"Why are we getting on a train? I thought you were taking us to the Fifth Realm?" I was uncomfortable because of still wearing my pajamas. Gwen gave me a sweater, but you could still see my shorts showing blue fish letting out small bubbles from its mouth. I thought we were going straight into the Realm. Because if we did then I would've gotten more sleep, that's why I didn't change. Gwen snickered as she sat on the opposite side of me. It made me wonder about something, how is she immune to the transportation sickness that all Dragon Slayers suffer with.
I covered my lap with my bag staring at the scenery. "I need to get some supplies before we go to the Realm and keep your voice down when talking about the Fifth Realm. You have no idea how many wizards want to find it." I took my gaze away from the window. "I have questions."
"Shoot." Gwen replied lying down on the booth to get comfortable. "You said you're a Dragon Slayer," Gwen nodded. "how come you're not having any motion sickness?" Gwen sighed, thinking about my question. "I honestly didn't know about Dragon Slayers having motion sickness. I thought it was a joke!" Gwen giggled under her breath. "I would have to say it's because of their diet."
"Their diet?" Gwen got up leaning over as she put her elbows on her knees. Gwen was very short like she made it to teenage years short, but she gave this vibe off her. She seemed much wiser than her looks have off. I mean with her shredded black leggings, ankle black boots, and a white blouse that was a little too big on her, she looked like a teenager that showed trouble. "Dragon Slayers need to eat their elements in order to make their magic stronger in case they were in battle. Well for some Dragon Slayers, or all Dragon Slayers apparently, their stomach is basically an iron pot that's not supposed to be moving continuously. If their stomach keeps moving then it becomes harder to hold in their element of food. Whereas me, I don't have an element to eat."
Gwen leaned back, already lying down again. I never thought of it that way. I mean Dragon Slayers' stomachs hold a lot for them to be able to fight better. It holds their element, and if it moves way to much then it becomes too hard to hold it. Wow. "You don't have an element? Then that means you're not a Dragon Slayer?"
"It's different for me. I don't have to eat much, I don't use the powers of the Dragon Slayers. But, I'm faster, stronger, my senses are quicker than theirs. Physically, it would be hard for me to fight all of them, but mentally, I got them in the bag." I grew hooked about Gwen's magic. I wanted to know what her Dragon was. "What do you mean?"
"What I mean by mentally, I mean to a spiritual point. It takes a lot of concentration, but once you get the hang of it, you might as well call yourself the greatest Dragon Slayer." Another question came to me. "How come no other being has ever made it to the Realm?" Gwen's eyes glanced over to me. I had a staredown to those foggy blue eyes. "Your irises are changing. They're gold now."
My heart dropped for a second, but I remained my composure. I quickly put my hands over my eyes and put my head down to make sure no one else saw. "Answer my question." I'll have to get linen cloth, I forgot to pack some to cover my eyes. "Fine, fine! But I want to ask you something." Gwen slapped my knee, but I didn't pick my head up to face her. "What?"
"What do you think the Fifth Realm is even for? What's the meaning of its existence?" Oh... I never thought about it. I know some basic summaries from ancient books in Aria, but no one knows why the Fifth Realm exists. Hell, no one other than Gwen has actually been there. "Can't answer, can you?" I shook my head. "I got nothing."
Gwen laughed warmheartedly. "I thought so. My father won't tell me why either, only that the Realm is hiding something. Something big if you ask me, because every time I asked my old man, he would only tell me the same thing: 'Hatchling when the time is right the Realm will awaken from its long slumber'. I still don't know what he's talking about."
I picked my head up, Gwen was now facing outside the window. Her hand was fiddling with a strand of her white hair. "Maybe he's trying to say it's not the Realm, but something else." Gwen shrugged. "I'm not sure, but I'll never know until it's time."
The train came to a slow stop, I didn't realize it was late afternoon. The train reached a close, then opened their doors allowing the passengers to leave. I took another glance outside, facing a city made of light. Large orbs circled the city as humongous statues of strange sculptures also circled the city. The light that emitted was green. There was so much green... Gwen grabbed our luggage when I grabbed my small bag.
"Welcome to Evergreen Gardens Lucy. The city of nature, largest trademarks for herbs, medicine, and trees of course. Everything here is reused and recycled. Nothing is wasted and all the trees are protected by the statues that circle this city. It's the fourth largest city in Fiore, but it is also very hard to find unless you catch the train at the right time." Gwen walked through the paved walkways.
I was astonished by the gorgeous view, everything here was fresh, even the air seemed better for some reason. I couldn't comprehend how long this took to perfect. "Come on slow poke! Let's get some lunch, shop for supplies and head to train!" Gwen waved for me to come to her.
I'm in pj's, a grey sweater, and also forgot to bring jewels, but nothing could have fascinated me to see what this city held. I made a small smile, before running to Gwen at full speed. "Wait for me!"
