Fear is Her Greatest Weakness

~Lucy~

I witnessed the premonitions appear before me again. The dark, damp cave as I urged my guildmates to keep moving, though I was weary myself. I witnessed the person I care for vanquishing in the radiant light, the hands that felt like talons. The hands that remind me of Natsu.

I tried to uncover where I was, I screamed for anyone to hear me. The only answer I was given was silence. "Help!" I begged, running what seemed like an eternity. My lungs burned, my muscles sore to the core. I hesitantly came to a halt as I heard voices in the distance. "Don't worry my little one, you'll be safe. The Gods will never harm you after the Light Goddess has completed her task."

"...Hades?" I murmured, taking small steps to see in the dark fog Hades hunching over something. "They won't hurt you, I'll keep you safe. My little one, you will have a name, a family, emotions." Hades began to sob. "My creation, why? Why did they make me do this!" The Bringer wept, his body shaking. I made my way to him, seeing that he was holding something in his arms. It wasn't a human, but what looked like clay that took the shape of a baby. There were no special features about it, only limbs and the basic features of a sleeping face. Hades's tears fell on the clay, staining the object's cheek.

"You will be safe from them. The Gods will be tricked, they will not find you!" Hades picked up the object, as it started to change from clay, into flesh. The object turned into living flesh as it held Hades tightly. The clay was now an alive baby, napping peacefully in his arms. "My little one, know that I will forever watch over you. My creation, the Gods will not take you away from me." Hades gave the child a small kiss on its head, before whirling around and sprinting off with the child.

I was puzzled, not knowing if this was a dream or a premonition.

