The Executioners & Forgotten Memories
Hey guys! I'm just forewarning you the Executioners in this chapter are the same people in the anime. However, their powers may be a bit different. This is because I don't want to take all of Hiro's credit but I am using the same characters, but they are a little different...Sorry...🙃

Natsu
We were all rattled up after meeting the Jade Dragon. Wendy was exhausted from using Milky Way which slowed us down even more. The caverns were humid and hot, it was beginning to make me sweat. "It feels like we're walking on fire!" Levy groaned waving her hand up to her face. I nodded my head, holding Lucy's legs with my arms as she still slept soundly on my back. Gwen strolled beside me. She hasn't spoken some time, appearing to be in her own thoughts. I wouldn't blame her since our group knows her secret, I'm not even sure Lucy discovered this about Gwen. Yukino kept to herself as she trailed behind us with PantherLily close to her. "Gods, are we even close to finding an exit?" Mira muttered still in the lead with her head held high.
It was nothing but silence between all of us, a silence that was making my ears ring in horror from the deepness of the cavern. I halted my eyes dilating when I suddenly heard something in the distance. "Wait!" I ordered halting everyone. Gwen stared at the ground with her eyes intently focused on the mud floor. "You hear it too." She whispered now looking up to me. Then a loud bang echoed across the cavern walls. Our group circled up with Lucy being in the center because of my back. The loud bang erupted the cavern walls again. "Something's coming!" Happy screamed as both he and Carla were still flying above us. "Or someone," Yukino said holding her celestial keys in hand. I grit my teeth in frustration as the noise kept coming closer. I wasn't able to fight, my hands were full from carrying my unconscious soulmate.
There, a burst of wicked laughter caught us off guard. It was too quick when we saw what looked like a card made of fire being thrown before us. Without a second we all barely dodged these unknown enemies attack just by pure luck. I threw myself pulling Lucy into my chest before I landed on my back. The team was scattered when the laugh was clear as day when another card exploded like dynamite making the walls of rock shake. My eyes opened to see five people covered in darkness. "Who the hell are you!" I demanded sitting back up as Lucy was still motionless in my arms. "Adorable. The target still hasn't wakened up yet. This will be too easy to do." One out of the five people spoke with the voice being a woman.
Soon enough the darkness was no longer there as the unknown group finally showed themselves. All of them were dressed strangely, from a man that was bald and his lips ginormous as he wore an opened shirt and blue pants. There were two women with one wearing what looked like pink petals for clothes, green long boots and a strange hat that sat on top of her pink hair. The other woman wore a dark purple dress that was held by a long red bow around her waist with her long brown hair that met her feet in pigtails. The last two were male, one is fairly big with a small cannon in his mouth. His hair was spiky and short with his beady eyes looking at us. The final member was cloaked to where there was no description of his face. The cloaked man had two large scythes on his back as he had a steel mask hiding his face.
The pink woman laughed at my question. "We are your nightmare. We are the reason no one escapes the Pits. We are the Executioners." Yukino gasped at the lady's reply. "No...I thought they were a myth. They exist!?" Mira wiped away the small debris from her face. "The Executioners? Who are they?" Yukino shook with fear as she held herself. "They are the blade of the Royalty. The Executioners one and only duty is to kill any criminal that attempts to escape! His Highness or the Princess can snap their finger and these people will do anything just to terminate someone." The brown-haired woman snapped her fingers, making cards surround her like birds. "That's is certainly right. Our first target is Lucy Heartfilia." I stood up with Lucy still clutched in my arms. "Like hell, I'm letting any of you touch her!"
"You don't have a choice mister," The bald man yelled. "it doesn't matter how long we stand here and fight, we will prevail and succeed in exterminating anyone, and anything...starting with her." My teeth clenched in rage when my comrades stood beside me. Wendy came next to me. "I'll take care of Lucy. You go ahead and beat these guys." I looked at Wendy for a moment, then nodded my head in return. "Don't let any of them lay a finger on her." Wendy wrapped Lucy's arm around her neck and ran behind us to stay out of the way. I darted left and right as all Fairy Tail mages stance ourselves to fight. The cloaked man only shook his head. "You will wish you stayed out of our way..." I grinned lighting my hands aflame. "I'm all fired up!"
