That night, it was raining over The castle of Katolis,

Inside Ezran's room, he and the glowing Bait are cuddled up inside Ezran's bed, sleeping and loudly snoring. Ezran drools on Bait and Bait wakes up to lick the drool off of himself

(Eww)

"Take that, marshmallow monster!." He Drawing a picture of a dragon roasting marshmallow monsters on a large piece of paper

Just then the Thunder crashes, startling him, ezran Squeals, jumping awake and yelled out "Callum!

"It's okay, Ezran. It's just a thunderstorm. Nothing to be afraid of. Go back to sleep." Callum assured, looking at him a for a moment, then returning to his drawing

The young boy frowns " I wasn't scared "Lays back down and hugs bait " Bait was scared."

Bait growls in response and goes back to sleep

Time skip

Outside in the forest, one of the soldiers was patrolling until he heard a noise of rustling leaves

He turns around and aims his crossbow into the direction of the noise

"Who's there? Declare yourself, in the name of King Harrow!" He Exclaims

Thunder rumbles as lightning lights up the scene, revealing figures in between the trees. The guard shoots an arrow that hits a tree, then runs away.

A figure dashes out of the forest and follows him. The guard trips while the attacker makes their way through the tree tops.

He turns around and aims his crossbow, but loses the target.

The attacker draws their blades and kicks him into a puddle of water, then holds the blades against his throat. "Please! Who are you?"

The so called attacker is taken aback as they look at guards face, filled with fear

and lowers their weapons.

He pushes himself backwards until he can stand, then manages to flee into the forest.

The attacker lowers their weapons further and sighs

Time skip

The rain had stopped and the sun began to rise

In the tower of Katolis, Viren examines a large mirror when he is disturbed by a knock.

"High Mage! Please, it's urgent!" Someone yelled, the Knocking continue, as he

covers the mirror with a sheet and opens the door, which reveals the guard that was attacked

"Lord viren! I've seen something" he said in a with a Panicked face

Walking down the hall, Viren approaches King Harrow's chambers, which was guarded by two guards, one puts a hand up

Signaling to stop] Lord Viren, uh, King Harrow hasn't risen yet.

Viren pushes the doors to the room open. He approaches Harrow's bedroom windows and opens the curtains, making pips whistle while flap his wings

Waking up Harrow, he sits up tiredly "Viren, didn't I tell you if you ever woke me up this early again... I'd have you executed?" He asked while smirking

He clears his throat " I'll give you a moment"

After that viren stood on his kings balcony as he waited for him, after changing he walks out with pips on his arm, scratching his chin "So, what's so important that you come into my bedroom risking your life like this?"

"Assassins." Viren answered

" I see" Harrow says Calmly, while setting Pip down and feeding him a treat

"A scout on patrol discovered them just before dawn" viren says

"Well, don't look so grim. We've fought off plenty of assassins. Haven't we, Pip?" Harrow says while stroking the bird

"It's different this time. We believe they're Moonshadow Elves." Viren states, making Harrow frown "Moonshadow Elves? Then how did the scout escape?" He asked

"I don't know. It was muddy, wet, dark... Somehow he got very lucky." Viren says

"The Crown Guard won't be enough to hold them off." Harrow muttered feeding pips "Send for General Amaya and the Standing Battalion." He ordered

"The Breach is too far. They'll never make it back in time" Viren claimed

"What's tonight's moon?" Harrow asked

"Full." Viren answered, harrow chuckled at that " of course it is"

"With the Moonshadow Elves at the height of their power, no defense will stand against them." Viren states

"Then we won't defend." Harrow says Determined "We will attack. We must find them today, in the light of the sun, and stop them before it's too late."

Pips chirps which seems to be in agreement

Meanwhile

Rayla jumps over the forest's terrain and uncovers her hood once she stops. She pulls out her blades and sighs, when she notices a red berry bush and gets lost in thought.

