Lloyd POV

"So let me get this strait, you found the people who we had been looking for, followed them back to their base, got found out, got chased through the forest, and then you fought three of them, and you were loosing which caused you to turn into your dragon form and show them what you really look like?" Ashley summarizes what I just told everyone. I sigh.

"Yes, all of that happened."

"You still haven't explained what you did to your hands." Katelyn gestures to my bandaged hands.

"Oh I can tell you that." Haru says. "He got mad at himself for screwing up so he punched a poor tree until his knuckles bled."

I just look at him. "I told you I know you better than you think." Is all he says.

"Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Katie asks me, concerned.  "What if you'd gotten hurt?"

"I didn't want to tell anyone because it was 2 AM and we all had different things on our minds at the time." I explain to them.

She sighs.  "Okay, just... please don't hide this kind of stuff from me." I only look at her.

"Why are you so concerned?  I was only punching a tree." And busting it down with one kick... 

"Because I know how you get!  You get all down on yourself for 'failing' and then you get upset."

"Alright, I promise I'll come to you next time." I tell her reassuringly.  She doesn't look too convinced.

"Um, hate to interrupt your sibling bonding moment," Haru says.  "But we have a bunch of random people to meet?" He says, turning to Splenda.

"Yes Haru, we do." She says in return.  These people have volunteered to help you gain control of your powers because they are also elemental masters. They have the same goal as we do, defeating the Overlord.  You will train with them and we will help them in their mission."

"Splenda, how do you know these people? I get the feeling you know where they're from." Katie asks.

"Yeah," I agree. "These people spoke Ninjagian. How is that so?"

She sighs and leans back in her chair. "Well, you've heard about the legend of another island called Ninjago, correct?" We all nod. "Well, the island isn't a legend. The island is a real place full of millions of people. The place is so unlike ours, they use technology in almost everything on a daily basis. They don't live the lifestyle we do, and they don't know we exist, except for the few people we are meeting today. I use to live in Ninjago myself and that's where I met my old friends, Wu and Garmadon. They are brothers and very interesting people if I do say so myself."

"When I was 16, my village was burnt down due to a terrorist attack and I was forced to live on my own. But, they found me, took me in, and helped me get back on my feet. After a year and a half or so I was back on my feet and went to live out the rest of my time in Ninjago in a small farming village off the coast. The brothers had taught me all kinds of martial arts during my stay, and I practiced those arts for the rest of my life freely up to now. But, my second village was attacked as well after a few years of me living there. I had run all the way up to a cliff and I was blown into the ocean by an explosion. Next thing I knew, I was washed up onto the shores on this island, and I've lived here ever since."

We stare at her in complete silence. None of us have ever known of her backstory. We had always assumed she was born and raised on the island. "After all these years," she continues. "I finally get to see the brothers once again and catch up with them. After all, they helped me when I was at my lowest point."

"That's insane." Ashley tells her. "Ninjago is real, and you're a Ninjagian!"

"Wait, your elemental power is foreseeing destiny, right?" She nods. "Is this why you pushed us to learn Ninjagian? Did you know we would encounter your old friends?" My sister asks.  She thinks for a moment.

"I knew you would one day need to know Ninjagian and you would one day possibly go to Ninjago yourselves, but I must admit I didn't know if this visit would ever come. I was just hoping it would."

"This is all very surprising and I am interested in meeting these people, but do I really have to meet them like this?" Haru says, gesturing to himself.  "Unless you can turn back before we leave, then yes." Splenda replies.  Haru huffs.

"When do we leave?" I ask her.