"Lucy..." I turned around, seeing my parents, my exceed. "Mom." I gasped about to take a step forward. My family was set on fire that was the color of snow. They were being burned alive. "No!" I ran trying to grab a hold of them when the fire burned my arm inside out. "Lucy...forgive us." It was all I could hear of my mother before the fire ate them whole. "NO!" All I could do was scream before the fire took me next.

~~~
My body was already panicked and awake before I knew I even opened my eyes. The covers were tangled around my legs, cold sweat trailed down my neck and face. I went to wipe the sweat until I noticed tears. "Wh-why am I crying?" I fought against the covers to stand up when I noticed I was in my room with medical supplies around me. There was even a monitor that checked my magical levels, which made me uncomfortable. I went over to the vanity to look into the mirror, to see someone else. I didn't see Lucy Heartfilia, one of my eyes was gold as the other was my red iris and black cornea eye. I saw bandages wrap around my entire chest to my hips, my back feeling a subtle sense of pain. I was thin, pale, to sickly to actually feel ill. "What happened to me!?"
I felt my head become dizzy, which quickly made me sit down before I fell over and caused another scene. Why am I in my room, what happened at the games? I took a glance at my eyes once again, then relived what happened today. I almost killed a person, no, an entire stadium because I couldn't control myself. My fists became white, terror eating me inside out. "No, no, no, no." I put my hand over my face, wanting to cover the volume of my weeping.
"It's all your fault."
My head snapped up to see nothing. I stood up, hoping to keep myself calm. "Who's there!"
"It's only us, Lucy. We are the reason you see yourself as a monster. We are the reason you can overthrow the Gods."
My stomach fell. "The Light and Darkness," I muttered, feeling something gawking me. "You need to leave Lucy. Fairy Tail is terrified of you. They witnessed your true strength. We must escape before we're all killed." I tched at the voices, glancing over every corner and place that held a shadow over it. "How do I know you're not lying?" I questioned, the voices whispering loudly. "Listen for yourself..." my eyes went to the door as my feet were already creeping over for me to slightly open it. I cracked the door open, putting my ear out to hear my nakamas.
"I'm not sure we can protect Lucy anymore. You saw what she did out there! Her power is beyond anything we've ever seen!" Without even worrying if I was heard or not I closed the door shut when my hand covering my mouth in horror. "There isn't much time. You must leave, go West of Crocus where we shall open a portal for you. They will hear us if we open a gateway right now."
The tears of blood came down my face. I nodded in agreement with the voices. "West?" I asked going to the window to unlock it. "Yes, and you mustn't fly. You will be seen. Grab your cloak, stay close to the shadows." I turned and swiftly opened my closet to grab my cloak. With a quick snap, I put the hoodie over my head, then slowly climbed out of the window for me to jump down from. "Where will I go?"
"Faraway from them. Do not look back." The voice asserted. All I could think was that Fairy Tail no longer wanted me. I am truly alone, so now I must run away before I hurt anyone else. "I won't look back." I said, at last, skidding down into the streets and ran where the darkness hid me.
Natsu
"What do you mean Natsu? Of course, we can protect Lucy! She's our family and your girlfriend too!" I shook my head, trying to explain more thoroughly. "That's not what I meant. What I mean is, are we even strong enough to protect her? When Lucy wakes up, she's going to be filled with guilt. Lucy's going to blame herself and possibly turn herself in. Gwen and I saw the First Council sitting in the box, enjoying the show Lucy gave." Gwen got up from leaning on the table. "It's already settled. When Lucy wakes up we'll just try to calm her down and remind her that is isn't her fault. We must remember her powers are based on her emotions, so we can't let her get upset as she already will be. Look, we all care about Lucy, and I don't care even with all our power together, Lucy could still step on us like ants. But she would never do that. Lucy only wants to be normal!"
Everyone agreed sitting back down when Levy came up to me. "I'm going to check on Lu-chan. Maybe she's awake now." Levy left going up the stairs a moment later. Gwen sat next to me, sitting like how I would in a chair. "For a second you scared everyone to death when you said that about Lucy. I thought I was gonna have to knock your teeth in!" Gwen punched my shoulder, as I shoved her back playfully. Gwen was about to push me off my stool until we heard a shriek upstairs. Gajeel was already on his feet. "Shrimp!?"
"Guys," Levy shouted above the second floor when she appeared from the room. "Lucy's gone!" My stomach twisted with pain so quickly I nearly fell to my knees. I was already moving up the stairs and into her room.
The window was open, her closet door squeaking from the wind entering the room. I ran past Levy to look outside her window and into the sky. No sign of Lucy. "Dammit!" My fist pounded against the counter of the window. I turned back to go back to my nakamas. "We have to find her." I decreed with some people already grouping up and leaving. Though it was almost passed curfew, we weren't ready for Lucy to get away so easily. "Children" Gramps's bombard voice exclaimed halting us in our track. "Stay out of sight if you see any Crocus guards. They will arrest if they discover you." My team nodded, all of us including Gwen hurried out of the inn to go find Luce.
"Don't worry Natsu! She's going to be fine." My heart told me something else, something that didn't feel so promising in my skin. I gritted my teeth, jumping on a building to reach the roof. My eyes scanned the sky with no sight of any angel wings or any silhouette of a person. "Lucy isn't flying," I mumbled jumping back down to the streets. "We have to spread out, she's leaving on foot." Erza nodded as Wendy went ahead to look for Lucy. Gray went right with Erza, as I went left with Gwen. "Happy, Carla!" The exceeds that were flying looked down at me. "Fly above the city. I may be wrong if Lucy is flying or not, but you'll be able to see more if you're in the air!"
"Aye sir!" Happy flew above with Carla following him. Gwen and I took one glance at each other, then ran together to go find Lucy.