It was not a moment later the pink woman jumped in the air with tangled roots coming out of the rocky floor. The other woman shifted to her left and ran as she held cards between her fingers. All of them scattered trying to run around us to get Lucy. I ran forward going after the cloaked man with the scythes on his back. "Fire Dragon... ROAR!" My fire charred the land in front of me hitting the cloaked man. "You'll never lay your hand on Lucy!" I roared running through my flames to find him. I continued moving until I felt a clean-cut race across my back halting me in place. I yelled in pain as the scythe seem to extend out of where the man stood behind me. "It's no use." He said walking closer with his scythes extending out again. "Lucy Heartfilia will be exterminated."
"You must be a fool if you actually think I'll allow that to happen." I felt my skin changing into scales for the protection I know I was going to need. The man glared through his mask clutching his scythes that were about to pierce me. I jumped above the scythes igniting my fist that was above my head. "Fire Dragon Iron Fist!" My fist didn't meet him as he dodged my attack, with my attack hitting the ground. I looked up seeing Gwen and Yukino quarreling against the card lady. Mira was up against the bald man by herself, and Levy was outnumbered by the cannon man and pink girl. "Levy!" I shouted when my attention was pulled away from the cloaked man. "She too will perish, just like the rest of you." I pulled myself up huffing in anger. "We're escaping this cave! One way or another Fairy Tail is leaving together!"
"Her Highness is right about you." He said taking a step closer with his scythes close to him. "Her Highness? Are you saying that Hisui sent you freaks to kill us?!" He glared in return. "Princess goes by Her Highness to lowborn as yourselves. She ordered us to terminate Lucy Heartfilia if all else fails to keep the Celestial Mage contained. If anyone attempts to stop us, they too will be killed by the word of Her Highness." I was struck by confusion because I didn't understand why Hisui would even do this to us. The last time I saw her she was helping Fairy Tail to bring Lucy back. She forgave Lucy! The man laughed, staring his beady dull eyes towards me. "Give us Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel." I clenched my teeth as I felt steam coming off my skin. "Over my dead body." I heard someone scream in agony, the scream coming from Levy. "Levy!" Mira shrieked in Satan's Soul Form. I turned only to witness Levy being shredded from the roots pink girl threw at her and the cannon man pulling his small cannon that was in his mouth out to shoot a death blow to the Script Mage. "NO!" I screamed forgetting my opponent to help Levy. Levy pulled against the roots with all her might when I saw tears trailing down her face. "Let me go!" She demanded when cannon man smirked. "This is where you die runt!"
"LEVY!" My voice echoed when the cannon shot, showing a cannonball that hummed the color red and looked as hot as magma. Levy was fully entangled by roots when the ball hit her, causing the cavern to shake to where no one could stand straight. I fell on all four no longer seeing roots or Levy. She was gone... Both the pink girl and cannon man laughed at the finishing blow. My eyes widened, my heart swelled with pain to realize we lost Levy. Mira roared in anger, changing to another form, a more powerful form that I have only seen once: Sitri Form. "LEVY!!!" MiraJane cried out causing the caverns to start collapsing. The ground broke apart showing what looked like hot boiling lava erupting to the surface with Mira holding her head in pain from the loss of a comrade. Gwen swiftly moved into action grabbing ahold of Yukino and putting her over her shoulder. Happy, and the exceeds that we're with Wendy, flew when he grabbed me by my vest and I was pulled up.
"This can't be happening..." I muttered before Mira stood up with what must have been pure hatred in her eyes. The Executioners moved away from the lava and stood on the platforms that survived the magma. "It seems the Transformation Mage has lost control." Card lady laughed pulling a card out of her bosoms. Cannon man held his small cannon at Mira. "Not to worry, I'll finish her off as I did to the runt!" The tiny cannon turned dark red as it let out a large cannonball exact to the one that made Levy vanish. "Happy!"