"Right now." She turns and starts for the door. "Wait, what?!" We reply in unison.

~~~time skip~~~

We arrive on the eastern beach where we first saw these people. We take our place in the center of the beach and wait. We stand alert in case of any unwanted visitors. Haru just lays on the sand and sighs. "Man! I hate being a dog!" He says.

"It's your own fault for imagining yourself as a dog, Haru." Ashley says sitting down next to him and stroking the fur on his back. "It's not my fault I don't have control over my powers!" He says in return. Ashley just scratches behind his ear which changes his mood entirely.

"Man, I wish I could do this all the time to change your mood!" She says. He pulls away from her hand.

"Shut up." Ash just laughs and kisses him on the head.

"Love you too."

I look at the sun's position in the sky. "Where are they? I assume they should have been here by now?" I say to Splenda.

She scratches her cheek. "It is odd," She says. "But I know my old friend would never go back on his word."

Kai POV

We walk through the dense forest as we make our way to where we first docked the bounty. All eight of us walk in a straight line as Zane takes the front, cutting away any foliage that is too dense to get by with his shurikins. Zane has been digitally mapping the island during patrols, so he has the best chance of getting us to our destination. We finally see the forest come to a stop and we step out onto the white sand. The wind blows around us and Zane directs us across the beach. After a while, Jay speaks up. "You sure you know where you're going Zane?"

"Never doubt a nindroid." He tells him while not taking his eyes off of what's in front of him. In the distance we see a group of people and we duck back into the forest to creep our way up towards them just in case they aren't who they say they are. We are close enough to them where we can hear a conversation going on between the small group.

"Man! I hate being a dog!" A voice comes from... a dog?!?

"Did that dog just speak?" Cole says to no one in particular. A girl with beautiful chocolate skin and sleek black hair sits down next to the dog and strokes it's back.

"It's your own fault for imagining yourself as a dog, Haru." She says.

"Are they seriously speaking another language?" Nya asks.

"It's not my fault I don't have control over my powers!" The dog says in return. The girl scratches behind his ear and he suddenly looks happier.

"Man, I wish I could do this all the time to change your mood!" She says. The dog pulls away from her hand.

"Shut up." Whatever he said must have been interesting because she just laughs and kisses him on the head.

"Love you too."

"I have no idea what they're saying." Zane says.

"I wasn't lying when I said they don't speak our language." Misako says sweetly. That's when I notice the blonde boy from before. I grab Garmadon and Misako's attention and point to him. The others pick up my gaze and look as well. "Hey, that's the guy from before! The one who grew wings!" Cole says.

"Oh come on Cole, you were just seeing things." Jay tells him. "No I wasn't! Nya and Kai also saw it!" The two argue while the couple follows my point and look at him. At first they aren't sure but I can see hope in their eyes.

"Where are they? I assume they should have been here by now?" He says while looking up at the sky. This must be why he didn't talk during our fight. He speaks another language. I wonder what they're talking about.

"It is odd," The woman from last night, Splenda I think, replies to him.  Apparently she's bilingual. "But I know my old friend would never go back on his word."

The other girl who has pale skin and brown hair sighs. "This is so boring." She looks at the boy. "Wanna race back and forth from that tree back to here?" She says pointing to a far away tree.

"Maybe later." He says back. The girl has a disappointed look on her face. "You're no fun."

Master Wu tells us it's time and we emerge from the forest. Instantly, the three young adults take out weapons out of nowhere and point them at us. We stop in our tracks. The blonde one then realizes his mistake and says something to make the other two put their weapons away. During all of this, Splenda just stands there.

"Wu, Garmadon," she says after her students have put away their weapons. "It's so good to see you once again." She says as we walk towards the group.

"It's been quite a while hasn't it?" Garmadon tells her. She bows her head respectfully. "Indeed."

Lloyd POV

That Jay guy suddenly pops up in front of us and begins to talk loudly and slowly. "Heloooo! My name is Jaaay! What is yoooouuurs?" His teammates behind him cringe in embarrassment and the adults just look at him with odd looks.

Ashley turns to me. "Do you want to tell him or should I?" She says in Ninjagian. Realization washes over him and he apologizes in embarrassment and he is pulled back by his collar by the black ninja.

"Sorry about him, he's got problems." He tells us.

"HEY-" Jay starts to tell him but is cut off. "I'm Cole by the way." He sticks out his hand.  I take it. 

"I'm Lloyd.  That's my twin sister, Katelyn, and my friends Ashley and Haru." He looks down at Haru in confusion. 

"Oh, right, I kind of had some trouble with my elemental powers and I don't know how to change back.  I'm human, don't worry." Haru reassures him.  Cole nods slowly.

"Okay, well this is Jay, Kai, Zane, and Nya."  They wave and I look over at the adults. 

"I'm guessing you're Wu, Garmadon, and Misako?"  The one with the long white beard nods but the one with gray hair and green eyes just stares at me.  Misako has her hand gripping his shoulder.  They both look like they're in complete disbelief.  I'm about to ask if they're okay but Cole asks me a question.

"By the way, what was with that whole growing wings thing? I've never seen anything like that before!"

Jay rolls his eyes. "For the last time Cole, you were just seeing things!"

"No I wasn't! I saw it happen right before my eyes! So did Kai and Nya! Are you doubting you're girlfriend and her brother?"

