A Dragon In Need

Stoick starts talking to the others on the ships. I can't catch most of it due to our distance, though I can roughly make out that he's planning on trying to locate some dragon hunters. I sigh in relief. This can also give me an excuse as to why I'm on this island.

"The hunters fled," I state calmly, leaning against the boulder at an angle I can be seen at. Stoick turns to me, visibly surprised to see me there. "I tracked them here but they got away. I've already searched the entire island on foot and from the air."

His brows furrowed. "What did they do to get you of all people after them?" "Let's just say their profession isn't a favourite of mine." I reply, patting Harmony. He seems to get the message and turns back to his companions. "We won't look here. The Dragon Master has done our work for us. Prepare to set off again."

As they set back to work, he glanced at me one more time. "Do you know which way they went?"

"If I did, they'd be on their knees by now," I answer. "Be careful if you check the island northwest from here, though. It's inhabited by Slitherwings."

He nods, barks out a gruff word of thanks and returns to his ships, setting off again. I mount Harmony and fly off to make it look like I'm returning to my island. We fly for a little while until I feel like we've gone far enough. I don't want to leave the real island too long when half of Berk is so close.

We move around the opposite side of the island that we left from in case the Berkians are still for any reason nearby. Luckily they didn't seem to be... except for a certain Night Fury, of course. I sighed. Great, just great. How would I explain myself being here this time in a way that would discourage Hiccup from poking around and wouldn't arouse suspicion if his father heard my lie?

Maybe I could just erase his memories? I can make that happen simply enough and it runs a very little risk, the risk being that if someone catches us I'm a dead woman walking.

I hear a squawk and snap my head around to the Terrible Terror that came here about a month back when Hiccup first sent me that message for help with the Death Song. "Great job, you found her!" Hiccup praised it, flying over as well. So the Terror taught him where to go.

Traitor.

"Didn't expect to run into you here," I try to keep calm when on the inside I'm panicking. I personally know he won't hurt my partners but my fears becoming smoke over sky, blinding me, from the possibility.I've got to protect them at all costs, even if those costs take my own life in the bargain.

"To be honest I was kind of hoping to find you," Hiccup admitted. "I'm just glad you caught me when I was going to visit a friend and not on my island," I give him a pointed look, hoping my lie sounds plausible.

"Yeah... I was wondering how that would go..." he admitted sheepishly. "But I need your help with a friend. Her dragon isn't looking too good and we can't figure out how to help her. We thought that maybe you'd know what to do since you seem to know way more than we do."

"What dragon are we talking about?" I ask, instantly alert. "A Razorwhip," he answered. "Right, I'll bring my own partner in," I nod. "I'll meet you at Berk as soon as I can." "Thank you," he says before leaving. I make a big show of leaving the island, then turn back again the second I dare to.

"Flashwing, I need your help, girl," I tell my Razorwhip the moment I arrive back at the stables. "There's another Razorwhip on Berk who needs us. Are you up to it?"

Flashwing rawked in response and hurried out of her pen. I pet her quickly to show my gratitude before mounting up. She takes off for Berk, letting out a shriek of determination. She's a fiercely loyal dragon, especially where her kind are concerned. I'm sure she'll be a big help in this area of work.

We arrive in record time and I tell Flashwing where to land - right outside Hiccup's hut, where I've spotted Toothless. He roars out when he sees us, causing Hiccup to come through the door. "You came," He seems slightly shocked. "I can't leave a dragon in the condition you mentioned," I reply. "Where is the Razorwhip?"

"Windshear is in here," he answered, gesturing inside. "We're still not sure what's wrong, but it looks like it's getting worse."

He takes me inside and I see the poor thing straight away. I slowly walk around to their front and offered my hand. Windshear allowed me to show her I wasn't a threat. Once that was over I examined her, making sure to be gentle. It took me a while to identify the cause of her illness; a lightly coated substance on her left wing.

I pull Flashwing's Slitherwing poison antidote from her saddle bag and apply it to the infected area. Windshear immediately starts to look slightly better, even if it's not by much. "She'll be alright as long as she keeps fighting it off," I say to Hiccup. He nods in relief.

"... fine, Heather. I'm sure of it. Windshear can take it."

I recognise the voice as Astrid's, though the name of a stranger still made me even more cautious to be here. After a while the two girls enter the room. The one I haven't met I assume to be Heather. The others were right, we do look a lot alike.

Black braided hair, green eyes, fair skin... we could claim to be twins and people would be none the wiser.

She stops the moment she sees me. She seems shocked. "Keep them away from Windshear!" she blurts out, running to her partner protectively. "I can't trust them around her!"