At the camp of the Moonshadow Assassins, where Runaan meditates on a rock. Rayla walks past him, with her blades drenched in the berry juice, which appears as blood.

"Well done, Rayla." He says making her stop

" Yeah. I used both of them." She says nervously " I used both of them" she says while shrugging

"I can see that." He says then tosses her a piece of cloth, which she uses to clean her blade of the fake blood,
She walks past the other elves while trying to fake a smile

Back in katolis

The baker barius, sniffs the freshly baked, then lifts a sheet of jelly tarts out of the oven.

Ezran and Bait crawl into the bakery through an open space. Ezran pushes the vent bars aside.

Bait let let's out a croak " Bait, shh." Ezran sneaks into the room and watches Barius walk away.

He rushes over to the fresh jelly tart sheets and hovers his hand about to grab a piece, before flinching as he heard "Prince Ezran!" And tuned to be the baker, who chuckled menacingly "I caught you!"

"I was just admiring them" Ezran said

"Oh." The baker Crosses arms "With your hands?" He says sarcastically

"Yeah. They look amazing." Ezran says looking at them, then the baker "Well, they are amazing, and they're not for you! Or your little monster, Bait" he says irritated

From behind him, Bait snatches a jelly tart with his tongue, making the baker turn

"D-Did you just..." he stammered "You can tell by his eyes he's innocent" Ezra says while Bait bats his eyelashes innocently while croaking.

Ezran takes a jelly tart while Barius focuses on Bait and is caught when Barius turns back around "Are you kidding me? I'm standing right here!" He exclaimed angry

Bait snatches three more jelly tarts and stuffs them into his mouth, making the baker turn back mad "Hey!"

Bait Croaks, drool running from his mouth

Bait jumps off the table as Barius tries to grab him and escapes through the open door, chased by Barius

Ezran grabs as many jelly tarts as he can hold and stuffs one inside his mouth moaning happy from the taste, before escaping through the vent

Elsewhere

the court yard of the castle, Callum approaches Soren for his training lessons "Prince Callum. Today we focus on the art of-" he cuts soren off

Dropping his bag to the ground "Art! Finally something I'm good at." Callum smiles Smugly while placing his hands onto his hips

Soren stares at him judgmentally while crossing his arms

"Sorry, sorry. Won't interrupt again. Please continue, Soren." Callum says

Soren starts over
"The art of defense is critical in sword-fighting" he Leaps forward slightly and begins to swing his wooden sword at Callum, who takes a couple of steps back "Parrying is about angle, motion, anticipation..." he Pokes Callum's forehead with his sword "Misjudge your opponent, and it's over" Callum Groans in pain and holds his forehead "You ready?" He asked Holds the sword out to Callum, then drops it into his hands, he Fails to catch the sword and hurries to pick it up from the ground "Uh...I'm gonna have to say no." He replied

Soren Turns away from Callum while pulling his own sword "Great. Let's do this"

Two guards stand at a stair railing, where one points towards the battle and the two start spectating.

Swings his sword at Callum with ease while Callum struggles to parry "Parry, parry, parry." He Stabs at Callum's chest, causing him to fall" You're dead.

He Resumes the swings as soon as Callum gets back upParry, parry." Hits Callum on his head "You're dead." Hits Callum again on his neck as soon as he tries to attack again "Parry. Dead "

Callum Exclaims and rubs his head "Really? Are you sure? Even if I was wearing armor?" Callum asked

"Even if you were wearing the rarest legendary armor, forged by Sunfire Elves... Super dead"

Meanwhile a certain person with short red hair enters the courtyard

Just an example of her appearance

and happens to see  what's going on, and has an idea, she sneaks pass the guards, using them as cover, one points her out for the others

Callum scoffs "I'm terrible at this!"

"Yep" soren Helps Callum back up again "But you have to practice anyway, because that's what's expected of a prince. Or a step-prince, actually." He whispered

Callum Picks up his sword from the ground and turned to him "What?"