I hid with the shadows, clutching myself with the black cloak being my shelter. "Keep moving." The voice demanded, forcing me to continue on. "Where are we going?" I implored, staying West as the voices told me so. "You will find a large, closed gate. There you will wait." The voices answered back, like a snake. I obeyed the voices, still staying close to the walls of houses and shops. By now Fairy Tail will know I've fled and they will try to find me. 'I can't let them find me.' I thought to myself, stealthy keeping up with the shadows that veiled me in total darkness. "There!" The voices yelled in my head, making me abruptly stop from the stinging pain they gave me. "Keep moving."
"What if someone sees me?" I faltered in step from stepping out of the dark, but the voices were now screaming. "Move! Go! Stop asking questions and do it! Do you want to be found?! Do you want them to repulse at the sight of you?!" My hands went over my head, the screaming becoming louder and louder. "Stop it!" I bawled until I felt myself yanking my hair to ease the pain. Tears threatened to fall, but I didn't allow them to. I took a step, gradually wandering to what was actually a gate. The gate could've been larger than the castle with many symbols and a rune in the center. I made my way to touch the gate when a voice out of nowhere spoke.
"I wouldn't touch it if I were you." My body snapped around to see Daniel standing alone. My skin grew chills, knowing he wasn't there a second ago. "What do you want?" I said, watching him make his way closer. "I wanted to see you, but after your little meltdown earlier today, I didn't think your guild would prefer to see me."
"But my magic is what bought me here." Daniel smiled, his eyes sharply looking into mine. "Are you talking about these voices?" His grinned, knowing he tricked me. "How did you know about the voices? I haven't told anyone about them!" My voice quivered in fear when he was now less than a foot away from me. "Lucy," He began saying as he caressed my hair. "you truly are special. I must wonder, how you made it here. I can only imagine the torture you are put through by the Balance." Daniel strolled around me, then pulled me into his chest with his arms encircling around me. "Was it that Bringer that brought you here?" He whispered, squeezing me tightly. I wanted to gasp, not because Daniel was crushing me to where he'll snap my ribs, but that he knows about the Hades.
Hades doesn't let people see him all the time! If Daniel can see him, and if he knows about the Balance and the voices taunting me, then what else does he know?! 'I have to protect Hades. Daniel isn't normal, he knows too much for someone in the Council!' I glanced the other way from Daniel's face. "I don't know what you're talking about." I lied while struggling to break free from his grasp. 'This isn't right! I'm stronger than any human on EarthLand! Why am I struggling to free myself?' Daniel laid his lips on my ear. I stopped moving from how close he was. "I don't like being lied to Lucy. There's so much you don't understand what's happening around you. If only you would just tell me the truth then this can be easy for both of us." Daniel growled, gripping tighter. A smirk appeared on my face. "I have no idea what you mean." As long as I tried to keep Hades out of this, then I was more than happy to play this little game. The First Council was still for a moment until he sighed. "So be it, the hard way it is then." All of a sudden Daniel began to drag me. "Let go of me!" I screamed thrashing around to make it more difficult. "You bastard let me go!"
"It could've been so simple my dear. Now you must come with me and face punishment." With ease, Daniel picked me up from the ground. I kicked my feet out landing hits on the First Council, but he seemed unscathed by it. "Sweet dreams." He said when I was thrown at the gate. I hit back first onto the metal gate and I felt all my magic being sucked lit of me. I swore I was screaming, but I couldn't even tell from the high pitch ringing in my ears. There was a dim light in my vision, but just as I had seen it the light had left. I fell to my knees in weariness. This feeling was unreal to me! It's been ages since I've felt this depleted from such magic lose. Before I fell down on my face, Daniel swooped me up in his arms. My Celestial keys slipped from my belt and the cloak I was wearing skimmed off of me. I was left with only my pajamas. "Finally," Daniel announced, his voice fading away. "I've found you." my eyes rolled back, and I was gone.
Lucy fell into a deep sleep as my arms held her up bridal style. My gaze rolled down to look at her face, then to her arms that were lifeless. A grin stretched across my face. "Now then, let us be off." I began to walk back to the castle. It was too easy to trick her because of so much power in a being like her. She would believe in anything when a creature like her becomes desperate. My thoughts wandered elsewhere when I heard a hateful scream behind me. I peered behind to see the Fire Dragon Slayer and the silver-haired girl at his side. The Fire Mage came running at me with his fist ignited above him. I only laughed when an invisible barrier interrupted the Dragon Slayer from stopping me.
I put the barrier up. It was enticing to watch the Fire Mage screamed his heart out, punching the barrier viciously to pass through. The girl beside him attempted to stop the Fire Mage from injuring himself. "Natsu stop it's not working!" I fully turned my body to face the two, then took my time to reach the barrier for the Mage to see his lover in my arms. "Let her go you bastard!" The Fire Mage demand displaying his fangs as well as his fury. I tilted my head still grinning at how it amuses me to watch him fail. My eyes glanced down to Lucy's face again, her expression peaceful, not knowing her soulmate was only a few steps away. 'This will certainly be enjoying to watch.'
Without hesitation, I leaned and placed a kiss on Lucy's lips. I could hear a mighty Dragon's outcry at the sight, but it wasn't enough to pass my barrier. My head came back up to witness now both partners fighting to get through. "You sick son of a bitch!" The girl cursed bashing her fists onto the barrier. The boy became what looked like half-dragon, whereas the girl hued a white colored aura. "Give Lucy back to us!"
"You will never have her. She was mine, to begin with." I turned away from them, sauntering with the sound of them screaming. "Come back you bastard! Come back and face me!" The Fire Mage screamed, but I did not reply. "LUCY!!!" I walked away until I was out of sight.
