34 - The End
~*~*Harry's POV*~*~
*~*~10 Months Later~*~*
I was so exhausted mostly mentally and not so much physically. Running and hiding and searching for all of Tom's horcruxes was a lot harder than I imagined. Sure two of them were in Dumbledore's possession, but one was a complete fake. Unfortunately I couldn't do much with trying to fix the journal because I had already destroyed it.
I had expected the ring to be an easy one but it was probably the hardest one of all. The locket was the second hardest to figure out. I eventually figured out that the smaller the piece of his soul was the easier it was to "fix". The hardest horcrux to get to was the last one since I only found out about Nagini last week.
The biggest issue I had was going after it since Tom was basically living in Malfoy Manor. I knew Severus couldn't help me with this one either and even though school had started again I didn't want to accidentally run into Draco's parents. I was quite literally camped a few yards outside the place.
I tried thinking about ways to get inside without being noticed. Or even a way to get Nagini outside. I didn't want to give up on my mission just yet but I was beginning to think that I might not have a choice. Besides, I was also drawing a lot of attention to myself because I wasn't alone anymore.
I sighed and packed up my things. "Guess I'm going back."
I was honestly kind of glad that I ended up outside of Malfoy Manor. Making it back to platform 9¾ was actually really easy and it was a lot easier making it back to my aunt and uncle's house. I needed my broom and some other stuff so I snuck in while they were away. It kind of looked like they were moving.
"Harry?"
"Oh hi aunt Petunia." I jumped slightly.
"Yes. A fresh start now that you're basically finishing at Hogwarts." She shrugged. "What are you doing here?"
*Just getting my stuff for Hogwarts." I shrugged back.
She raised an eyebrow. "And who is that?"
I looked where she was pointing. "Ammm that's Scorpious."
"Why is there a baby with you Harry?" She squinted her eyes.
"Because he's my baby." I shrugged.
Her eyes grew and she moved her mouth like she wanted to say something. I honestly found it kind of comical but I was also glad that she wasn't screaming. I didn't need Scorpious to wake up anytime soon. I was still trying to figure out what to do with him. I wasn't sure how Molly would feel about looking after him for a while. I wasn't looking for anything permanent.
Petunia scoffed and left. I picked up Scorpious after shrinking my baggage and other stuff and left. Molly had pretty much the same shocked expression when I showed up on her doorstep with Scorpious. It took a while but she eventually agreed to take care of him for me. With that I finally returned to Hogwarts.
*~*~*~*~*
I hadn't spoken to Draco mainly because that annoying spell was still stopping me from going into the Slytherin dorm. He wasn't even coming out of there either. Even though it had only been a week I was basically camping outside of the Slytherin dorm with my invisibility cloak.
After Dumbledore was found dead McGonagall had been given the principal role after Severus turned it down. I honestly expected him to be punished for not taking the role but from what I've heard Tom has actually been changing. I felt bad for basically destroying half his soul but at that point in time I didn't know better.
"Draco!" My head shot up.
Blaise and Parkinson were basically dragging Draco from the dorm. I almost started laughing but somehow managed to keep quiet. Draco didn't seem at all pleased.
"You need to eat something. You're ghostly." Blaise frowned.
"You need some sun as well. Look at you." Parkinson added.
"Seriously fuck off guys. Leave me alone. I eat enough."
I took the opportunity to include myself and I jumped onto Draco's back. He basically fell to the floor. He turned around to probably hex me or swear but his expression changed from furious to shocked when he saw me.
"They're right, you know. You used to be able to carry me." I smiled down at him.
Draco sat up and almost pushed me off of him. He caught me as quickly as it happened and his hands cupped my cheeks. I was about to say something else when my lips were covered by his. I smiled a little and kissed him back. Draco broke the kiss a few seconds later and just stared at me.
"Dray?" I questioned.
"I didn't want to hope that you were actually here." Draco sighed. "I spent the entire first month searching for you."
"I only got back last week." I shrugged.
I got off of Draco and we both stood up. He wrapped me in a tight hug like he was afraid of letting me go. I hugged him back just enjoying the feeling of being in his arms again. I really missed this and it felt so right.
"Well are you going to eat something now or what?" Blaise asked.
Draco slowly let go of me and nodded his head. He took my hand and I basically latched onto his arm. I hadn't realized it until Draco wiped my cheek, I was actually crying. We went to the Hall and sat down to eat. It was fairly quiet and I mostly picked at my own food while Draco ate.
I lifted Draco's arm and poked at it. I was glad to see that he hadn't scratched it recently. Of course I wasn't sure about the months I wasn't around but there were no new scars or marks. Draco took hold of my hand and lifted it to his mouth. He kissed my hand and went back to eating.
"You didn't..."
"No Harry. I wanted to but I couldn't." Draco sighed. "Please eat."
I nodded my head and started to actually eat. It felt a little awkward being back honestly. Well there were two reasons for it being awkward. Firstly, I had never really been away from Scorpious for this long. The second reason was that I didn't know what to say to Draco after everything that had happened.
"So where have you been Harry?" Blaise asked.
Draco gave him an annoyed look and he shrugged.
"I mean we've all been wondering the same thing." Parkinson said.
"Didn't Ron tell you?" I asked Blaise.
He shrugged but didn't answer my question. Blaise and Parkinson kept looking between Draco and I. I wasn't sure how much of the situation Draco had told his friends. Last I knew was that I had only told Neville and Draco had told Severus. Draco rolled his eyes and stood up.
"Can we go talk? Alone." Draco asked and glared at Blaise.
"Sure." I shrugged and took his hand.
Draco led me out of the Hall and all the way to the Room of Requirement. I was a little surprised by the complete silence between us. Draco let me walk in first and closed the door behind us. He didn't say anything as we just stood there.
"I think I get it now." Draco sighed.
"What?"
"The reason you left. You were hunting down those horcruxes weren't you? All the times you spoke about helping him." Draco shrugged. "I just don't get why you chose to leave without me."
I shrugged as well. "I didn't want to burden you."
Draco forced a laugh and shook his head. "Really? Harry I've been in a state of terror ever since the end of last year. I didn't know if you were okay and then I'd randomly feel like you're dying and it made things worse. How was leaving supposed to not burden me exactly? You were fucking gone and... I didn't even know if you chose to get rid of..."
"Scorpious." I stated and tilted my head. "His name is Scorpious and I was terrified every single day. He's the reason I fought to survive every day without you. I never meant to hurt you Draco but I knew that I wouldn't have been able to do any of it if you were with me. I rely on you way more than I care to admit."
"Scorpious?" Draco frowned. "Who... Why..."
"He is the little baby Molly Weasley is currently looking after. He has silver eyes and a mess of unruly dark hair. He's a rather quiet baby except when he doesn't get his way or when he wants attention. He was born two months premature but you'd never really believe that." I sighed. "Severus said that you once told him you wanted to name your first son Scorpious."
Draco was staring at me in shock. I wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my head against him. He slowly wrapped his arms around me and hugged me back. Honestly my mission wasn't complete but I had a feeling that the last part would be easier with Draco by my side.
"I didn't tell Blaise or Pansy." Draco sighed. "I couldn't bring myself to tell my mother either."
"I only told Neville." I shrugged. "We can tell our friends during the Christmas holidays. For right now I need to catch up so that I don't fail the year. That would be a disaster."
Draco started to laugh and I held onto him tighter.
