"Alan?"

It was a week after Alan and Sophia decided they wanted to start dating. Alan had stayed the night since they were both going to a late service the next day for church. Sophia and Alan had fallen asleep on the couch, so when she woke up, she didn't see him anywhere.

She got up and stretched before seeing the bathroom light on under the door. She sat back down on the couch after she heard the toilet flush and the sink running softly. Alan came out in his long-sleeved t-shirt and sweatpants.

"Soph.. what are you doing awake...?"

Soph, that was the nickname he used often in the last week. She loved it

"I woke up and couldn't find you... sorry"

He sighed sleepily and joined her back on the couch, pulling her back into his chest.

"Don't apologize... I didn't think you'd wake up..."

She snuggled back into him. She was wide awake now. Alan on the other hand was dozing off.

"Alan..?"

"Hm..?"

"Thanks for staying over.."

"Of course.."

He nuzzled his face in the crook of her neck and she felt more at peace. She turned around in his arms, he watched her with a confused look on his face until he realized what she was doing. He held her close, her head on his chest as she relaxed more.

"Comfy?"

"Mhm..."

She fell asleep finally in his arms, her face smushed against his chest as her breathing evened out. He sighed softly as he held her. He had been with other women, sure. But Sophia was different, she was kind and selfless.

The next morning Alan and Sophia decided to watch church online and just stay home. She took a shower and got into some sweatpants and a T-shirt. Alan just changed into some jeans and a sweatshirt.

They watched a few episodes of Friends before ordering a pizza and then taking a nap later on.

"Hey... what are you doing tomorrow after work?"

"Um... coming home and sleeping?"

Sophia chuckled softly.

"You?"

"I was thinking I could stay over again?"

"Again? But won't you miss your bed?"

"I think, I'll miss you being in my arms more..."

He had a look in his eyes. Something serious. She could feel it.

"Okay, yeah, I'd love you to come over"

She smiled and he returned that smile with a soft kiss to her lips. By the night's end, Alan had gone home to get some sleep before work the next morning.

When Sophia showed up at work, Alan met her in the back room and kissed her cheek as she put her stuff away.

"Morning cutie"

She smiled softly.

"Morning handsome"

Brad walked in and grimaced and yelled back at Dan.

"The love birds are making out again!"

Sophia and Alan laughed softly before they started their day.

Was this the beginning of maybe something than just a relationship? Could Sophia be the one for Alan? Could Alan be the one for Sophia?