"What?"

Just Claudia walks past the two while carrying and reading a book called "Love Amongst The Dragons", catching the attention of both her brother and Callum.

"Hey, your sister." He Points towards a nearby tree "She's gonna walk right into that-" soren Places a finger on Callum's mouth "Shh"

The two watch as Claudia inches closer towards the tree, completely distracted by her book, until almost close enough to run into it

"Claudia!" He yells out which Pulled out of her trance, she notices the tree and turns around to wave to Callum "Oh. Hi, Callum!"

He Waves to Claudia while smiling " You're no fun." Soren says pouting

Claudia Points towards the tree "Is this new?" She asked

"Relatively new."  Callum Chuckles "It's only been there for 300 years."

She Laughs and waves her hand, then sighs and sits down on a bench

Callum then noticed the red head, who raised a finger to her lips, then leg swipes soren, making him yell out and grunt when hitting the floor, but before he got up, he stopped when he felt the wooden sword around his neck " I believe that's checkmate, you sure your not loosing your touch soren?" She smirked

" haha, you cheated" he stated grumpy " nope, it's called the element of surprise, and that is essentially to winning a fight" she says smirking, removing the sword from his throat The going towards Claudia

" hey nice job!" The two high five " anyway check this out!" She showed her what's on the book

"Hey, uh, can we try again?" Callum asked "think I can do it now."

Soren and Callum take their places on the sparring grounds once more, equipped with their swords.

The two parry successfully for a brief moment, when Callum screams and goes for a direct hit, but gets his sword caught underneath Soren's foot. Callum tries to pull it out.

"What was that?" Soren asked

"I don't know. Uh, I was trying to "sweep the leg"?" Callum said while shrugging

"That's not a thing in sword-fighting" soren Says

He Looks over his shoulder towards Claudia and Anna, who smiles back at him, then rolls his eyes with a chuckle "Oh. I see what's going on here." Releases Callum's sword "Don't worry, I'll help. You come at me this time"

Callum Smiles, then yells and goes for another hit, pushing his sword towards Soren's side

Soren falls over Dramatically and pretends to be in pain "Oh, I am stabbed! By the stab-prince! Lord Stabbington! Why? Spurt! Spurt!"

Callum smiles confidently and looked over at the two girls Claudia chuckle "Nice work, Callum. " Anna sighs "He deserves it."

Just then opeli Approaches the two "Prince Callum. The King needs to speak with you urgently." She then turned to Anna and calls out to her " Anna! You too!" The girls look over confused but Anna gets up

Callum Nods obediently as Anna walks over

Soren Raising the wooden sword "He didn't really stab me."

Time skip

In the throne room the High Council discusses their next steps at the war table inside the throne room, where an attendant pushes forward a small war piece bearing the symbol of Katolis.

Callum knocks against the door, then he, Anna and Ezran enter the throne room.

Harrow "Excitedly raising his hands while approaching the children "Boys! Anna! You're going on a trip "Swinging his fist in the air "To the Banther Lodge!"

"But...it's spring. That's the winter lodge" Anna says

Harrow placing his hand against his chin "Eh. Winter is coming....eventually"

"What will we do? Everything fun there has to do with snow or ice." Ezra states

"Maybe you can invent new versions using dirt and rocks. You could build a dirt man! Or....what about mud-sledding? That could be a thing!" Harrow says

The others look at each other while bait croaks Harrow Placed his hand on Callum's shoulder "Look, this is something I need you to do."