"It never happened! And you can't prove it!" After he says that I back away to get some room and I slowly pull out my wings and tail. Everyone except my team looks at me in complete shock.

Cole then suddenly speaks up. "HA! I knew it! I knew it all along! Eat dirt Jay!" He gloats.

"That's incredible! The webbing on your wings looks like pure gold!" Zane observes. "So does your tail scales and the fur! How is this possible?"

"Not sure. This just happened one day when Katie and I were 10. Things have never really been the same since."

"Wait, her is one too?" Kai asks.

In response my sister pulls out her wings and tail. Everyone gawks at our features and mentions quite a few times how different we look. The whole time Ashley and Haru tell them stories about how we learned to fly, which was a disaster on multiple occasions, and everyone laughs. I look over at the adults and notice Misako and the gray haired man are crying; I'm pretty sure he is Garmadon. I turn to Splenda.

"Are they okay?" I whisper to her in Dark Islander. She looks at me with sympathy.

"I don't know." She replies. "They've been like that since they got here, or more like since they saw you and Katelyn." Me and Katelyn? What could we have done to make them so upset?

"But, we didn't do anything, we've never even met these people before, so how could we have upset them?"

She only shakes her head. "I don't know." I look back over to the group and see them messing around and having fun. "You should be getting back. We have to move on to the next phase of our meet." I nod and I put away my dragon features. Katelyn sees this and she puts hers away too.

I walk over to them. "By the way, um, sorry for the whole, 'spying on you and spying and fighting you' thing." I tell them.  But to be fair, they fought me first.

"You're good man." Kai says. His voice is so smooth... and he's so handsome... THE FU— why do I keep thinking of this stuff!?!? Shut up brain!!! I mentally slap myself in the face as I thank him and join the others, keeping my distance from him. Splenda and Wu join us but Garmadon and Misako are nowhere in sight.

"Where are Sensei Garmadon and Misako?" Zane asks the two.

"They went back to the bounty, they will join us later." Wu says.  "So, Splenda has told me about you're elemental troubles, especially yours Haru."  Haru scratches his neck with his paw.  I pick him up so he can be eye level with the man; He doesn't object.  "Haru, you must focus if you want to use your element correctly.  Imagine yourself as a human, and put all of your heart into wanting to turn into a human, make it your desire."

Haru closes his eyes.  The red puppy begins to glow and not a second later his once small form turns into a tall human.  He grows large in my arms and I collapse with him on top of me.  (No he is not naked ;-;).

He sits up while still on top of me and looks at everyone.  "So this is what you look like."  Nya says.  He gives her a thumbs up in response. 

"GET OFF ME." I sternly tell him as I shove him off of me.

"Oh what?  Don't like that I topped you?" He teases me as I stand up and brush myself off.  I stare at him with a look that would definitely kill you if looks could kill.  The others just laugh as I punch him hard in the arm.  Haru clutches his arm in pain as I look unsympathetically at the two teachers.

"Okay, now what?" I ask them.

Kai POV

"Okay, now what?" Lloyd asks the two teachers.

"Well, Splenda has told me you and Haru have shown signs of your powers.  Haru's were him turning into a dog, what about the rest of you?" He asks everyone.  For the next few minutes, he and his twin explain that they don't have just one power, but multiple.  Which I never even knew was possible.  Apparently, Lloyd is the master of multiple elements, Katelyn is the master of light and dark elements, Haru is the master of animal shapeshifting, and Ashley is the master of healing.  I never even knew more than one element was a thing.  We then go on to tell them about our elements.

"It's early in the day and there is much to do." Wu says after we've all talked about our elements.  "It is time we've seen these elements in the works.  Your training starts in an hour at our base.  Understood?" He says to us.  Everyone agrees and we go off in our separate directions.  Hard to believe we are going to become teachers.  We make it back to base and get things ready for training.

Garmadon POV

"It was them...  it truly was them, Garmadon."  My wife says to me.  "I can't believe this."

"Me neither..." I say to her.  "How do we break it to them?  How do we break it to everyone?  How are we going to approach them?  Oh Misako, they even have the same names we gave them at birth!"

"Perhaps they still have the pendents we gave them.  The ones we engraved their names on when they were born.  There is no way someone could have named them the same names we gave them."  I completely forgot about the pendents.  They use to be ours but after the twins were born we gave the pendants to them.

"Maybe they do...". I tell her.  Wu suddenly walks through the door and greets us with his usual smile.

"How are you two feeling?" He asks us.

"It's them, Wu." Misako tells him.  "After all these years, how are we going to tell them?"

My brother strokes his beard in thought.  "It is up to you, but I am sure you will make the right decision what the time comes.  For now, though, the four are coming to the base to begin their training, and I would like your help, brother."  I look up at him and then stand up.

"I will help."  I tell him.  He nods.  "They will be here in less than an hour, and there is much to do." He informs me.

"We will do it together." I say back to him.  I kiss my wife and we make our way down the hallway. Someday, I will approach my long lost children and I will embrace them in my arms, but for now, I will have them focus on the task at hand: getting use to their powers.  Only then will we be at our true potential, and we will defeat the overlord.  Only then, will I get to tell my children I love them.
