The Skylanders managed to send away all of the Doomraiders except for Dreamcatcher, who was still a trembling mess thanks to Vexelle's powers. Stealth Elf managed to coax her into telling them what happened to Vexelle in exchange for her promise that Vexelle would reverse the induced fear.

"S-she was s-s-sent to Kaos!" Dreamcatcher stuttered out. "Kaos?!" Stealth Elf began to panic again. "Do you know where he is?!"

"N-no!" Dreamcatcher shook her head quickly. "H-he wanted a n-new evil p-p-pet!"

That's when the Skylanders all laughed. The very thought of Vexelle not only submitting to Kaos but also being his loyal lap dragon was enough to drive them into hysterics.

"I'm sure Vexelle will be fine, then!" Jet Vac chuckled. "After all, even Master Eon thinks she's stronger than Kaos!" "We still need to find her, though," Eruptor sighed, looking out over the world as though she'd appear out of thin air, dragging a defeated Kaos behind her.

"Where'd you go, baby?" He questioned quietly, worried for his friend.

It takes all but fifteen seconds for me to - once I avoid Kaos' attempt at a tackle that leaves him sprawled across the floor - pin him down, make him fear me, drain a little of his aura to keep him weak and attach the collar and lead to him instead.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

I have to cover my ears. "I have never heard a more high-pitched scream in my life and I've lived with two teenage girls who are scared of spiders," I complain. "That was just ridiculous. Shut up, animal. You're my pet now. Understood?"

"G-G-G-Glumshanks! Get this t-thing off me!" Kaos stammers in fear. Sighing, the troll comes over. I look to them, summing them up. "Look, please just make this easier for both of us and get off of him," he says.

"I'll do one thing for you and one thing only," I reply. "I could bring you eternal happiness beyond your wildest dreams! I could place your enemies in permanent misery! I could make the world adore you, or fear you, all as you wish! Do you really want to waste it on me stepping off this guy?"

"Eternal happiness? I don't want any scams, lady," he tells me, not quite unkindly. "Please just get off of him."

"As you wish," I mutter, stepping off of Kaos. My meddling, however, is still intact. Kaos quickly starts scooting away from me. "Glummy, get it away from me!"

"I've given him an eternal fear of me," I smile sweetly to the troll. "He won't want me as his lap dragon anymore. Watch this." I walk closer to Kaos, but he shrieks his head off and backs up further.

"It wasn't a con?" The troll seems surprised. "Nope, but you gave up your chance, so... later," I shrug. I walk towards the door, not interested in these dumb games anymore.

Suddenly a cage appears around me, filled to the brim with dark magic. "Oh, I forgot I set that up," Kaos remarks, standing up. I growl fiercely at him. "Let me out or else!"

He keeps a safe distance away from the cage, apparently emboldened by the fact that I'm trapped. He gives the troll the collar and lead. "Put these on her, Glumshanks!"

The troll walks up and part of the cage disappears to let him through, closing up right behind him. I growl at him as well. "Don't you dare!"

"Sorry, I don't have much of a choice," he sighs, clearly depressed. I use my powers to make him fear me.

"Aah!"

"Do it, Glumshanks!" Kaos orders. The troll gulps, but obeys. I'm so shocked at this show of absolute dedication to his job that I forget to fight back and the collar goes back on my neck.

The feel of it snaps me back to reality and I growl at him again. "Easy, girl, there's a good dragon!" Kaos snickers. I try and blast him through the cage, but for some reason nothing happens.

Immediately I start to panic. This is how my powers going out of control started last time; with my inability to use them. I lay down and hold my paws over my head, concentrating hard in case anything happens.

"What the-... is it hurting her or something?" Kaos seems confused. "Glumshanks, what's she doing?"

"I don't know, sir," the troll seems just as confused, though he seems a little concerned as well. "Do you think it's maybe a bad reaction to the dark magic in the cage? Her powers do seem to be based around light, after all."

Wrong.

"Huh... Maybe,"Kaos shrugs. "Oh well. We can just let her suffer, I guess. When she agrees to behave, we'll let her out."

"Tell me again why you wanted a pet so badly," the troll sighed. "Simple, Glumwad," Kaos replied. "Mother's hydra loves her. If I get my own pet, they'll love me, too! And then I'll have a pet even better and more evil than hers. I'll be the eviler pet owner!"

"Of course it's about proving you're evil," the troll sighed.

Now fairly certain that it's only the magic in the cage that's preventing me from using my powers, I start to plot a means of escape. Then I realise that I could not only escape but gain inside information.

"P-please... I'll do whatever you say... just let me out..." I say weakly. I don't have to fake the lack of strength in my voice, though I do exaggerate it greatly. "Then stop making me so scared of you!" Kaos orders, zapping the cage with his magic. The dark magic surrounding the cage is gone and I find myself able to use my powers again, much to my relief.

I reverse his fears with a brown shockwave, freeing the troll as well. They both sigh in relief, then Kaos walks over and picks up the lead, pulling me along.

"Come along, now, Deathjewel!" He says, taking me out of the cage and out of a door.