"Dad!" Ezra

" king Harrow" anna

"It's decided." He says sternly "You'll leave before sundown, so go get packed up." He Leaves to open the door for them

"Yes, sir. Come on, guys" Callum gestured

The three walk out and the door closes behind them "Why's he sending us away? Something's wrong." Ezra says

" I'm sure it's fine" Anna said

"Everything's going to be fine. All right? I'm sure of it." Callum saysWalks away while his expression fills with worry

Viren leads soren and Claudia into his office before closing the door behind him "What's going on, Father?" Soren asked

"We have visitors from Xadia. Unwanted visitors." His father said

"What are they, minstrels or something?" Soren says mockingly

ClaudiaWhispering to in his ear "Assassins."

"I know!" He says whacking her arm back " What do you think, I'm an idiot?""

She Grumbles skeptically while crossing her arms "They've set up a secret camp somewhere near the base of the cliffs. Soren, you will lead an attack." Viren says

"Right. Their secret camp. How am I supposed to find it if it's secret?" Soren questioned

Viren picks up a box from a nearby desk "These assassins are Moonshadow Elves. They draw power from the Moon. Inside this box is an Archangel Lunaris, a giant moon moth. It will be drawn to their energy. Follow it, and you will find them." He explains

Soren Examines the box "And what happens if I can't find them?" He adked

"Then we may be on the brink of changing times." Viren said

"You're saying they'll kill the king?-" Viren shushes and looks out of the window, where Callum is walking and is then looking up.

He slams the window shut and Callum turns away in worry while Ezran chases Bait in the background, giggling joyfully.

Viren Angrily hands Soren the box "Discretion, boy! - Do you want to cause a panic?!"

"I'm sorry-" Viren Raises his hand dismissively "Just get out there and find them. Before sundown!"

"So, if these are really Moonshadow Elves, then once the moon rises..." Claudia trails of "They'll be unstoppable." Viren finishes

"Well, I'm going to find a way to stop them. " Claudia says determined "After all, "unstoppable" is just another kind of "stoppable."

"No. That's not really right"  Viren says

"Yeah, it made more sense in my head. Claudia Smiles

Time skip

Soren and his men prepare to ride out on horses and are waiting at the gate when Callum stumbles towards them in armor

"Wait, I'm coming with you!"

"You look terrific...But, just so you know, that's ceremonial armor. It's three times as heavy and half as strong. Oh, but so shiny!" Soren says

"I don't care." Cam mum says, Struggles to mount a horse "I know what's going on and I'm coming with you."

"You're just a kid, Callum." Soren stated

Callum Belly flops onto the back of the horse "I'll be 15 in two months."

"Ooh, fourteen and three quarters! Wow!"soren said Mockingly, while gazing at an apple in his hand

"Five-sixths." Callum corrected "Soren, he's our king. And he's my father. It's my duty to help him."

"Well, technically he is your step-dad"Soren Takes a bite out of his apple "But I'm sure it's similar. Think fast!" He throws  the apple at Callum, who manages to block it with his shield, but falls back off his horse and right into a puddle of mud, due to the weight of his armor.

"You were supposed to catch it" soren sighs

Soren waves his men to follow and the soldiers leave the castle while Callum stares after them angrily.

Out of frustration, he throws his shield into the mud, only for more mud to be splashed into his face, which he then wipes off.

In the forest

"Four full moons past, on the eve of the Winter's Turn, the humans crossed into Xadia and murdered the King of the Dragons.
Then they destroyed his only egg, the Dragon Prince, And the rainbow elf's king kalos and queen amencha, and taken either both the princess and the stone, or the stone itself." Runaan Wraps a binding around his arm "Tonight we bind our lives to justice!"

"My breath for freedom!" Callisto Extends his arms

"My eyes for truth!" Andromeda her Extends arms

"My strength for honor!"Skor Extends his arms

"My blood for justice!l Ram Extends his arms

rayla is the only one left "My heart for Xadia!" She extends her arms

Runaan Nods, then wraps the binding around the wrists of each assassin "Life is precious. Life is valuable. We take it, but we do not take it lightly."

Then looks at rayla " Moon reflects sun, as death reflects life!" She narrowed her eyes

Runaan cuts the binding and it begins to glow around the arms of each assassin.

