Shadow was reluctant to leave, but he knew we had to. It was reminding him that we have Lily's medication that changed his mind. We left a soaked Snotlout and a still ecstatic Hookfang behind and flew in the wrong direction to confuse them should they try to follow us, then turned back once we were out of sight.

It was dark by the time we finally arrived back on the island. I was already yawning tiredly, ready to dismount and collapse into bed after an eventful day. After dismounting Shadow we walked inside, splitting off when he went to his pen in the stables.

I unloaded the limestone supply ready for tomorrow and headed into my bathroom. A quick shower with the instantly warm water I knew I would never take for granted and I was off to bed, a towel wrapped around my hair to help it dry. I was asleep immediately.

My wake up call was being knocked off the bed in a dragon invasion. As I sat up on the floor, groaning, I looked upwards to see the culprit. The culprit being little Valkyrie, who is now nestled under my covers and snoring lightly.

Wrong move, girl. Wrong move.

I leap onto the bed, grabbing her. She screeches out in shock and I use this to my advantage, tickling her small underbelly, earning laughs and squeals. "This'll teach you to kick me out of my own bed," I threaten as I move in again, then scratch a certain spot under her chin. She falls off of the bed limply.

I pick her up off the floor and stroke her soft fur. I've only known her for two weeks and I'm already very attached to her. Just like I am with the others on this island. Well, almost.

I frown slightly. "Great, another life to isolate from humanity. Another life in danger. Poor little angel."

She sits up a little and rawks softly, nuzzling into me. My frown flips and a chuckle escapes me. No matter how hard I try, I can never even pretend to be mad at my partners for long.

"Have you gotten any breakfast yet?" I ask her. There's plenty of fish coming in lately, so she should be up and ready to eat like the others always are. To my surprise she shakes her head.

"Well we'll have to get you some," I smile. I adjust her in my arms and exit my room, the towel from last night dropping from my hair and letting it bask itself in its untamed glory. I carry Valkyrie to the dining hall, where a few of the others are already up and nabbing fresh fish from the stream. They rawk to us as we enter.

"Morning, guys," I smile before placing Valkyrie down next to Stylive. The Nadder dunks her head into the water and pulls out a large salmon, which she swallows. After a moment Stylive brings half of the fish back up and offers it to Valkyrie, who chirps gratefully and starts munching away.

I realise some of the others are staring at Valkyrie curiously, then they look to me. "I suppose not all of you have met her yet. This is our newest arrival Valkyrie. I brought her in a few weeks ago but until now she's mostly stayed in the hatchery with the other hatchlings."

They all nod and rawk out in greeting to the little dragon, who rawks back happily. Her tail begins wagging like a dog's would as she continues savouring her breakfast.

I head over to my own food storage area. I obviously can't survive on raw fish like the dragons, so I have to have my own special food instead. As I look through my breakfast options, a ringing sound is heard from above me and I immediately pull up my mask.

The warning bell.

I run out of the room, all thoughts of food abandoned for now. I rush up to the bell as fast as I can and see Lovelei ringing it, looking around desperately for me. I start to panic.

"What's going on? Just a routine disturbance?" I ask her, though I already think I know the answer. She shakes her head and flies over to the map of the island on the wall before stabbing her tail at the nearest coast... repeatedly.

I nod to her. "I'll get there right away, thank you for your help." Then I pull open the secret hatch and make the drop into a dragon proof pen in the stables. This is the only pen that can only open from the outside just in case someone finds the hatch and tries to sneak in. The moment Harmony notices me, she unlocks the pen for me. "Thanks, girl. Now let's get out there. It looks like we have a big problem."

She rawks and I climb onto her back. She sets off towards the coast. Once we arrive we hide behind a boulder on a cliff and scan the horizon. It's then I notice the ships coming in and docking on the shore.

The Berk flag resides on them.

Harmony rawks quietly, recognising their crest. I pet her, thinking. What are they doing here? How can I get them off of my island without exposing my secrets? Wait... did they find out that this is my island?

I start to panic. If they knew, how so and who else knows? I take a deep breath to calm myself, reassuring myself in my head that they couldn't possibly know. I made sure that Snotlout or anyone else didn't follow me back here and I've told nobody. This is probably just them out on other business.

I see Stoick step onto my island. The thought made me shudder. I started to count how many Berkians were with him. Around fifteen, maybe twenty. I could take them with Harmony at my side if it became necessary.

I watched and waited to see what would happen next, hoping that it wouldn't come to that.
