Same Ends, New Beginnings

"Dapple, be careful!"

Stylive, Melanite and I were just in time to watch the Night Fury egg hatch. It was a little boy with mischievous green eyes and wings speckled with dustings of dark grey amidst the black, hence the name Dapple. He's a very cute little guy and he loves playing with Jewel and Nightshade.

Unlike Jewel, he isn't as shy and gets straight to the important stuff; play time. The three Night Furies have become the best of friends and are constantly turning everything into a game.

Melanite took an instant liking to everyone at the sanctuary, though at first she was a little nervous around all the adult dragons as she'd never seen so many different species and so many dragons in one place before. However, she loved the hatchlings.

Jewel kept Melanite thoroughly entertained while I got us some food and showed Dapple around the place so that the newest member of our little pack wouldn't get lost as easily as if he was just left to fend for himself.

I didn't want to leave sweet little Dapple alone, especially since the next time I came here he'd already be a full month old, but I couldn't exactly take him with me to the Morphwing territory for a month so I didn't have much choice in the matter.

Eventually I said my goodbyes to my partners, set Dapple up in the hatchling pen, briefly spoke with Alpine and then finally left to go back to the Morphwing territory with Melanite.

We made it just before dark, which was good because that was our curfew and Selene was already worried sick about her two daughters who were out all alone.

It was true that we were alone because Stylive decided to stay at the sanctuary since Camo was still here and I trust my family now so it wasn't completely necessary for her to stick around. She said she'd take extra good care of Dapple for me, which I'm sure she will do.

I have to admit, I love spending more time with my family without having to worry about getting back to the sanctuary. All we've been doing is playing around and having fun. I've even spoken to Plasma a few times, though not his father yet as I'm still annoyed with the Morphwing Alpha for attempting to mind control me like that that one time.

Alpine has been keeping me up to date with everything that goes on at the sanctuary. Apparently Hiccup and Astrid have been stopping by every once in a while to check on the place. Well, Astrid has been. Toothless isn't exactly a fan favourite around the sanctuary anymore after word got out that he attacked me and Alpine, so he hasn't been welcomed in and therefore neither has Hiccup.

Apparently Astrid has helped take on some dragon hunters who tried to attack the place while she was visiting. She's becoming quite popular with the pack, as it turns out. She's a great help, even if she doesn't realise it, and to be honest the fact that Astrid has taken my place with that attack has really put my mind at peace. I know my pack are safe with her.

I'll have to thank Astrid somehow when I'm off off my rest period, as I'm calling it, but until then I'm going to make the most of my relaxation and fun time with my family.

I've been hanging out with Adriana a lot recently, too. I still haven't shown her my face under my mask yet, but she doesn't seem to mind, or at least she doesn't make a fuss over the fact that her mate has seen but not her, my 'bestest friend ever' as she says.

I've even taught Melanite some special tricks that I used to teach to Stylive when she was just a hatchling and I was just a little girl. Some of them I had to modify to work with the type of dragon she is and some I had to cut out completely, but what she did learn she picked up relatively quickly.

Now whenever we go for a flight, she always one ups Asher the show-off's tricks. It's so funny to see him lose to his baby sister every single time. He's even tried to bribe me into teaching him an extra cool trick but it never worked as he never had anything I really wanted.

He's been staying in his new cave with Adriana so I've been crashing in his old nest with Selene and Melanite. As for Camo, I'm not sure what he's been up to lately, he's remained invisible, but whenever I ask Alpine always assures me that Camo says he's just fine and having lots of fun by himself.

I'm having a lot of fun myself, to be honest. It's only a week into my rest period and Melanite and Adriana couldn't be happier that I'm around all the time with nothing more to do than play whatever game they suggest.

I used to be that girl who had a loving family that disappeared one day when she was young. But now I'm that girl who has a great little sister, a cocky bit still wonderful big brother and a caring mother. I wouldn't trade any of them for the world.

Recently I've started to test out calling Selene 'mum' or 'mother', but usually I stick to just plain Selene unless I'm in a particularly good mood. She loves it when I call her that, though she seems just as happy to hear me call her by her real name, too.

In short, my sister is a little princess, my brother is a cocky but happy-go-lucky character you can't help but love, my best friend - and, of course, future sister-in-law as I have to say around her or Asher - is a fun-loving weirdo who everybody likes and my mother...

Well, let's just say she could always be known as...

The 'Dragon Goddess'.