"Aye sir!" Happy replied knowing what he needed to do. Happy flew me as fast as he could to reach Mira, but the cannonball seemed to be faster for my exceed's wings to reach MiraJane in time. "MiraJane, move!" Gwen shouted as the Transformation Mage still kneeled in place grieving over the loss of Levy. The cannonball was about to hit her...when I saw a shadow solidify itself into a shape of a human. The first thing I noticed was the shadow held a long katana made of obsidian. It easily cut the cannonball in half and flew into the walls of the caverns. The shadow became solid with a dark figure standing over Mira with his katana still out in front of him. I gasped, now realizing who this person really was.
It was the Dark Knight.
The Dark Knight threw her helm off to reveal Levy, her eyes maroon and the tar-like veins on her face. Levy revealed her teeth as it was now fangs like a rabid wolf. "Is that all you got?" She smugly asked throwing her turtle-shaped helm to the ground. Mira looked up her eyes widening to see who it was. "L-Levy?" She whispered as Levy pulled another obsidian katana out of thin air. She turned to all of us with her petrifying eyes looking at us. "I am still loyal to Lucy! If we're going to defeat The Executioners then we need Lucy's help!" Levy backflipped over to the Executioners and commenced to fighting all of the Executioners by herself. Levy turned her head my direction still continuing to duel them without needing her eyes. "Wake her up! Natsu you must wake her up!"
"I don't know how!" I yelled back when I jumped in to fight alongside Levy. It blew my mind to see the Dark Knight before me when really it was Levy that wasn't under the Darkness's control. Levy jabbed her katana into the wall and sprung back to kick someone in the cheek, then grabbing the katana again without any problem. "She can't wake up Natsu! The Balance has grown weak and so has the Darkness and Light. Her body is currently trying to restore the Balance so she doesn't wake up in turmoil, but if she isn't awake right now, they will kill Lucy and all of us next!" Levy grabbed my shoulder and pulled me close to her. "Give her a reason to wake up Natsu! Give her a reason to continue." I pulled Levy closer. "How do you know this Levy?!" The Dark Knight Levy smiles sadly to me. "In this form, I am a part of Lucy. The only reason I didn't die from that attack was I unconsciously made myself into a shadow before I was engulfed in flames. Get everyone back together, and wake Lucy up!" I looked over to Gwen. Before needing to say anything she nodded pulling MiraJane and Yukino alongside her. "We can handle this Natsu! Go to Lucy!" Gwen yelled now stepping to battle with the other two girls beside her.
I ran dodging attacks that were being thrown one at another when I eventually made it to where there were large rocks that you can hide from behind. Wendy sat on her knees with Lucy's head in her lap. She was still sleeping. Wendy looked up to me with fearful eyes. "I still can't feel her magic Natsu! There's nothing there, I can't do anything to help Lucy-san! I don't know what to do!" I kneel to where I was in front of Lucy. My hands went and grabbed her face as my thumbs caressed her cheeks. "Lucy," I said softly, leaning down to her face. My forehead connected with her's when I closed my eyes. "We can't escape unless you help us. I need you to fight your way back to us. Come back to me...please Lucy you are the only person that can save us now. If you can't find a reason to wake up," I said tears stinging my eyes. "then let me show you a reason." I crashed my lips against Lucy's never breaking contact when I pulled her into a hug. I felt an ache in my heart until I realized I was starting to cry.
I watched the woman I love taken before my eyes, kissed by another man while being unconscious, put in a coffin that other people died in...and now even more people are trying to kill her. When does it end for Lucy? When can she just finally be happy for who she is and love herself again?
I pulled away. "I love you, Lucy. Please, you need to come back. Come back..."

~Lucy~
"...Come back..."
I felt my heavy eyelids open to only darkness. How long have I been asleep? Where even am I? "Hello?" I called out only to hear the echo of my voice. I sat up forcing myself to stand and turn to only see an endless void. "Natsu!" My panicked voice pleaded, still no one or nothing to answer back. I gasped, feeling my head erupt in pain from the realization of how I got here.
Daniel...
He is the reason I'm trapped. He threw me into the Gate and I never felt so drained in my entire life. My body couldn't even handle how fast and how much magic I lost. "Damn you, Daniel!" I muttered, holding myself closely. With nothing else to say, or even act upon, I began to walk. So far I was enmeshed in the oblivion with no way out. I could only continue calling for my Soulmate's name that seemed to be my only way to feel safe. "Natsu!" I yelled once again, until seeing a small light in the distance. It must be a way out! I ran, reaching for the exit so I can finally see my friends so I can apologize for being a fool, for being so stubborn and an idiot.
