The Sun Village

They made it to Warrod's house easy enough... Warrod was rather happy to see Acnologia. He invited them over to tea...

'oh, goodie.'

Acnologia despised tea, it wasn't strong enough and it was way too natural... and Anna had loved it.

'Stupid tea.'

Team Natsu was sent off to go help the Sun village while Acnologia stayed back.

"You haven't aged a bit great dragon," Warrod chuckled as he poured Acnologia another glass of damn tea.

"Cut to the chase tree face, what's going on?" Acnologia growled looking down at the tea with disdain.

"I believe that a demon slayer froze this sun village, a very strong demon slayer."

"And why is that suddenly important?"

"Something is about to happen Acnologia, I can feel it. Fairy Tail will be involved."

"Aren't we always?" Acnologia asked pouring his tea into the nearest potted plant nonchalantly.

"You should be careful, I fear for you," Warrod sighed.

"You could come back," Acnologia scoffed.

"The guild isn't what it was, not now that Mavis is dead," Warrod sighed.

"I suppose so, but still, it isn't all that bad."

They sat in silence watching as Warrod's tree dragon flying thing take team Natsu farther and farther away through Warrod's window.

"Sit down, and tell me of your parenting problems," Warrod sighed suddenly another pot of tea ready.

Team Natsu made it to the sun village in amazing time, indeed the whole village, including the giants were encased in ice.

"This makes me feel weird, it's almost... like I'm having De Ja Vu," Gray commented.

"I know what you mean," Lucy nodded.

"Man, I wish Wendy came, she's missing out," Natsu chuckled.

"Aye Sir, it would be nice if Charle had been here as well," Happy laughed.

"Focus, we're here on a job don't forget," Erza scolded.

They walked through the village until Natsu stopped and smelled the air.

"What is it Natsu?" Lucy asked.

"I... I smell someone," Natsu answered.

"Well, well look what we have here," a voice chuckled.

Team Natsu whipped around and found themselves facing three members of Sylph Labyrinth, a treasure-hunting group. They provoked the mage's interests with a bottle of moon drip, a powerful substance that could melt the ice. Erza ordered that the mages run after them... they all did.

Meanwhile high above the village were two people atop a flying one-eyed monster thing.

"Let's go I'm dying to get started," Doriate laughed.

"No, we now know that Fairy Tail is here, we must strike Sabertooth now before it is too late," another voice answered.

"Why are you so engrossed with Sabertooth!?"

"There is someone there who stole something from me; I mean to punish her... immediately."

"You're no fun," Doriate hissed before turning the beats around and heading for Sabertooth.

Team Natsu had succeeded in cornering Sylph Labyrinth, and the two groups had resorted to fighting. They succeeded in getting the moon drip bottle away from the group... and then Happy broke it. Natsu was intrigued by the hole and listened closely.

"What is it Natsu?" Gray asked.

"I hear something... it's... not human," Natsu pondered.

Back and Warrod's house Acnologia stiffened.

"What is it, great dragon?" Warrod asked.

"There's one left," Acnologia growled to himself running out the door.

"Good luck," Warrod smiled not asking what Acnologia had said. He had already accepted that Acnologia was a strange one.

Natsu took off following the voice, Gray, and Happy followed. Lucy and Erza were left hypothesizing where to find the eternal flame. They concluded that it could be in the opposite direction of the village and began walking when they were suddenly attacked by Sylph Labyrinth who wanted to steal Lucy's gate keys... as expected Lucy and Erza were enraged even more so when the men showed evident disrespect for the giants.

Erza and Lucy began fighting two on two; it was only when Lucy remembered that there were three that a shot sounded out. Lucy would have been hit if Flare Corona hadn't intervened.

"Flare?" Lucy asked.

"Watch out for the scarlet haired, she's dangerous, Blondie's sweet yet deadly, but the other redhead, watch out she's crazy," Flare giggled.

"What are you doing here?" Erza asked.

"This is my home, you are trying to help my family, therefore I will help you," Flare answered with a smile.

The girls nodded and began destroying the treasure hunting guild.

