~Lucy~

Natsu and I were back home getting ready for bed after the hours of this hectic day. Happy decided to stay the night with Lily to hang out together, so it was only me and Natsu. Gwen was at an inn close by so she can come to wake me up tomorrow morning.

Natsu wasn't talking, he didn't even want to eat dinner with me. I was already in bed reading when Natsu stepped out of the bathroom from his shower. He was in short night pants and was shirtless, while he was drying his hair with a towel. I put my book down. "Are you hungry?" I asked putting the book on the bedside table. "You haven't eaten when we left the guild hall. That was five hours ago."

"I'm fine." He muttered when he threw the towel in a basket full of dirty clothes. Natsu never glanced at me when he crawled in the bed turning away from me. "Night." He mumbled not peeping another word. I sat up moving closer to him. "Natsu I need to do this. You know what this means to me." I wrapped my arms around his back as I inhaled the gentle cologne I got for him as a present. I can't believe he wears the cologne. I didn't think he would wear it because of his sensitive nose. "Lucy something bad is going to happen. I have no idea where you'll be, and if this girl is up to no good then I won't be able to save you."

I gave small kisses on Natsu's shoulder, knowing that would melt his cold heart a little. "But you have to think, if I don't learn how to control the Balance, then you're in danger just as everyone else is. I'm still dangerous until I can control my emotions." Natsu turned around, his eyes petrifying me.

He was angry...

"I hate it when you talk like that. Calling yourself a monster and telling us that you're dangerous! You're not an animal Luce! You're a human being just like me and everyone else. Why can't you see that you're a beautiful person?" Natsu caressed my cheek when his eyes became sad. I always hated it when he can make puppy eyes, that way he always won whenever we argued about stupid stuff, especially about how much groceries we actually needed.

Natsu sat up pulling me into his chest, the sound of his heartbeat was a rhythm I could never get tired of hearing. It was a soothing melody that helped me sleep when I came back home after spending two weeks in the infirmary. His heartbeat still helps me sleep. "Natsu...I'm a Half Soul. The feelings you feel for me, I can barely express to you right now. I only remember this emotion I have towards you is because of my memories before my soul was ripped apart. If I can learn to control, then it's possible I can feel without being afraid to go berserk. I'm doing this not only for me but for you and Fairy Tail. You could get the old me back. Isn't that what you desire? The old me?" My head fell landing on Natsu's hard chest. The numbness in my stomach stretched throughout my body giving a cold feeling in me.

'Control...'

"Lucy, my desire is to only be with you. To protect you and make you the happiest girl alive. I don't care if you're a Half Soul or the old Lucy Heartfilia." Natsu pulled my face to see his, showing a lopsided smile that gave me comfort. "The only desire I have is to never lose you again. Nothing else matters, but we're a team too. We have Happy, Erza, Wendy, and the Ice Freak to help us. We have Fairy Tail to help you also with your situation. No matter what you do, you'll still be a Fairy Tail wizard. You will always be Lucy Heartfilia of Fairy Tail." Natsu leaned placing a soft kiss on my lips, I felt sparks flying everywhere in me. It made my blood boil to the point I felt I was on fire, but I wanted more.

I snaked my arms around him again deepening the kiss with a strong force. It felt like hours of nothing but kissing. And that's what we did, we kissed each other the night away. Natsu always found a way to take the numbness away, and that's one more thing that I love about him.

"Yo! Lucy, it's time to get up!" My eyes groggily opened when I saw Natsu sleeping as well. My head was lying on his chest while Natsu was holding me with his strong arms, our legs were tangled together. I fought against Natsu's grip when I eventually got up to open the door. The first thing I saw was Gwen with her hood down already marching inside. "Are you all ready and packed?" She asked placing herself in a chair that was by the table. "Does it look like I am? Good morning to you too." I snapped back sitting beside her while I rubbed my eyes. Gwen snickered.

"I like your fish printed pajamas." She complimented when I stared down at what I was wearing. Happy and Natsu gave this to me as a joke thinking I would never actually wear it, but it's one of my favorite nighties. "Gwen, instead of making fun of my pj's, just start helping me pack." I got up walking to the bed to give Natsu a small kiss on his forehead. His sleeping face was always peaceful, like a baby napping in his crib.

"It seems he likes that." Gwen whispered when she was beside me smirking. The Dragon Slayer winked at me when I realized that Natsu was shirtless in front of her. I immediately covered him feeling my face heat up. "We didn't...we...you're sick!" I muttered going towards my dresser to pack my clothes. Gwen was having a hard time holding her laughs in when she inhaled a large amount of air. She kept doing this until I was already halfway done with my bags. "I'm sorry, but for a Half Soul your face was hilarious."

I stopped packing for a split second, then continued. "My Guardian believes the reason why I can still feel at certain moments, is because I'm part human. It sounds foolish doesn't it?" I was about to finish my last bag when Gwen put her hand on my shoulder. I veered around to face her smiling. "Not at all! In fact, I believe your Guardian may be onto something."

Gwen gave me another wink before moving to the door after picking up my first bag. "I'll give you a minute between you and your Dragon, but then we gotta go!" Gwen shut the door behind her after she finished talking. I zipped my second bag and threw it over my shoulder, then I moved back to the bed.

I kneeled to his face, poking his shoulder. "Natsu." I softly murmured. I moved my poking finger up to his cheek. "Natsu." I said again, slowly getting him to wake up. Natsu opened his eyes as slow as a snail. "Luce?" He called out brushing his eyes. I stood back up to sit on the bed. "I'm about to leave. Make sure the team trains hard okay? I'll see you before you guys make it to Crocus." Natsu finally sat up, then pulled me into a hug. His face hid in the crook of my neck as he gave a small nod. "Be careful. If anything happens, come back to Fairy Tail."

I grazed his scalp with my nails, then placed a kiss on his temple. "I'll be back, and when you see me I'll show you how happy I am." We both got up from the bed when Natsu pulled me into a real hug. "I love you Lucy." Natsu whispered. I pulled him tighter in the hug. "I love you also Natsu."

We separated from our hold. Natsu scanned me and chuckled a moment later. "Are you going like that?" I glanced down still seeing I was in my pajamas. "We shouldn't be going out in public. I want to sleep a little more before we begin training." Natsu finished laughing and showed me a genuine smile. I glanced away blushing for mere seconds until I shook my head. Finally, I moved away to go through the exit. Natsu never moved from his spot, he only watched me when I opened the door. I turned back one more time and blew him a kiss. "Just in case you need it. Okay?" Natsu caught my invisible kiss and put it in his imaginary pocket. "Just in case."

I waved a good bye to him, and closed the door.