"Wait a second..." I saw Hades walking what looked like a cobbled street that was lit with streetlights. The streetlights were the light I saw. Why is Hades here? "Hades!" I ran about to grab his shoulder until I ran through him like a ghost. "Huh?" I still watched him walk on the cobbled pathway and grew more confused about why I couldn't interact with him. Up ahead was a silhouette of a woman. The woman was Seraphina, her same beautiful blonde locks, and golden caramel eyes that sparkled even in darkness. What was going on? Hades stopped in front of Seraphina. "Hello, dear Light Goddess. It's been some time old friend."
"I wouldn't necessarily say 'friend' dear Bringer. I never thought I would see you again." She replied like she's known him forever. How does Seraphina know Hades? "Yes, I am sorry to make you come out so late tonight Light Goddess. I should not even be speaking to you because of the new age of the Dark One." Seraphina crossed her arms. "I did grow worrisome from your letter Bringer. It sounded very dire."
"It is dire Light Goddess. I seem to feel fear of what has happened." Hades admitted, playing with his sleeves. Seraphina's eyes widened in shock. "A Bringer...scared? That's preposterous you are not even suppose to feel." Hades looked away, anguished. "I have broken the one law over the five Bringers, Light Goddess. I have...connected with someone." Seraphina gasped and took a step back. 'Connected'...what did that even mean? "Who! Who is it that made your heart start to beat!" Seraphina yelled as she demands answers. Hades's eyes became sad. "That is...another problem. When the Gods came to me, they asked if I were to make the next Dark One. The Gods, they can become very close to their creations, especially if they put so much time and dedication to their creation. Since Bringers are not allowed to have a beating heart and to never have emotions, they ordered me to create the new Dark One. I...I grew close to her!"
"Hades..." I gasped at what I heard. I couldn't believe this. Hades...Hades was the one that made me...he's the reason why I even exist. "What the hell?!" Seraphina glared at Hades. "And what is the problem?" The Goddess asked angrily. Hades played with his hair that was much shorter than it was today. His hair had curls at the end while he played with a strand. "The Dark One I created carries emotions," Hades admitted taking a step forward. "and you are the reason for this."
"Me?!" Seraphina cried with her hand over her chest. Hades put his hands up in defense. "No, no I am not saying it is your fault. I do not understand it, but she somehow absorbed a piece of your soul, Light Goddess. As I was testing to make sure she was stable, I noticed...tears." Seraphina's eyes became soft. "Tears?"
"Yes. Tears. She was crying as if she lost someone very close to her." The Light Goddess put her hand over her mouth. "I watched my mother die from sickness. I couldn't stop myself from crying that day..." The Bringer grabbed her wrist and caressed her hand. "You know what this means Light Goddess. If the Gods find out about my Dark One feeling emotions, they will kill her for being flawed. The Dark One is not supposed to feel emotions it makes them go insane just like Zelroath!"
"Maybe it's for the best she is killed." My eyes widened from hearing Seraphina say such a thing. Hades too seemed to be alarmed. "Light Goddess you do not understand! The Dark One...my creation, will be condemned to death for only feeling sadness?! It was not the hunger for power or the lust of blood, but sadness!" Hades grabbed ahold of her hands and fell to his knees. "Light Goddess I beg you. Do not kill Zelroath. Seal him away so I can take my creation and hide her. She has a soul now because of you! Please don't let her die by the Gods!" Seraphina only looked down at the Bringer. "Bringer, the Gods are the reason why I hold Magic. I can't do something like this to them. She will be an abomination! The creation holds 'my' soul and holds the power of the Dark One! That will go against everything the Gods have built!"
"She is the reason why my heartbeats. She is the reason I now understand emotions!" Hades only grabbed one hand of Seraphina's. "Feel my chest! Feel what should be impossible and unlawful for the Bringers to have!" Seraphina's hand was on his chest when she released a gasp. "Your heart does beat." She murmured, kneeling and putting her ear on his chest to listen. "It beats so loudly. How is this even possible?" Hades stood back up pulling Seraphina up with him. "I am willing to forfeit everything for my creation to live. She is the reason my heartbeats, but I will lose myself if you kill Zelroath and let her take his place or if you tell the Gods of my secret." One last time Hades went down to his knees and took her hands. "Imprison Zelroath, let my creation live and let her become your next reincarnation! This will prove to you she holds humanity. She is you after all Light Goddess. Her soul is a piece of you."