After the treasure hunters were dealt with, Flare led the group to the eternal flame which turned out to be the mountain itself. Gray was able to manipulate the Ice while Natsu used his fire to reawaken the flame.

They smiled as it burned and looked over the village.

"Hey, look at that large bird just at the horizon," Lucy said pointing away from the fire.

Natsu looked and his eyes narrowed, "that's not a bird, it's Uncle."

"What do you think is wrong?"

A roar sounded out above the land, Acnologia was roaring.

"What's he's saying?" Lucy cried.

"Uhhh...." Natsu wondered cocking his head, "He's asking if the dragon is threatening?" Natsu questioned.

"Dragon, what dragon?" Erza asked.

Then the eternal flame roared in response startling team Natsu.

"The Flame is a dragon!" Natsu gasped.

Then Acnologia in dragon form landed between the dragon and the mages.

"Acnologia," the flame dragon recognized calming down.

"Atlas Flame, and here I thought I was the last dragon alive," Acnologia chuckled folding his wings.

"I am growing weak Acnologia, very soon my mind will be no more and my spirit shall go to the heavens."

"Well wait for a second, I have questions," Acnologia growled.

"You want to know where the others went," Atlas guessed.

"Yes."

"I don't know after Igneel disappeared all Flame and Fire dragons went into hiding. One by one they were all gone until I was the only one left. I hid here going into the sleep for hundreds of years... it took its toll."

"The sleep drains you of your power; you're nothing but a sliver of your spirit."

"It's true; I fear that I can't last much longer."

"You must, Igneel wishes it so."

"Igneel is gone, the time of Dragons is done," Atlas sighed.

"You're wrong!" Natsu cried.

"Natsu," Acnologia warned.

"No! Igneel will come back, all the dragons will! The dragons still have time to return! You can't give up hope, Igneel wouldn't want you to!" Natsu cried walking up and standing between Acnologia and Atlas.

"And who are you," Atlas snarled.

"This is Natsu Dragneel," Acnologia chuckled.

Atlas bent down studying Natsu, "But how, is this boy, is he somehow tied to Igneel?"

"Yeah, I'm his son," Natsu smiled.

"Son huh?" Atlas asked.

"My nephew," Acnologia nodded.

"Ah, well Natsu Dragneel, do you believe your father can return?"

"Of course I do."

"Then you are a fool, but so was Igneel and his foolishness allowed him to win many battles."

"He was an idiot," Acnologia nodded.

"Aye, remember the battle at wing pass?" Atlas asked looking to Acnologia.

"How could I not?" Acnologia gritted.

"Oh, he flew in spitting fire at twenty other dragons," Atlas laughed.

"The idiot, I almost lost my tail trying to save him," Acnologia chuckled. "Metalicana was pissed."

"When was he ever not pissed?"

"If I remember right you were the one the singed Grandeeney's feathers?"

"I flew as fast as my wings could take me, that woman terrified me."

"She dealt with it well; she was never concerned about her appearance."

"Still, a terrifying dragon."

"The only one that could scare Weisslogia out of his naps."

"And Skiadrum out of his rage."

"Good times."

"Aye, a pity they had to end," Atlas sighed, his voice came out ragged and he began to cough.

"You're dying," Natsu said sadly.

"Yes son of Igneel, but my death shall not be in vain... I will save the people that for so long guarded me," Atlas said looking down at Flare.

"Please great dragon, have pity on us," Flare said as she bowed.

"You possess a great gift young one; your hair possesses my flame, a gift like that should not be taken lightly. You are now the new guardian of the sun village, I trust that you will do just fine young one," atlas smiled.

"You're not a dragon slayer, but you're about as close as one can get," Acnologia smiled.

"Thank you great eternal flame," Flare cried.

"Now, let's see what we can do about this ice," Atlas said.

"This will kill you," Acnologia warned.

"I'm already dead, let my life be used to save these lives," Atlas nodded.

"Goodbye Atlas," Acnologia sighed.

"Farewell king," Atlas smiled as he disappeared in the flames.

The village was freed from its icy prison, Flare reunited with the giants, and Acnologia flew the others home with their reward from Warrod. Acnologia personally expecting a peaceful week...

He was to be disappointed.
