Frozen Flier
A sharp pain in my back causes me to rethink my previous exclamation. I literally freeze, realising what just happened. Coldwater, one of the Speed Stingers, mistook me for a hunter and jabbed me. He coos sadly, trying to apologise, but of course I can't respond.
Coldwater shrieks out for assistance and I'm immediately lifted from the ground in the talons of another dragon. I can't tell who grabbed me, but I'm thankful for it when I notice the steel clashing into the spot where I was paralysed just a moment ago.
Stylive flies over to me and grabs a vial I'm carrying with the rest of my equipment. She tries to figure out how to open it, but all she achieves is making a few tooth marks in the bottle. I hope she can get it open somehow.
She then flies over to where Hiccup and Toothless are blasting at hunters. When the human sees me he gasps. Stylive passes him the vial, which he quickly opens for her. She then tips the slightly warm liquid from inside past my lips.
While it takes effect, I'm flown to a ledge and the dragon carrying me sets me down. They land in front of me and I finally see that it was a Change Wing who got me out of there. Though this Change Wing seemed familiar.
The Change Wing from the hunter's ship. She cooed worriedly for me, nuzzling my cheek. The liquid I drank earlier is starting to wear the Speed Stinger venom off and I can move a little if I try. I slowly reach out to it.
It nuzzled my hand gently. I let out a small smile, though it was hidden behind my mask. I wait for a short while to let the venom wear off completely before I mount her, standing up on her back. "Turn invisible and get me down there so I can take out the ones who hurt you," I tell her, to which she instantly obeys.
Now there is just one problem to solve. Should I milk this yak for everything it's worth, or just get down there?
Obviously my choice is easy.
"I call upon the wings of dragon kind!" I bellow dramatically, not caring that I look and sound like an idiot, holding out my arms as though I'm about to Blast something out of them, but secretly I'm grabbing a decent hold on the Change Wing so I don't fall. Everyone below looks at me like I'm crazy.
The Change Wing snickers quietly below me before taking off, making it look as though I'm flying without the help of wings or a dragon. Gasps erupt below me and around fifty hunters retreat at the mere sight of a flying human.
"Surrender now or you all shall perish!" I shout, now acting more serious. "This is not even my island and you can see how badly I take your threat to the dragons who live here!"
"That man's crazy!" Is the favourite thing to be shouted right now. I chuckle darkly, making myself seem as threatening as I can. I need to scare these guys off.
"Leave here! Leave dragons in peace! Never raise neither hand nor steel to them again! Or I will be after your heads!"
Most of them are fleeing now, though I can't help but feel as though this is too easy. Where's the fun in saying 'boo' when all they do is leave?
So I turn my attention to Balkor and let out a growl similar to a dragon's. The Change Wing that flies beneath me joins in, making it sound as though we are one and the same.
"Get off that dragon and fight me, little girl!" He shouts, raising an axe. "I have a better idea," I reply, grabbing my sword and throwing it blade first at him. He merely catches it, chuckling, inspecting it. "Slate was right. Beautiful craftsmanship. Shame this thing isn't going to help you out."
He throws it back at me like a hunting spear and I catch it as well, though instead of the blade I grab the handle. "Actually, it's done it's job perfectly," I state, waiting for the right moment.
He starts to let out a manic laugh that bellows through the air, leaving a stale and bitter taste. I let him. It's the least I can do to let him laugh one last time before his death.
"I'll get to those Night Furies of yours and kill them all," Balkor declares, smirking as though he's won. I lean slightly closer, my eyes narrowing. "What Night Furies? I was speaking the truth when I said I only knew one. How do you like my acting skills now?"
He snarls at me and moves in for a killer blow to me, but before he can a blast of magnesium fire blacks him. "Great job, Stormfly!" A familiar voice shouts.
I look up in time to see the other riders all arriving and joining the fight, freeing captured dragons and blasting the hunters away. I smirk beneath my mask and nod to them all. "Leave this one to me, he'll be dead before you know it," I tell them. They all obey while Balkor cackles... before it turns to a cough.
"It took a while for the Slitherwing venom to sink through your gloves," I tell him calmly. "Though touching my sword's blade was still a fatal error. You'll die within a minute unless I kill you first. But you don't deserve a nice death like that. You must die a slow, painful death like all those dragons would've suffered at your cruel hands. I said I would no longer be merciful and I meant it."
His eyes widen, clouding over with pain, shock and fury. While he screams and writhes in agony, I pull my mask down, surprising everyone who notices. I stare him in the eye, making sure my face is the last thing he sees before he leaves this world. His eyes don't even close when he let's go of his final grip on life, though they glaze over and his body becomes silent and slack. Only then do I slit his throat and pull my mask back up again.
The fighting has stopped around me and the hunters are all frozen in either shock, fear or at the mercy of the Speed Stingers. "Your leader is dead," I snarl to them all. "You shall all either lose every single one of your memories or suffer the same fate. Your choices?"
While they contemplate their options, I wave my sword around, slitting the throats of the many physically frozen hunters. The dragons help as well by blasting them with scorching fire, slicing them in half with powerful wings and slapping poison to their bodies.