Seraphina turned and rubbed what must have been the bridge of her nose. "If the Gods ever find that you did this, you will die. And when they kill you they will kill her next." Hades pulled himself up with a determined expression. "As long as she is happy and alive, I will not care about the moment the Gods find me and end my existence. I want her to live. I want my creation to feel joy!" Seraphina closed her eyes and sighed. "You must know I don't condone this idea of yours, Bringer. But, I trust you. We are after all old friends. The Gods gave me their gift long ago, but it's time for me to move on and pass my power to a new host." Hades and Seraphina stood face to face again. Seraphina grinned, pulling Hades in for a hug. "I will seal Zelroath and will make sure the Gods are diverted by it long enough for you to take her. Give her a home made of light, protect and watch over her closely." Hades nodded, returning the hug. "Of course I will. She will know me as her Guardian Angel."
The world was tilting from the memories before I became human. Daniel's words echoed over and over in my thoughts.
"One way or another, you will remember. And when you do, I'll have no choice but to put a stop to you."
"And when you do, I'll have no choice but to stop you."
"I'll have no choice but to stop you. No choice but to stop you. No choice...no choice...but to stop you."
"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!" My voice pierced the empty world as my heart clenched in so much pain from the memory of my past showing itself. Why? Why now of all the time in my life now is when I start to remember my past? I started to cry, the thought of Daniel 'stopping' me made my body go cold. If I continue to remember my former self, I will be killed. How can I even stop this though? What even is Daniel...he can't be someone that works for the Gods. If he is...he knows who I am. He knows what I am! "No...no no no!" I collapsed to my knees and hyperventilated about the situation. "He knows. Daniel knows and he is going to tell the Gods so they can kill me..." What felt like a rock suddenly formed in my stomach, I held my abdomen with an uncontrollable shake coming over me. "Stop it! Just stop it all!" I cried holding myself as the void was growing smaller. I was terrified to wake up, I grew afraid if I awaken it would only inflict more pain on me. "Please, don't do this..."
"Love." Hades's voice echoed turning my attention. He was here, his long ponytail still beautiful when I first met him. He didn't have his cane, but his hands were still covered by his white gloves. The lavender eyes were dull, almost grey. I stood up marching to him. "How could you do this to me Hades! Why did you keep it a secret that you...you're my..." Hades head hung low. "That I am your Creator?" The Bringer finished my question never looking at my face. I held my chest with my heart nearly breaking apart. "Why did you not want me to be the Dark One...it's not only because I held a soul! Tell me why you really wanted me like this!" My chest heaved in agony when I pushed Hades. "ANSWER ME!"
"It was because I couldn't watch you go insane. I couldn't watch you be killed by another Light Goddess! It was because I cared about you! I still care about your wellbeing!" I pointed to myself. "YOU MADE ME A MONSTER!!!" Hades grabbed my shoulder. "I CAN'T LOSE YOU LUCY!" Hades screamed shaking me violently. I pushed Hades away roughly. "You gave me something I was never supposed to have in the first place, Hades! You gave me a life I was never even meant to receive!" Hades clenched and bit his lower lip. Hades then pulled me into a tight hug. "I couldn't let you become a monster, because you gave me something I never could understand until you shed your first tears.." I stood stiff like a statue not replying to him. Hades caressed the back of my scalp. "You gave me humanity. You gave me emotions the second I witnessed you cried out of sadness. It was then I knew I wanted to be feel how humans did. It was then I realized..." Hades drifted away from finishing his sentence, but my heart was put to a halt from what Hades was telling me. It was because of my soul, that Hades felt his heart begin to beat. Hades didn't only save me, but I saved him too...
