A Victory Ensured

Brandish looked around... She could have sworn that she had-

"Lady Brandish!" a soldier shrieked.

She knew what to expect. The dragon unleashed its breath; then it found it was three inches high and its breath hardly disturbed a stone.

"That will be your last mistake," Brandish said simply as she walked up. She then squished the beast beneath her heel.

"What the hell just happened Warren?!" Gildarts yelled over the telepathy.

"I... I have no idea!" Warren yelled looking around.

Seilah looked up in wonder, she was holding her wounded leg.

"Jackal..." she murmured looking to her comrade. Jackal's eyes were open and he seemed to be shaking.

"Jackal, what was that?" Seilah asked.

"I'm not sure..." Jackal lied.

"Weren't we going to the medical tents?" Seilah wondered.

"Yeah, come on," Jackal said softly standing up and helping Seilah to her feet.

"Jackal... is something wrong?" Seilah asked.

"Sorry," Jackal bit. He signed something with his hand and Seilah froze; then suddenly she turned into a large purple book. Jackal gingerly picked it up, then he heard stones shift as someone approached. "Sorry bout this Seilah... you may have a few burns when this is over,"  he said softly.

He then gripped the book and threw it, propelling his hand with an explosion that sent Seilah's now scorched book flying over the land.

Jackal watched the book disappear into friendly territory and smiled. There was a roar and he ducked low as a dragon flew overhead. He slowly straightened up and took his gloves off. Then he turned and gave a psychotic smile before blasting the mountain before him into oblivion. Five dragon slayers fled the stones and confronted the demon.

"What's going on?" a fifth-generation dragon slayer hissed to her comrades.

"Time distortion detected; source, unknown," a fourth-generation dragon slayer rattled off.

"You ready to die!?" Jackal roared, "Cause I'm ready for you now!!"

"Forget the time thing! Focus on the task at hand," a yellow-haired fifth-generation dragon slayer yelled, "I want to finish this one quickly."

Jackal roared and rushed the dragon slayers.

"Juvia, Meredy!" Gray yelled pushing the two girls down as a dragon's green energy roar came barreling towards them.

"That was close," Meredy sighed, then her gaze narrowed, "what just happened?"

"You three should be more careful!" Lyons scolded quickly. Then his eyes widened and he turned expectantly as the dragon slayer from before brought his hands together.

"As should you!" the dragon slayer laughed releasing a beam of energy. Lyon brought up an ice wall that blocked it.

"Magility Sodom!" Meredy yelled attacking the dragon slayer.

Once he was disposed of the four looked to each other.

"What just happened?" Juvia asked.

"I...I don't know," Gray muttered feeling his chest which had been pierced just a moment ago. He had been dead.

"Juvia thinks-" Juvia began.

Gray turned his mind quickly figuring it, he raised his hands and when the fourth generation dragon slayer emerged he was ready.

"Target 72, lock o-" the dragon slayer began.

"ICE MAKE EAGLES!"

"ICE MAKE LANCE!"

"WATER NEBULA!"

"MAGILITY SODOM!"

The fourth-generation dragon slayer didn't stand a chance.

"Levy, watch out!" Jet yelled.

Levy turned and jumped away from the lunging dragon. It was deja-vu... or maybe something else.

"Muzzle!" she yelled. Just as before the dragon backed away angered by the iron muzzle around its jaws.

"Ni-" Droy began, then he remembered. Droy turned just as the dragon slayer from before jumped for him. Then Jet was there delivering a kick to the dragon slayer's side and sending them skidding over the earth.

"Thanks," Droy breathed.

"Can't lose you, buddy," Jet grinned, "Again... I think."

"Solid Script; chains!" Levy yelled. The dragon slayer was then chained to the ground with anti-magic chains. Levy smiled proudly. Then, just as before, another dragon slayer solidified out of dust behind her. She was ready. "AND WATER!" she yelled turning on the dragon slayer who was hit with a jet of water which rendered his dust powers irrelevant. He was then sent into the air by a plant attack; courtesy of Droy.

Erza remained focused but she trembled as she reequipped again. Many dragon slayers fell to her swords but twice as many fought her with vengeance. She blinked and wondered why this felt so familiar.

"Your time is up knight!" one screamed; she made the sword Erza threw towards her melt when she touched it. She rushed at Erza who was wondering what was going on. She defended herself against that dragon and took many more down, they all rushed for her and for a moment she wondered if they were going to best her. Then, just as before she was saved by a dark magic attack

"I suppose you could've handled them too?" Jellal asked walking up. Erza smiled.

