Part 11
"Ok, go ahead, Vexelle!" Spyro grinned once everyone was out of their vehicles. "What exactly am I supposed to be looking for?" I ask. "JV, you didn't tell her on the way here?" Stealth Elf asks. "She didn't ask, I thought she knew!" Jet Vac protested. "I tried to ask, you shushed me until I shut up," I snap.
"Okay, so basically we need to find a dark relic," Spyro jumps in. "Just anything that works. You know what a dark relic is, right?"
"Of course I do," I nod. "I've seen plenty. But you have to be careful with them in case-"
"Less talk, more work," Stealth Elf interrupts. I roll my eyes. "Suit yourself. Now give me a minute to look for a relic."
I shut my eyes and reach out with my powers, searching for anything that might be a dark relic. I hear everyone complaining about how I'm just going to sleep or whatever the heck they're saying I'm doing, but I leave Spyro to the explanations of my powers and I continue looking, setting them all as background noise.
"Found something!" I announce, snapping my eyes back open. Everyone jumped back at my sudden movement and noise. I noticed they'd all crept closer, save for Spyro. I chuckled. "Follow me."
"Heck no!"
Everyone turns to Stealth Elf. "I'm not trusting that you know the way. All you did was stand there! How could you possibly know where a dark relic is?"
"I could-"
"No! Don't answer! I don't need a stupid excuse like yours will be. You can't just shut your eyes and see everything!"
"Not everything, just the-"
"Do you ever shut up and let someone else talk?!"
"Wow."
"I'm not going to follow you anywhere!"
She then teleports off, leaving the group in awkward silence for a moment before they all make up half-hearted excuses and goodbyes, then run off in different directions. I sigh, laying down. All this work and they didn't need me after all. Typical.
Suddenly someone teleports beside me, causing me to yelp. I expected Stealth Elf, but who I got was much better. I quickly stood up and leapt at them.
But they moved out the way and I hit the ground. "You really want it easy?" They taunted. "If you want me, come and get me." I smirk and start my attack, firing two yellow beams at them. They easily avoid the first one, but the second knocks them to the ground. I waste no time in pouncing on top of them, looking them in the eye. They only smirk up at me, but before I can react, they roll us over so I'm the one pinned instead. I try to repeat the action, but they're too strong.
I try to struggle, but it's no use. I have to resort to a horrible method. I snap my tail upwards, hitting them, causing them to yell out in pain. "Hey! No low blows!"
"No fighting me out of nowhere!" I counter, escaping their grasp. "Just give me a minute..." they beg. Wanting a real fight, I let them have their minute.
Then it's back on.
I land the first successful hit, a punch to their jaw. They then grab my talons and slam me into the ground a few times. I yelp at the pain, but I manage to bite their wrist, causing them to yell as well. They drop me, so I prepare to blast them square in the chest.
The only problem is that someone beat me to it.
They take the blast and fall over, then Spyro swoops down and lands beside me. "Are you alright?!" He asks me, looking me over. "I heard you scream!"
"That was them, I hit a low blow," I smirk, heading back over to finish the job, but Spyro jumps in the way. Jet Vac, Eruptor and Pop Fizz all do the same, aiming various weapons at my attacker. "We've got this, Vexelle!" Eruptor claimed.
"No you don't! You don't even know what's happening!" I yell. "Get away from them!"
They look at the Skylanders surrounding them with a calm expression, then they just teleport to me. "Nice welcome party," they comment, causing everyone to turn to us.
"Yeah, they're just great," I say sarcastically. "So what brings you here?"
"The others are worried about you," he replied. "You didn't meet up with us, so I checked your cave. Ashlyn found you with these freakshows. What happened?"
"They tried a machine to try and heal some old wounds. I didn't respond well to treatment," I shrug. "But you know I would've contacted you guys if I needed you. I'm fine."
"Good," they nodded. "I'm glad you're alright." "Thanks, I was kind of hoping I would be," I joke, causing him to laugh.
"Wait, you two know each other?" Spyro asks, calming down a little, the others all doing the same, though not one of the Skylanders seem to truly let their guard down just yet. "Yeah, we've known each other for years," I confirm. "They're a jerk, but they're a lovable jerk."
"I could say the same about you," they retort with a smirk. "Take notice of the 'could'," I smirk back. "If you guys are... well, I'm going to be nice and assume friends," Spyro says, looking at them. "Why did you attack Vexelle?"
"We have training matches and play fights all the time," I shrug. "You wouldn't believe how many times I've managed to-"
"To get your butt kicked? I think they believe it."
"Not asking you, liar," I glare at them, but their smirk never fades. "So who exactly is this?" Jet Vac asks, eyeing them.
"This is my friend Adrian," I answer. "We've known each other since not long after I hatched, so practically all my life. Relax, he's not going to kill anyone... yet..."
"Right, you ready to go?" He asks me. "Go?" I question. "The others have been worried about you," he says. "They wanted me to bring you back as soon as possible."
"Well it's not like these guys actually want me around," I shrug, looking at the Skylanders. They're just staring at Adrian, not listening to a word I say. "Okay, bye then," I sigh.
"Let's go, Lilac," Adrian smiles properly this time, the nickname made due to the colour of my scales bringing fond memories as he swiftly picks me up and teleports us both away.