"Hades..." I gently said, eventually hugging him back. "I still don't understand. Why would you do it Hades? Why did you save me?" Hades put both of his hands on my face and leaned to where our foreheads touched. I inhaled sharply, catching sight of Hades look at my lips, then his eyes drifted to mine. "I did it because I love you, Lucy." Hades whispered wrapping his arm around my waist. For a moment I felt solace and warmth wrapping around my heart. I placed a hand on Hades's shoulder, succumbing to Hades and his beautiful eyes. Until a flash of salmon-colored hair came to thought. Onyx eyes peering into mine with his childish grin on his face. The sound of his voice almost making me want to melt. How could I almost forget about my soulmate? How did I nearly betray Natsu's trust!?
"No." I shook my head quickly taking my hand off my Guardian Angel. "Hades...I can't. I have a soulmate waiting for me to wake up." Hades, that was almost close to reaching my lips, stopped. Closing his eyes as if he was in torment, he then released me and took a couple of steps back. "Yes. Yes, of course, how could I have forgotten? I'm so sorry." My heart became torn when tears fell his cheeks as he showed me a broken smile. "I do not care if you are in love with someone else Lucy. I will always, ever since I created you, love you eternally."
It was too much for my heart to bear. I deeply loved Hades, I always have since I first met him. But my heart belonged to Natsu. "I'm sorry Hades." I whirled and soon moved to walk away, needing to find a way out. "Love!" Hades blurted, but I only continued. "Love please don't leave!" His voice pleaded, and soon I was now running. "Please, Lucy I don't want to be alone again! Please Love don't go!" Tears streamed down my face from his words, but I was already in love. I cannot give him something I had already given. "I'm so sorry!" I sobbed now only to hear his heartbroken sobs.
"Please Lucy-san! Please wake up!" Wendy! I followed her voice with my muscles being sore and heart racing out of my chest. "Wendy!" I hollered running even faster. In the distance, I saw a beautiful light. I extended my hand out. "WENDY!" I was a step away and then touched the light. I felt my powers sear in my skin and recovered so fast I screamed in agony from the pain, but my only thought was to hope Hades wouldn't catch me. In the light, I fell to my knees and wailed until I could only see white.
~~~
The first thing I felt was a curling gasp escape my lungs just as I saw Wendy hovering over me. Her eyes were frightened until I watched her relax. "Lucy-san!" She cried, hugging me even though I was still lying down. I slung only one arm around her from the amount of exhaustion in me. "What happened?" I asked my throat very dry for me to even talk. Wendy rubbed her eyes and looked to the ground. "I couldn't feel your magic, Lucy. You were becoming pale and sick from not having your powers be at their normal levels, and I couldn't do anything but watch." I rubbed my throat, sitting up with her. "But then, you began to glow, but you were hurting because of it. You started to thrash and scream and I had to make sure you weren't going to hurt yourself physically or the others."
Wendy grabbed her wrists tenderly, still looking away from me. "D-Did I do that?" I asked when she said nothing back. "It's okay Lucy. You were only clasping my wrists too harshly, but they don't hurt that bad." The Sky Maiden smiled using her sleeves to hide what were bruises. I sat on my knees. "Wendy, I'm so sorry." Wendy only shook her head. "Don't be apologizing Lucy-san, you're awake and now you can help our friends!" It wasn't until she finished speaking that I could hear a battle going on. I got on my feet and went around the large stone with most of my friends in action. Levy as the Dark Knight, Mira in Sitri From, Gwen battling alongside Natsu with a man that held two scythes.
"Minna..." I whispered when Wendy came next to me. "It's time we help them Lucy-san!" Wendy said with determination in the eyes. I looked down for a moment, then nodded in agreement. 'I can never tell them about my memories. If they get hurt because of me...I will never forgive myself. This is my problem, and mine alone.'
I summoned my wings to reveal myself. My Goddess Sword appeared in my right hand while my left arm showed the blood of the Dark One. I flew high in the air allowing my wings to be seen with my scars. "Enough!" I announced gaining everyone's attention. My comrades looked relieved, with Natsu having the biggest smile I haven't seen in a long time. "Lucy!" He yelled as the other side seemed more distressed. "The target is awake now Captain!" A pink girl said to nervous to even keep her eyes on me. "That's right, I am awake." My Dark One voice announced to intimidate my enemies. I closed my eyes for a moment, then opened them again to see the Dark One irises. "Let's begin. Shall we?"
