Chapter 11: Sora and the Flying Creature

6 months later.......

(Sora:)

Sora isn't your average girl. She never cared for makeup or gossip or pretty clothing. She never cared for big guys with muscle cars or big trucks. She didn't even care being popular or even perfection. And yet, she the most beautiful girl in Cevalon High.

She has long black hair with cute curls at the ends, bangs elegant looking. Most girls wear what they think is in fashion at the time. She wears whatever she wants to wear. Like she is now at night and under the light of the moon. She's wearing a black colored skull tank top and black cargo pants and black boots. She has a a black slim collar around her neck. Not too tight to choke her but not too loose enough for it to fall down her neck. Facial feature are elegant, nice cheek bones. Eyes a decent light blue. Skin tone whiter than normal but not to the point of pale. And her skin is clean, never touched by makeup or cosmetics. As if she needed it. And zits never show up. Which is odd for a 18 year old, where zits and pimples tend to thrive. Most girls at school thinks she's absolutely perfect. But she never thought she was perfect. Not even in the slightest. Her personality though is like the icing on the cake.

She's shy. Kind as well. She doesn't talk much and when she does, people fall for her beautiful voice. She never raised her voice or lash out. She never can get angry even if you mess with her. She loves to read. Sometimes even write. If she sees someone hurt or bullied, she'll stand up to them and help those who need. There are sometimes that people think she's an angel. But she's not. Other than all of that, there is one trait that can sometimes define her: sadness. Overpowering sadness. She hid it well, but at home, she tends to cry herself to sleep. She used to be happy all the time. She used to never shed a tear even if hurt. That is, until that day 3 years ago.

The day she'll never forget. The day her parents died. They were killed because their car exploded as they were leaving the house. It was rigged to blow. Well, that's what the cops told her and her aunt. Her father was a well respected judge and her mother was a lawyer. Go figure. You think they would dislike each other. But they never did. But, there were those who did. She remembered that her mother was doing a very big case to convict a mob boss in New York. Her father was the judge during the mob boss's case. They never took bribes, no matter how much. Because of this, their car exploded 1 week before the trial. What's worse of all, Is that she was there. She watched it all. She stood outside, waving at them when it exploded. Her voice was hoarse from all the screaming her beautiful voice could muster.

Her neighbors felt sorry for her and were always were kind to her. Some asked her if she would live with them. Even her aunt tried to get her to live with her. But she refused. Instead, she asked her aunt, who lived in a town close to Brinston(where David lived) called Sorenville. It's a lovely town that's a little bigger than it's neighbor with a population approximately 33,841 people and growing.

Her aunt smile when she asked her that. She told her that a house across the street from hers was vacated 3 weeks ago. It's was a big and beautiful old house. After most of the stuff was moved into storage, she sold the house. She didn't want to be reminded of this house, or mainly the pain she suffered when she stood outside of the house. The money her parents left her was large sum. She can take care of herself. And so she left New York and came to live in Sorenville. While living in her new house, her aunt asked her if she wouldn't mind if someone would live with her as temporary guardian. She didn't mind.

When school started back, she attended Cevalon high. She transferred all of her school transcripts months ago. She finished middle school in New York and was gonna attend a high school in New York. However, that was before the accident. During her first year attending Cevalon High, people saw how beautiful she was. Some of the girls tried to bully her, but it never worked. It was because her sadness was showing brightly. They didn't have the heart, no matter how jealous they were, to bully her. Some began to take a liking to her. She ended up being followed by a bunch of girls. To be friends. She never cared. She just did what ever she wanted to do.

She wrote a book called The White Raven, a story where a girl who's life was full of pain and suffering and didn't know what to do. Then the girl found a rare sight. A raven with white feathers that was very wounded with both broken wings. She decided to take care of the raven, not realizing that she was like this raven, broken. When the raven was healed, she released it but it never left. It flew away, only to return to her. She felt renewed. As though she can do anything and be anything. But because of what she did for the raven, it was able to live on. If a raven can continue to live, so can she. That book was the New York Times best seller. It sold over 2 million copies.

Now, it's her senior year. She did many things and helped a lot of people. And lot of people liked her too. She should be happy. She should feel joyful for being liked. And yet, she never smiled, never laughed, and never felt joy. She tried to laugh. She tried to smile but she never could. She never even felt love. Even though there are those who liked and maybe even loved her, the feeling wasn't mutual. The only people she truly loved were taken from her. She may never feel love or even happy ever again.

