35 - Starting Over
~*~*Draco's POV*~*~
I honestly hadn't been very fair to Harry the last few weeks. I finally understood everything and his reasoning for it all but I was hurt. I loved him more than anything and that was kind of why I was being such an asshole. I had missed out so many things while he stayed away as well.
It was about time I got over my fear of him leaving again. Besides, I needed to apologize for my behaviour and make up for the time we lost. I had a plan for a surprise date and I was pretty excited about it. I guess I was mostly just hoping Harry would forgive me for being an ass.
"So where exactly are we going?" Harry asked.
"It's nowhere special really." I shrugged. "We're just going to the quidditch field for a date."
Harry grinned at me and stopped. I stopped and frowned at him. He jumped onto me and I almost fell. I quickly corrected myself and carried on walking towards the field. It warmed my heart to know that he was still the same even though I was horrible to him. He was still my little kitten.
"What's that?" Harry asked and jumped off of me.
"Our date." I shrugged. "Did you think I was bringing you out here for nothing? Or what?"
"This is so sweet, Dragon!" Harry grinned and sat down.
I sat down next to him with a smile. "Well I'm glad because it's the best thing I could think of for an apology."
Harry smiled and opened the basket. "You don't need to apologize for anything you know."
"But I do Kitten. I've been an ass to you." I ran my fingers through his hair and his ears popped up.
"I wasn't worried about it. I knew that I hurt you when I left." Harry shrugged and moved to straddle me.
I couldn't help the smile on my face as he leaned forward and connected our lips. Harry's fingers brushed through my hair and I held onto his waist. I licked his bottom lip and he opened his mouth for me. He pulled away for air and smiled at me.
"So I'm forgiven then?" I asked.
"Yes." Harry laughed. "What did you bring to eat? I'm hungry."
He climbed off me and started digging through the basket. I watched him as he picked at the different foods I packed. Couldn't say I was surprised when I noticed him only eating the fruit. I ate one of the sandwiches that I had packed as well.
I really just loved watching Harry enjoy himself. The smile on his face made it all worth it. It was just the two of us and it felt great. I really didn't want it to end. We spoke and ate and laughed and acted like fools. I hadn't realized how late it had gotten until the sun was gone.
"Harry, we should probably get back." I ran my fingers through his hair again.
"I don't want to. I don't want this day to end." Harry pouted.
"I don't want you getting sick. Or even me. I promise we can do this again sometime. Only if we go inside now." I shrugged.
Harry sighed and stood up. We packed everything up and started to walk back to the castle.
"We should take Scorpious on a picnic." Harry hugged my arm a little bit tighter. "I mean I know he's..."
"That's a great idea, love." I said and kissed his forehead.
We still pretty much had to use the Room of Requirement to still be with each other so it wasn't much of an issue staying out so long. Except Harry and I were talking about Scorpious (mostly Harry talking) and neither of us expected to walk in and see our friends. Clearly the wrong impression was received.
"Have you been cheating on Draco!?" Blaise and Pansy were eager to jump to my defense.
"Harry would never." Ronald and Granger yelled in his defense.
Harry and I looked at each other and I swear we had the exact same thought. We smirked at each other and acted accordingly. Harry let go of me and I stumbled towards Blaise and Pansy. Harry basically dropped to the ground and crawled towards Ronald and Granger. It was too entertaining for us not to pretend.
"Oh it's just absolutely horrible Blaise. My heart ripped from my chest." I groaned and let myself flop onto him.
"I swear Hermione, he's got it all wrong." Harry almost sounded like he wanted to cry.
"The pain!" I cried out. "All this time waiting and he has moved on without me. Oh the horror!"
"It's nothing like that. I swear he's the only one." Harry complained. "Scorpious is just... Well everything to me."
We both ended up bursting out in laughter. Our friends' expressions didn't do anything to calm us down. Harry and I managed to make our way to our bed and we both just dropped onto it. Eventually we calmed down enough to sit up.
"So... Harry really did cheat?" Granger asked.
"No." I shook my head.
"But who's Scorpious?" Pansy frowned.
"My son." Harry shrugged and I raised an eyebrow. "Our son."
"You have a kid!?" Ronald and Blaise yelled.
Harry shrugged and moved closer to me. "Yeah. Sorta kidnapped him from some Death Eaters."
I rolled my eyes. "Harry enough toying with them."
"Fine! Party popper." Harry pouted. "Scorpious is actually our son. He's currently being looked after by Molly."
"My mother is looking after your son? I call bullshit." Ronald frowned and crossed his arms.
Harry shrugged. "Well you'll see during the Christmas break. I asked if Draco could come back with me and she said yes."
I frowned at him. "You never told me that."
Harry grinned. "Well I wasn't sure if you wanted to meet him."
"You're a fucking idiot." I shook my head and mumbled.
My mind basically switched off after that. Harry spoke to everyone while I listened and tried to picture meeting Scorpious. Would he be afraid of me? Would I connect with him? By Harry's information and my estimation Scorpious was about 3 months old... I think. Either way he had only known Harry up until Harry returned to Hogwarts.
I don't know when everyone else had left. All I knew was that I was snapped out of my thoughts by Harry jumping on me. He accidentally hit our heads together and burst out laughing when I complained. If Scorpious had even half of Harry's personality I could only imagine what a handful they'd be.
"So Christmas with the Weasley's. How are you going to explain that one?" Harry asked with an oddly big smile.
"I'll just tell my mother. She knows we are together." I shrugged.
"You told her?" Harry actually sounded surprised.
"I was depressed and not eating, Harry. She saw your letter so I told her what she needed to know." I shrugged.
"Did you tell her about me being..." Harry looked really worried.
"No I didn't. I wasn't sure if you were going to keep Scorpious yet so I couldn't tell her." I shrugged.
Harry sighed and wrapped his arms around my waist. I kissed his forehead and pulled him closer. Nothing else was said because there was nothing else to say. I had enjoyed our day out and I was pretty sure Harry had too. I almost couldn't believe it had only been a little over a year since everything had happened.
