3rd person POV:

Team 7 waited for their sensei who was late once more.

Majima: Should we just come an hour later than when he tells us to arrive?

Sakura: I-I don't know about that... What if this is some kind of test?

Majima: Not everything is a test, Sakura. I think he just sucks at arriving on time.

Kiryu: Tch, test or not. It's simply annoying to be waiting around.

Majima: Exactly.

Kakashi: Apologies students, I was occupied with the flow of life, getting lost in the flow of time as a result.

On a light post, Kakashi stood.

Kiryu: Hmph.

Kakashi: I see you all are annoyed. However, I might have something to change your tune.

Sakura: What would that be?

Majima: Another conspiracy?

Kakashi: No.

Kakashi:(mind) I hope...

Kakashi: It's something you all would consider a "real" mission.

This caught the attention of the three, who perked up to focus on what Kakashi would say next.

Kakashi: A bridge-builder has requested an escort to an island so he can finish a bridge.

Kakashi: A classic escort mission. Defend the client with all you've got.

Majima: Not bad, Sensei. At least this sounds like a real starting point.

Kiryu: Guard a person?

Kakashi: Yep.

Kiryu:... Understood.

Kakashi: Hope you brought your things like I asked because we leave, right away.

Without question, the four head out to meet up with the Bridgebuilder and escort him to an island in the Land of Waves.

Leaving the territory, Team 7 began escorting the Bridgebuilder, Tazuna, to his homeland where he was to build a bridge connecting an island to the mainland.

Kiryu:... So why is does the island need a bridge?

Tazuna: Because travel by boat has become too dangerous, and the island needs supplies.

Kiryu: Dangerous? How?

Tazuna: I'm not paying to deal with, so it shouldn't be any of your concern.

Kiryu:...

Kiryu:?

Hearing something, Kiryu stops in his tracks, Kakashi then noticed the same thing and stopped the builder, as Majima, followed by Sakura took notice.

Sakura: What's wrong?

Finding that they've been noticed, two Ninjas leap out of the trees, here to kill the Bridgebuilder.

Kiryu:(takes fighting stance)

Majima: I got this...

Pulling out a knife, Majima took this fight upon himself.

Dashing up to them, Majima began showing off his level of skill.

Kiryu:?

(Clang)

Deflecting their blade attacks, Majima leaps up and kicks the two across the face, staggering them.

With great speed, he then moved around them, slashing them.

Performing a substitution jutsu, they made some distance from Majima.

Majima:(smirks) Where do you think you're going?

With a red glint in his eyes, Majima throws two kunai, stabbing into the assassins.

Performing hand signs, Majima then casts a jutsu.

Majima: "Fireball jutsu"!

With a breath, Majima lit the assassins ablaze, making them retreat.

Sakura: That was amazing Majima!

Majima:(smirks) It was nothing...

Kiryu, seeing Majima's battle capability, almost inspired him, a thought then crossed his mind.

Kiryu:(mind) Could I fight that fast?

Kakashi: We better get moving before they come back with reinforcements.

Quickening their step, the Team hurried along the path without rest, until arriving at a dock where they took a boat to the island.

Kiryu:... Oi, Majima.

Majima: Hm?

Kiryu: Show me how you performed that Jutsu.

Majima: Why?

Kiryu: I feel inspired.

Majima:... Okay, you've piqued my curiosity with that response.

Majima began showing the hand signs for the Fireball jutsu as Kakashi watched.

Kakashi:(mind) I was told that The Dragon in Kiryu might affect his ability to cast certain jutsus.

Kakashi:(mind) The Fireball jutsu should be perfect to see if that's the case.

Kakashi:(mind) After all, that Dragon of his is infamous for his devastating breath attack.

Majima: I ain't showing you again.

Kiryu:... Understood.

Sakura:... You didn't get it all, did you?

Kiryu:... No.

Majima:(sigh)

Kiryu: It's fine, I'll just figure out the rest.

Sakura: That's not how that works...

Kiryu: Then I'll make it start.

Majima: Heh...

Tazuna: Are these kids really qualified for this? That boy I can tell... The other two...

Kakashi: Trust me, I wouldn't have chosen them as my students, if I didn't think they had talent.

Through the fog, Team 7 saw the half-built bridge of the island.

Kiryu: Whoa... It's a bridge.

The Team dock ashore, where they continue to walk towards the center of the island where a settlement and Tazuna's family reside in.

From this point, Tazuna lead the Team as they were unfamiliar with the area.

Tazuna: Going around the lake will be the safest-

Sakura: What's wrong?

Stopping mid-sentence as well in mid-step, Tazuna sees a man, not much younger than he is, fishing beside the lake.

???: Oi... I thought I told you to give up on the bridge.

Tazuna: The island needs that bridge!

???: It doesn't need shit...

Kakashi: Who are you, identify yourself!

The man gets up, in his suit, and turns to Team 7 while fixing his glasses.

Kakashi:?!

Kiryu:?

Kiryu: Oi, Sensei, you know this old man?

???: Tch...

Kakashi: Not personally... But I do recognize him. He's quite infamous.

Kakashi: That man, was the right hand for the Kage in the Village Hidden in the Mist.

Kakashi: A fearsome shinobi, called Judge of Hell... Kuze Daisaku.

(Jonin-Level Shinobi)

Kiryu: Oi, old man, is that old man going to be a problem?

Tazuna: I'm afraid so...

Kiryu:(cracks knuckles) Understood.

Sakura: Are you crazy?

Kakashi: Kiryu, stand down, he's too much for you.

Kiryu: It does matter if he's in the way, I'll move him.

Kuze: Damn, brat. Someone ought to teach you the hierarchy.

Kakashi; What are you doing here?

Kuze: This Island... Is my turf.

Tazuna: It doesn't belong to you. It belongs to its people. Who you've been terrorizing!

Kuze: I made it clear from the start... Don't build a bridge, and there won't be any trouble.

Tazuna: You've brought nothing but trouble!

Kuze: If ya knew what was going on with the world, you'd be thanking me.

Tazuna: I'd be cursing your name, now and until I die!

Kuze: Tch... It doesn't matter...

(Snap)

Several Shinobi gather around Team 7, surrounding them.

Kuze: Teach them a lesson. I'll handle the "Sharingan warrior".

Majima: The what...?

Kakashi:... Kiryu, Majima, Sakura. This is a serious battle, the rank of the mission just went up.

Kakashi: I need you three to protect the client.

Kiryu:(crosses arms)

Kiryu/Kuze:(glare)

Kiryu: I'll beat every foe who stands in my way... For that is my Ninja way!

Taking a fighting stance, the three surround Tazuna, as Kakashi flips over to Kuze who begins to brawl with him.

Kiryu: Now, those who wish to die... Take a step forward!

Majima:(chuckles) You mad lad...

Sakura: How did we get into this...?
