26. Female Robbery
I think I found hell, I think I found something
I think I found something in my TV screen
I think I found out that I have nothing
That I have nothing in this place for me
Amethyst Moore entered Riverdale High without her best friend, Jughead Jones for the first time ever. They could've met up at the entrance of the caravan park, as they both lived there, but Amethyst didn't want to face her friend that she had feelings for after what she had told her Brother the night before.
Amethyst walked towards her locker to get ready for biology and noticed Jughead leaning on it, a smile on his lips at the sight of her. Amethyst paused on the spot, took a deep breath, before turning around and walking away.
"Buttercup! Amie!" Amethyst could hear Jughead calling after her, but she continued to walk away. That was, until, a hand grabbed onto her elbow and forced her to turn around.
Jughead frowned at the sight of his best friend. Seeing her not meeting his gaze with a panicked look on her face made alarm bells ring in his head.
"Buttercup, are you alright?" Jughead asked her, not releasing his hold on her elbow.
Amethyst licked her lips. "Yeah, um alright. Why wouldn't I be alright? Nothing happened."
"Woah," Jughead said, surprised at her tone. "I was just wondering. You seemed to be a bit panicked."
"Na, I'm fine. Nothing wrong with me here," Amethyst fake laughed.
Jughead's fingers went under Amethyst's chin and he brought her head up so that she could meet his gaze. Amethyst' knees almost buckled when she looked into Jughead's eyes. She didn't know when she started fancying her best friend, but right now, she just wanted to attack his lips with her own and never stop.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Jughead asked one more time, searching her eyes for a response.
Amethyst nodded, pulling a tight smile onto her face. "At this moment, yeah, I'm fine," she replied.
Jughead hummed in response, not believing what she was saying but not wanting to press on the matter.
"I was going to check in with the murder board and stuff to see if Betty added anyone else," Jughead said. "Do you want to come with."
Amethyst was about to decline when her lips unknowingly said, "yes."
Jughead grinned and grabbed onto Amethyst's hand and pulled her towards the room.
As soon as they entered, however, they noticed the presence of two other people in the room. Principal Weatherbee and Sheriff Keller stood in front of the murder board, their gazes now trained on the two teenagers who entered the room.
Jughead was startled at their presence and placed his laptop's bag onto the ground. "Hey," he said wearily.
Amethyst pulled on a tight smile at the males.
"Hey," Sheriff Keller said.
Amethyst looked at the murder board, and then back at the Sheriff. "What's wrong?" She asked.
"I'm gonna need you two to come down to the station with me," Sheriff Keller replied, looking between the two.
Amethyst frowned, thinking back to the summer holidays to see if she remembered doing anything that revolved around Jason Blossom. Amethyst remembered one thing, but that was hardly a reason for her to be called in.
Jughead nodded and Sheriff Keller led the way out of the room with Principal Weatherbee following behind them.
The students in the hallway all stopped and looked at the two outsiders, whispering to one another about what was happening. Amethyst kept her gaze on the floor, not wanting to catch anyone's eye.
"Call my dad," Jughead suddenly said, causing Amethyst to look up at Archie and Betty.
"Yeah. Yeah, we will," Archie said.
"And call Demi as well," Amethyst told them.
"Of course," Betty said.

Amethyst sat alone in the interrogation room since they arrived at the police station ten minutes ago. She had her hands on the table and picked at her nails. She knew she didn't do anything wrong. The Sheriff just suspected her and Jughead because they were the outsiders of school with parent issues and had problems with bullies.
Sheriff Keller walked into the room with a file in his hand and sat on the opposite chair that Amethyst was sitting on.
"Morning," Sheriff said, placing the file on the table.
Amethyst looked up from her hands and into the eyes of the Sheriff, one of her friends dad. "I know this is what most people say, but I didn't have anything to do with the murder of Jason," Amethyst said.
Sheriff Keller nodded. "I'm just trying to knock down some suspects we have, and you and Jughead happen to be two of them."
Amethyst nodded at his reasoning before bringing her hands to her lap. "Forensics came back on the car," Sheriff Keller began. "Despite the fire, well, we were able to pull a pair of prints off the trunk. Yours and Betty's. Which is, of course, no surprise. But what did surprise me was this." Sheriff Keller opened up a file to a page that contained Amethyst's records. "Your prints were on file from an incident that happened six years ago where you spent some time at The Sisters of Quiet Mercy and then the Riverdale Juvenile Delinquent Centre for....." Sheriff Keller turned a page and read from a file, ".....attempting to burn down Riverdale Elementary School and acting harshly towards peers."
"My mother had just passed away," Amethyst said. "That gives me some reasoning behind acting that way towards my peers."
"And the burning down the school part?" Sheriff Keller asked.
Amethyst frowned. "I had just been told that my mother was dying from cancer," Amethyst said. "Jughead was trying to take my mind off of it and we almost burnt down the school in the process. It was an accident two ten year olds made with matches."
"Well, Principal Weatherbee also allowed me to have a look at your school records," Keller said, turning the pages on some old school reports. "You and Jughead both have a long and rough history, Miss Moore. Bullied a lot by the football team in particular. I can only assume that would have included Jason Blossom."
Amethyst chuckled. "Jughead and I are weird and outsiders who live in a caravan park near the Southside. That's who the football team target. Jason was in the football team, but he had hardly anything to do with the bullying. He almost acted as if he hated what the rest of his team were doing, even going so far as to stop them a few times," she said. "If I was going to kill anyone, which I wouldn't in the first place, it wouldn't have been Jason."
Sheriff Keller licked his lips. "I believe what you're saying."
Amethyst chuckled. "No, you don't."
"If you tell me your whereabouts on the week of July 11th, then yes, I might believe you," he said.
Amethyst looked down at her hands. "That week would've been my mother's 39th birthday," she said. "I was with my older brother, Demarcus all week. Ask him."
"I will." Amethyst frowned. "He's right outside." Amethyst's lips parted in shock that her brother actually came. "You can go wait outside while I have a talk with your brother and then Jughead."
Amethyst nodded and walked out of the room with Sheriff Keller
