The Age of Reptiles
The Creation
Time Immemorial
Jāth Yōndrelk Thātronchān (The World Hatches)
Fire and dust, the world is born
Painful hatch, out of the Goddess' scorn
In the sky, sea, and ground
No life is found
A young world lives
Surrounded by those who give
Each sister born of fire
Has lands filled with liars
Our star, our dear star,
You are never too far.
The mother of our system
The eyes of our Goddess and Her wisdom
Homeworld, sweet homeworld,
Created all with Her mind and word
With the corpses of old stars
Even you Jānthar
The great band in the sky
Is proof our Goddess didn't lie.
The ruins of broken moons
Created a beauty in their doom
And out of the doom and strange creatures,
Who share many of our features,
A new order was made
Hopefully our race will never fade
Dragon Ancestors
Time Immemorial
Eizurrelk Shynkeig (Dragons of Old)
A time so strange,
Different beasts walked the land.
It was a different age,
With violence of another brand.
Large reptiles ruled.
When our ancestors lived in peace,
Before the world cooled.
Creatures of fur and warm blood
Stuck to the shadows.
They would go to the light if they could,
But like young fish, they stayed in the shallows.
They were weak.
We were strong.
They were meek.
Raptors and their kin
Took to the skies
While our cousins grew fins
All before we could say "hi."
The reptiles held the air, land, and sea.
We were on top
As modern dragons came to be.
However, all good must stop.
We didn't know.
We couldn't know.
We didn't know how to know.
From under us,
Came the end of us.
It lay in the shadows.
First Mammals
Time Immemorial
Thetōrrelk Untrryn (Our Mistake)
The Age of Reptiles
Gave birth to those who defile
Our Goddess and children
Warm blooded heathens
Written in stone
Written in bone
The ancestors of the "Jukenue"
They should've never been anyways
They scurried
As if they needed to hurry
They were active at night
Avoiding the light
Born of disease and greed
It was a joy seeing their descendants bleed.
They ate eggs and the dead
Because they can't kill to be fed
Yet they lived with our ancestors before the Great War.
When nothing thought.
When nothing fought.
If only we knew,
Of the trouble they would brew
When they diversified.
Then no hatchlings would be terrified.
The Impact
-1,000 F.D
E'ōjreen daz Tagelk (Fire from the Goddess)
A fire blazes across the sky
The end is nigh
It's time to say goodbye
No escape, no matter how high we fly
The Age of Reptiles is over
Oh dear Mother, Mother, Mother
Is our time over?
A flash of light
Off to the right
Illuminates the night
There is no flight
The Age of Reptiles is over
Oh Mother, Mother, Mother
Is our time over?
A wall of fire
Try to fly higher
Don't tire
Fly higher.
The Age is over
Mother, Mother, Mother
Is our time over?
The corpses cover the land
The fire, a brand
The destruction so grand
It even pierces the Great Band
Mother, Mother, dear Mother
Is my time over?
Why? Why Mother, my dear Creator?