However, one night under the light of a beautiful full moon, something happened that changed her life forever. It was during the month of November, when it would get colder at night. She didn't mind the cold. Not at all. In fact, whenever there's a full moon. She would sit on the balcony on the second floor of her house, she and write or read using the full moon's light. Whenever she looked up at it, she felt amazed. When she sees it, she comes so close to feeling happiness or a sliver of joy. That's why she always this time to write. Even though she wrote White Raven when she was sad. It was during a full moon when she wrote it. At the time now, she was working on a short novel about a man who was looking for his brother, not knowing that he died 8 years ago. She writes a little and then looked to the sky, directly at the moon.

"It's beautiful tonight as well." She mused as she looked on in wonder. The moon never fails to be beautiful to look at. "Then again the moon never fails to look amazing." Sometimes she wonder if it's even capable of not being beautiful or amazing.

People who came to hang out with her on a full moon night often say she's similar to the moon. That she was beautiful and amazing. Even mystical. She didn't feel the same way. Even if she was beautiful or amazing or even mystical, the moon has not known sadness like her. Or pain like her.

Something peculiar pulls her out of her thought. Looking out at the moon, she sees something strange. A shadow flying in front of the moon. It was low enough to get a decent size of the figure.

"What is that?" She saw it as it flew from one edge to another. She put on a jacket and shoes since she was already dressed, and jetted out the door. She looked up, looking for the figure. Finally, she spotted it. Flying away. But is looked as though it was flying lower. Curiosity getting the best of her, she decided to follow it. So she jetted into the woods, trying to keep it in sight, but keeping at a distance.

She traveled deep into the woods, trying to not lose sight of it. Then it landed in the middle of a small field. She stayed within the forest as she crept forward to get a better look at it. Already in the field was 2 SUVs and 6 men wearing black and white suits.

However, her eyes were fixed on the creature in front of her looking away. At the time clouds moved in front if the moon, cutting off light as it landed. Then the moon came ever slowly from behind the clouds, illuminating the field. When the moonlight shine down on the figure, her eyes got wide and she did as silent gasped.

She couldn't believe what she was seeing. It was mystical and beautiful. It had blue scales on it body. Looking from behind, it was wearing a solid black tank top as well as black pants. But what caught her attention was the wings. Yes. Wings. They looked bay like and the sheetlike tissue of wings were a darker shade of blue. She looked down and saw that it also had a tail. The tail was long, thin and covered in smoothed scales. Then the figure turned around and looked at the moon. In that moment, it was facing her. It stated like that for a moment, but her eyes got wide and she loosed a low gasp as she looked at the figure.

It looked half human, half something else. It's face looked like a normal human face but blue. It had thorny spikes at the bottom of its head and and on the side. It was covered in smooth blue scales. It's eyes were blue. She was transfixed at the site. She knew seen anything like it.

It was beautiful. It looked so mystical. Then she felt it. Deep inside. A feeling she never felt before. Her heart was beating faster. She had a hard time controlling her breathing. This creature made her feel something she never felt in a long time.

The creature looked at the men and retracted it's wing back into its body and put on a heavy looking coat that covered it completely. Then one of the men opened the door and it got inside. Then the SUVs drove off and back into to darkness.

She waited for 10 minutes before deciding that it was safe. She stood up and walked to the center of the field.

"What was that creature?" She thought.
From looking at it back then she knew it was male. She couldn't shake that feeling she had. Her heart continued to beat faster.

"Whatever that creature was, it made me feel-" she never finished. She turned around and entered back into the forest from wince she came. She felt in awe of that creature. It was beautiful. Mystical. She hadn't realized that her face was beet red. Most of all, she felt something she hadn't felt in a long time and something else. She felt happy. For once in a long time, she was happy. And in love.

As Sora reentered the forest, she hadn't realized that she was being watched. A few seconds later, men in black suits. One those men from earlier spoke.

"I had a feeling we were being watched. She knows too much."

Another of the men replied. "You're right. We must get her. But not now."

The first man spoke. "Alright. We'll take her tomorrow night. For now, let's get back to base."

"Alright." The second man replied.

Then the men disappeared back into the woods.

Uh oh. That doesn't sound good. What'll happen. Don't forget to vote or comment.