"Thank you," she sighed, then it dawned on her. She ran up to Jellal and shoved him aside while at the same time stabbing the air behind him. There was a cry of anguish and a dragon slayer materialized in front of Erza. The fourth-generation dragon slayer let out a final click before going limp.

"What just happened?" Jellal asked.

"I'm... I'm not sure," Erza answered truthfully.

"Yo Macbeth! Have you seen Sorano around!?" Sawyer asked punching a dragon slayer aside. He looked around wondering how he had gotten back here.

"No," Macbeth scoffed, "Haven't you already asked me?"

"I... I don't know," Sawyer answered. "Richard how about you?" Sawyer asked sending a few dragon slayers flying as he ran up to the mage and his brother.

"Unfortunately not," Richard said.

"Sorry," Wally shrugged, "I could have sworn I shock that sucker a few moments ago," he pondered to himself as he shot a fourth-generation dragon slayer.

"Alright, I'll go check the-" Sawyer sighed to himself running to the east. He froze in the familiar valley and narrowed his eyes. Now it was coming back to him. He rushed around the valley, doubling back and approaching the familiar dragon slayer from the back. He sent the dragon slayer flying with a simple punch. The dragon slayer landed in the center of the valley and was barraged by attack after attack.

"How's that for 'little speedy'!" Sawyer snarled knocking the dragon slayer out with a final punch.

"Kagura... there are a whole lot of them," Risely informed her comrade. She froze and wondered what just happened.

"I am aware... but we must push forward," Kagura gritted dismissing whatever she had just seen.

"Kagura! Watch out!" Millianna cried.

Kagura turned knowingly to the acid dragon that descended. Without hesitation, she lunged and slashed at one of its eyes. Blood from the dragon splattered on her cheek but she looked knowingly at its claw and when it came to knock her aside she used her gravity magic making the dragon collapse under the pressure. Then, she took its other eye.

"Alzack...." Bisca said knowingly.

The two looked at each other and quickly rolled away right before the earth opened and the earth dragon burst out.

"So, you knew where I'd be... that's kinda annoying,"  the dragon slayer chuckled looking to both of them.

Bisca pulled an automatic shotgun out of a magic circle and unloaded a clip into the dragon slayer. Alzack pulled two handguns out of a magic circle and unloaded both of those clips into the dragon slayer as well.

The dragon slayer chuckled as the bullets bounced harmlessly off his skin, that was until Bisca jumped away and pulled a large gun out of a magic circle and fired a rocket at him.

He wasn't a big fan of that.

"You know what... lead poisoning is pretty annoying too," Bisca chuckled as the crisp of a dragon slayer fell on his face.

"Mam' the enemy-" a Sabertooth member began.

Orga shoved the member aside and blasted the dragon slayer behind him with a huge amount of lightning that killed him. The member held their neck remembering the feeling of their throat being ripped out.

"Mistress... something... happened," Doranbolt said shocked looking around.

"I've done this before... I remember..." Rufus nodded sending a huge amount of fourth-generation dragon slayer flying.

"We must hold our position!" Minerva yelled manipulating space and making a few dragon slayers disappear.

"No, don't hold your position!" someone laughed.

Minerva was ready. She disappeared into space and the dragon slayer went with her. When they emerge again the dragon slayer was unconscious and Minerva looked to her guild a fire in her eye.

"TO VICTORY!" she yelled.

Sorano and Yukino looked at the crossroads. And then they looked at each other.

"Not left," Sorano said quickly.

"No," Yukino agreed.

The two girls ran to the right; they knocked a dragon slayer aside and kept running all the way to a cliff.

"Not again," Sorano gritted.

"I can do with a cliff," Yukino chuckled, "Open Gate of the Twin Fish; Pisces!" she yelled. The two huge eels emerged and Yukino jumped on one, she gestured to her sister, "Come on!"

Sorano smiled and summoned an angel, "I'll just leave them something to remember us by."

With that, she jumped onto Pisces back behind her sister and flew to the west where they saw familiar people fighting.

Their pursuers were left fighting a huge angel who only focused on making sure that they didn't follow.

The two sisters cheered and wondered how they were still alive.

A fifth-generation dragon slayer looked around, "What was that?"

"Do you think Master did something with the bonds of time?" another asked.

"20% likelihood of it being Master's work," a fourth-generation dragon slayer stated, "50% chance it was work of the enemy, 25% chance it was one of our own, and 5% chance it was a phenomenon.

"Great," the first sighed.

The two minutes gave the mages the time they needed to gain an edge, but it gave Acnologia something too... and in doing so, gave the dragon slayers much, much more.