While holding a shadowhawk arrow "When it is done, I will send a shadowhawk with a blood ribbon message to the Queen of the Dragons." He Puts the arrow in his quiver" We strike when the moon is highest!"

The Moonshadow Assassins pass Runaan, all but rayla "Uh, Runaan?"

"What is it, Rayla?" He replied "I was wondering... what if they know we're coming?" She asked

"We have the advantage of surprise. If we act fast, we will accomplish our goals without sacrifice." He said walking away, leaving a worried rayla 

At the castle

Ezran uncovers his eyes, then takes a bite out of jelly tart as he searches for Bait. He finds Bait inside a pile of clothes due to his glowing body and picks him up "Oh, Bait, you're terrible at hide and seek" he laughs

Ezran offers Bait a jelly tart, which is quickly snatched by his tongue.

The door opens, revealing Callum "Ez! What are you doing!?" He exclaimed

"Hi, Callum. Do you want a- " he tried to Offer Callum a jelly tart

"No, I don't want a stupid jelly tart!" He exclaimed angry "Why aren't you packed? You know we have to get going soon."

"But you're not packed." Ezra said

Callum Stuffing items into his bag "What do you think I'm doing?"" But he Pulls out a jelly tart stained shirt, which makes Ezra laugh

Callum Tosses the shirt aside angrily "Ezran! You don't get it, do you? Why do you think they're sending us away? Because they're coming to kill him!"

Ezran storms out of the room upset, slamming the door behind him and dropping Bait. Bait jumps after him and growls at Callum while turning red, then slams a tinier section of the door behind him as well.

Callum sighs and sits down feeling guilty, resting his elbows on his legs.

Elsewhere

Soren rides through the forest with a group of soldiers, holding a wooden box in his hands. He lifts it up joyfully.

"Let's see if this magic moon moth can find more than a closet full of moon sweaters." He Chuckles to one of his soldiers "You know, 'cause moths eat clothes?"

"Yes, sir." They nod

Soren opens the box and releases an Archangel Lunaris which sits on his hand as he examines it, before letting it fly. The group rides after the animal

Back inside the Moonshadow Assassin camp, Rayla sharpens her blade while Runaan drenches arrows in a poison fluid from a jar. The Archangel Lunaris lands on top of one of the arrows.

Runaan examines it and jumps up while the Archangel Lunaris flies off " Let's go! They know we're here!" He exclaimed, they heard the distant sound of the horse whining

Runaan Pulls his moon opal necklace from his neck, then crushes it in his hand, scattering the dust above the Moonshadow Assassins while whispering a magic spell to create a disguise "Mystica-Arbora!"

Soren's group rides through the forest. His horse shies after jumping over a fallen log, then takes him a few steps further, where he dismounts the animal. Soren ducks underneath a branch and steps into the campsite, where nothing can be found.

Soren Scoffs" Nothing!" He Lets the Archangel Lunaris sit on his palm "Surprising no one, a magic moth is just as worthless as a regular moth." He Releases the Archangel Lunaris, watching it fly onto a tree "We'll have to wait for the elves to come to us." He says then Turns around and pushes down the branch, which bounces back, he Mounts his horse once again

The guard form before Turns his horse to ride away, taking a last glance at the Archangel Lunaris on the tree.

Clicks tongue, then motions his horse to walk away

The Archangel Lunaris flutters off the tree in panic as it transforms back into Rayla.

The other Moonshadow Assassins reappear around her as their disguise wears off, glaring at her angrily.

"You lied to me. You let him go!" Runaan glared angrily

"Runaan, I'm sorry! The human he looked up at me and I saw the fear in his eyes" She says Apologetic

"Of course he was afraid. But you had a job to do!" He claimed

"He didn't do anything to me! How could I take his life?" She exclaimed

"You let him live but you've killed us all...." Rayla widens her eyes in shock,
