• (Lucy's POV) •

I was in maths class, Natsu stood by the door watching me, like always. Suddenly, a note landed on my desk, so I unfolded it and read it.

Meet me outside when maths is finished, I need to speak with you. Alone.

I got out my pen and started to write on the back.

But Natsu is with me, the Dragons Contract says that he can't let me out of his sight.

I handed the note back to Sting, who sat behind me, and a few seconds later I found a new piece of paper on my desk.

Tell him you need to speak to me then, he can keep an eye on you from a distance.

~ Sting

I was about to write back when I heard the teacher.
"Sting Eucliffe, Lucy Heartfilia, care to read out what's on that note?" He asked cockily. The class all cooed and I saw Natsu glare at Sting.
"It says," I began, clearing my throat. " 'Did we have any homework Lucy?' 'No, we did not' 'Okay, thanks' " The Eucliffe's and the Heartfilia's were the two richest families in Fiore, so the teacher took my word for it.

"Okay class, try to complete equation 5" the teacher said. Throughout the rest of the class, I could feel the tension between Sting and Natsu.

"Hey Natsu," I said. Maths was over and it was break time now. "I need to speak to Sting for a minute, could you please wait here?" He glared at me, but then nodded.
"Don't run off or I'll follow you." He said sternly. I nodded and went to Sting. I knew he would just use his super dragon hearing to listen to our conversation anyway.

"So what did you want to ask me?" I asked Sting.
"I've noticed that you've been on edge lately, and I wanted to ask you how you're doing at home." He said.
"Oh, well I'm perfectly fine." I said, quickly glancing at Natsu.
"No, I meant if you were...comfortable, with being at home." He explained.
"What do you mean?" I asked. He pointed to the hickey on my neck.
"Is he harassing you?" He asked plainly. I blushed red and looked away.
"N-no..." I stuttered.
"You don't have to lie, I'm always here for you if he is." He reassured.
"I'm not lying, he's not harassing me." I blushed.

"So you let him do this?" He asked, clearly annoyed at me. I nodded.
"Lucy, you can't fall in love with a scumbag like him, he's a dragon and you're a young lady." He explained. "Dragons have no respect for women, so no matter what he says, he will do something terrible to you."

I sighed and looked down, but he placed a finger under my chin and lifted my head up.
"Promise me you won't do it again." He said.
"I-I....." He kept staring at me.
"O-okay," I sighed "I promise."

I swear I just heard Natsu's heart break.
