What you, my dear reader, have to encountered is merely one facet of a larger knowledge reclamation and acquisition project. We dragons have been on this world longer than any other race, yet we find ourselves at the same technological level as them. Furthermore, much of our historical records only go back roughly two thousand years despite many discoveries of temples and artifacts of dragon origin dating back tens of thousands of years into the past. While my team and I have worked tirelessly to translate as many of the older texts as possible, we have had varying degrees of success. Our ancient ancestors seemed to have enjoyed a life similar to our own, yet far beyond our comprehension. For simplicity, I have divided the major time scales between four main categories: The First Days (F.D), before the Great War (B.W),  the Great War (G.W), and after the Great War (A.W). What you have read was an account of our more enlightened ancestors; however due to the intellectual, cultural, and lingual differences between us and them, a brief intermission was deemed necessary by my fellow researchers. The following passages are closer to our own experiences than to these Ancient Dragons, thus making the rest of the collection more comprehensible.
