5 - Harry

~*~*Draco's POV*~*~

"Your fur is so soft and beautiful. I wonder if your hair feels like this. Even as a small little kitten you're so warm." I was talking to myself really because Harry had fallen asleep.

I didn't want to wake him but I was also curious about our potion. I know I was the one who had messed up but I had been distracted. After the test I had done Harry had missed days of school. Then he came back and was acting like he had in third year. It broke my heart but I fought back.

Nothing Blaise said helped either and then the next thing I knew I was losing my balance and the potion I messed up was all over Harry. I saw tears in his eyes before he disappeared from view. In his place was an adorable little kitten. I knew it was actually him though.

Its fur was dark and unruly just like his hair. Its eyes were a deep green just like his. Its attitude... I think you get the picture. I wanted nothing more than to cradle him in my arms. He looked terrified and frustrated all at the same time. I was surprised none of his friends had stayed behind.

Harry seemed really hurt by that and he was completely terrified of Severus. I couldn't blame him for that though I knew Severus and I was scared of him sometimes. When Severus left Harry tried to make a break for it. When he failed he cried which isn't actually cute when a cat does it.

I did what I could to comfort him and I found out that he knew I was faking that whole time the other day. Even after I explained myself I still felt embarrassed. So embarrassed that I really couldn't move. Even when Harry nuzzled my hand. When I could move he was right by my face and I couldn't resist the urge to bury my face in his fur.

I wanted to hex the house elf for scaring him away. Harry was so damn adorable though that my anger was almost non-existent. Even when he pouted because I couldn't understand he wanted to be in my lap. Even when he fell asleep while I was feeding him. Even now as I tried to get to our desk without waking him.

I eventually managed to get a hold of my book and notes. The potion we were making was supposed to be a simple transformation potion. It was like the potion used when one becomes an animagus but much less permanent and much much more harmless. The effect - if done right - would turn the drinker into their animagus form for 30 minutes.

Considering the fact that it was already lunch, Harry should have turned back to normal almost an hour ago. Each ingredient had its own effect. I had added too many dragon scales. As a result Harry wasn't turned into his would-be animagus, he was turned into something that represented his core personality. Wait... What?

I read through my notes again and did the calculations again. I knew I was right but I had to make sure. I couldn't believe that this cute little fluffy feisty kitten was Harry's core personality. The feisty part I could see. The cute part I've always seen. It was the little fluffy and kitten part that had me baffled.

The door opened with a bang and Harry jumped up. I managed to grab him before he got away. Severus frowned at us before looking into our cauldron. Harry was hissing and clawing at him, probably moody for being woken.

I soothed Harry as I sat down in my seat. "Why hasn't it worn off yet? I only added too many dragon scales. Also I don't think Harry will be okay with others figuring out he's a Little."

Harry scratched me and started to whine. Severus frowned at me and looked at Harry. I didn't know if he figured it out yet and maybe Harry had been trying to hide it still.

"How did you figure that out?" Severus asked in a bored tone.

"I did research on the effects and figured it out because of how he acts and some calculations." I shrugged.

"Make him shut up then." Severus frowned.

I looked at Harry who was still whining. "Harry, it's okay. I won't tell anyone and I'll take care of you. Severus just needs to know so he can work on getting you fixed. Not that being Little is a bad thing. I think it's cute."

Harry stopped struggling and whining and looked at me. I smiled slightly at him and he nuzzled my neck. Severus raised an eyebrow at me and turned back to the cauldron. That look alone told me that he hadn't figured out Harry was a Little.

By the time dinner came around Harry was still a kitten but he was more comfortable with me. He stopped trying to act tough and let me take care of him. I had to promise him that I'd put him down when we got to the Hall though. Harry would always be Harry I guess. Even if he was a Little.

"Where's Harry!?"

"Right here Granger." I held him in front of me.

He didn't seem too pleased with that though as he hissed and tried to scratch me.

"Well then give him here, Malfoy."

"Nah. I think I'm going to hold onto him, Weasel." I shrugged.

I turned on my heel and almost crashed into Severus. I hadn't realized he followed us out. I hadn't even realized he had been right behind me the whole time.

"What's going on here?" Severus raised an eyebrow.

"Granger and Weasley wanted me to give them Harry." I said.

"Didn't I tell you he was your responsibility?"

Severus and I both knew that was a lie and so did Harry. If Harry really wanted to be with his friends I was sure he would have leapt from my arms by now. It wasn't like I was holding him back. Harry nuzzled into my chest knowing that he was hidden between Severus and I.

"Find your seat Draco." Severus said and walked away.

"Hey. You can't kidnap Harry like that!" Weasley yelled.

"He's free to join you whenever he wants. Just watch." I smirked and went to sit down.

I set Harry down on the table and started putting food on my plate. Harry sat and watched me while the entire Hall was watching him. When I was done dishing food I took Blaise's goblet and filled it with water for Harry. Harry sniffed the cup and knocked it over. He nudged my cup and I shook my head.

"So. Cold meat, bread, or fruit. Which do you want?" I asked Harry and poured water into my own goblet.

Harry immediately went for the water and then tried to bite the mango on my plate. I smiled and shook my head before gently pushing him away. He sat and waited patiently as I cut the mango up for him. I made myself a sandwich and I fed him mango pieces while I ate. Every now and again he'd go back for the water until it was empty.

"Damn he really isn't interested in going back to his friends." Blaise laughed and patted my shoulder.

He reached towards Harry and Harry hissed at him. I was pretty sure that if Blaise had been closer Harry would have actually bitten him. I was also a little proud that Harry only allowed me close to him. I pushed Blaise's hand away and scratched behind Harry's ear. He started purring and I swear the collective gasp from everyone was better than presents on Christmas morning.

"Harry, that's enough! What did he do to you?" Granger was standing across from me.

"All I did was stay behind after class." I rolled my eyes.

"He's a Death Eater, Harry." Granger said and threw her hands up.

Harry growled - or rather attempted to - at her. I ate the rest of my food while everyone else watched Granger trying to talk to a cat. It wasn't that Harry didn't understand but he couldn't respond and I had spent the better part of my day trying to understand what he wanted.

"Well then, are you full Harry? Or do you want more fruit? I'm not taking anything for later." I raised an eyebrow.

Harry whined and I shook my head. He nudged the goblet and I refilled it. He then nudged an apple and tilted his head. I reached to cut it up and he snapped at my hand.

"Stop being a spoiled brat, Harry. I said I'm not taking anything for later." He tilted his head and whined. "No."

Harry huffed and pushed the apple towards me. I cut it up and he pulled the plate away from me. I watched him a little amused by this latest tantrum. He sat with his back towards me and ate most of the pieces I cut.

"Well, since you're mad I'm just going to leave." I said.

Harry immediately turned towards me and jumped onto me. I took a few of the leftover pieces as he climbed up my shoulder. I grabbed my things and fed Harry the pieces I took. I knew he was hungry but he was being stubborn. That's why I had to force him to eat there or not at all. While Harry was distracted with a piece of apple I pocketed some grapes and a peach.

"I thought you just said..."

"I know what I said Granger. Does it look like I'm interested in your opinion? Your friend clearly doesn't care about it, so why should I? Now, if you would just leave me alone." I rolled my eyes.

Harry nipped at my face and I handed him the last piece of apple before walking away. For such a tiny creature he could surely eat quite a lot. Not that I thought it was a bad thing.
