. "Thank you. Now let's get this show on the road."

Jughead smiled as he handed her a helmet and she got onto the back of his bike. Jughead started up the bike once Amethyst wrapped her arms around his waist and then drove off towards the White Worm,

Amethyst and Jughead walked into the White Worm with their serpent jackets on, catching the eye of Sweet Pea who was playing pool with Tall Boy.

"I think these Northsider's are lost," he piped up.

"We're not," Jughead told him. Amethyst caught Demarcus' eye who was conversing with another Serpent, and he smiled at her. "We're over being half a Serpent."

"Wow. You'll do anything to protect your Northside buddies," Sweet Pea said, shoving past Jughead.

"It's not that," Amethyst told him. "Our parents were Serpent's, so it's about time that we became one as well."

"My Father led you," Jughead told him. "We wanna stand with you guys. Tall Boy was the one who gave me this jacket."

"Demarcus gave me mine," Amethyst said. "Oh wait, sorry, DM did."

Demarcus chuckled lightly and rolled his eyes as Amethyst playfully rose her eyebrows up at him.

"And it's about time we start wearing it," Jughead finished off.

Tall Boy walked up to them. "So, now you wanna be a Serpent? Let's just see if you survive the initiation first."

"I had a funny feeling there would be one," Amethyst mumbled as Demarcus stood up and walked over to them.

Demarcus smiled as he slapped Amethyst's shoulder. "Finally giving in, huh, Misty?"

Sweet Pea chuckled. "Misty," he repeated.

Amethyst rose an eyebrow up at him. "Says you, Pumpkin."

I'm sorry I'm in love with Toni Topaz 🙌🏼👏🏼
