Part 1- The Gate

The Dormant Chronicles

Part 1- The Gate

By:Joshua Bell

Ding! That word rang through Beverly and James's heads. It was 4 o'clock when it happened. The man in black, head-to-toe had a blank expression and a stick, a metal stick. He struck Beverly and James leaving them in Basilica, the old gated community that had became legend after closing two months after opening.

Two hours later, James woke up just as the sun went down. He woke up Beverly minutes after the gate shut leaving them trapped in Basilica. Beverly tried to pick the lock while James checked the guards cabin to find a mini flashlight. But unsurprisingly, Beverly snatched it and started to check the area for paperclips. " Come on Beverly, we have to check everywhere for a key, or better yet a way out."

She reluctantly handed over the flashlight but said, " You are going first, James."

They walked through the unkept, nasty front circle and into the first house to the left. A ghost intervened and crept quietly behind them... "Ooohhh!"

They both screamed. However rustling in the bushes start.ed them even further when a mummy hopped out. "Hello... My... Name... Is... Roger................ Roger as quickly as he came, disappeared as quick as he came. James, undeterred marched into the house only to find a chair, being brave Beverly walked to the chair to find a small scraped and torn, old and mangled with few words saying: "It has happened, there is not much time left..." Beverly found herself in a difficult situation, she could take refuge in a house or find a way out. James however walked out of the house carefully to not arouse dust. James has an extreme dust allergy. Beverly followed closely behind to see a candy bowl on the counter in the kitchen. Not looking back on it she walked out with James who was already going on the unkept, overgrown sidewalk. They crept quietly and ducked and quivered as flashes of light and odd sounds were all about. Eventually they reached they accused place of haunting, Fuller's Films, the old movie house Basilica tried to demolish but was unsuccessful. The duo reached the theater at 8 o'clock P.M and the Basilica Clock Tower sounded promptly, but James rushed into the movie house and immediately ran out screaming, "GHOST!!"

The pair walked into the theater unprepared for the onslaught to come next. Ghosts lurked in every inch of carpet walking, floating, and every other mean of travel, and were attacking one another, fighting brutally everywhere you looked. Men and Women, boys and girls, cats and dogs were all rushing about. Beverly and James were unnoticed until a man with a thick British accent yelled, "Humans!"

Chaos ensued after as all ghosts that flew, fell to the floor, solidifying into nasty zombies that started to close in on them. They had one option and that was to RUN!

They tried to run but were quickly stopped by the ghosts who had barred the door, there was nothing they could do, but with a flash of light, Roger appeared and with all of his effort he could not hold them off for very long. POP! SNAP! WHOOSH!

Beverly and James woke up on a stone floor with a headache. In a daze the two stood up in a room enlightened by a lamp. The air was cold and damp as they stood up in a daze confused as a man with a thick German accent said, "Who are you!"

The man's name is Roger. Beverly marched out of the room, confused and asked for an explanation. It was the year 1867, they began to charge out of the room but it was a maze of small, quiet stone rooms. Beverly started to cry when the German man came back, mad. He started barking at them like a dog barking at a tree. He began to scream when another man, this time with a small crown stopped him. He then whispered to him, but it was inaudible to Beverly and James. The man then walked out of the room, Roger said to them quietly "The people of Germany need your help, we are losing the war."

James was confused and Beverly continued crying. It looked hopeless to Roger but he still tried to encourage them. It failed miserably, but then James had a flicker of courage and then he told Roger quietly, "I think I can do it."

Then James walked out of the room, and Beverly followed quietly, mourning the year 2015. Beverly moped until they reached a small cabin home where twenty men with crowns in varying sizes, some the size of peanuts others beach balls. They were having small talk, you overheard some very strange things like a person's favorite kind of cheese... Then the man at the head of the table spoke saying, "Order!, the meeting will now commence."

Beverly and James were then called up to the man, where they were interrogated over a multitude of topics including the year they were born. The man and other men around him were astonished and soon talked urgently to one another. Then a fire, ferocious and wild fire tore through the building put just at that moment Beverly was pinned by chandelier that fell unto her. James, who was stronger than he looked tore the chandelier off of Beverly, and they both bolted out of the cabin. They soon found themselves in a heap of trouble, as it became apparent that a thick and dark fog, covered the ground. They could see two paths, but they looked identical. Instinct told James to head to the left, but Beverly grabbed him by the arm and whispered quietly to him saying, "Please James, I think I know which way to go, but listen!"

James was having none of it, and marched to the left. Beverly, not wanting to argue relented and walked with him. The path on the left had thick forest, and Beverly soon realized small, beady eyes watching their every move. Beverly was truly and sincerely scared and she walked to James who just proclaimed that the flashlights batteries were out of power. The quietly crept  down the path until a man with a man with a lantern shouts out to them, "What are you folks doing out here so late?"

James and Beverly were frightened by the man who was using a cane and had rotting teeth. He showed them the way back to his small home. The man simply stated that his name was Franz Wilhelm. They walked to the small and empty table where all three of them sat quietly until Franz started asking them questions, some in English others in German. James started answering them rapidly until Franz stopped him by saying, "I know enough."

Beverly then walked into the other room where two small beds were laid out. Beverly wondered why there were two but Franz answered by explaining that his daughter died many years prior and now the bed lay empty. Beverly solemnly paced around the warm fire until a ghost appeared in front of her. She screamed with great force that blew the ghost into the fire leaving a sticky residue where the ghost was. The goo however reformed into the spirit of a little girl who was Beverly's age. "Hello father Franz, have you been waiting for me?"

"Oh, Elise how long have I been waiting for your return!" Franz said with eyes full of sparkling tears that glowed like diamonds in the radiant sunlight.

James and Beverly were touched by this kindness radiating from Franz and Elise as they hugged but Franz fell flat on his face... He got up and began to stretch his back until Elise saw James and asked, "Who are the children father, who are they?"

Franz knew that if he told Elise that they were from the future, she would go ballistic so he lied vigorously. He chatted with Elise until she blew up, "I want the truth! Who are they!"

Franz then laid down on his bed and said to her, "Really I do not know, but will we throw them out in the cold if we do not! If you had died from hypothermia instead of a murderous man, would you feel the same!"

James and Beverly were very confused, but they knew not to interrupt the conversation. "Why did the man kill me, Franz!, WHY!" Elise screamed this and many other rude and unwieldy words to Franz. Franz then took his lantern and left for the forest that he so loved for its quiet nature. Elise then began to weep on the ground until her spirit withered into a heap of ghostly sludge. "We can help you Elise." Beverly and James spoke in unison.

Elise slowly reformed into her spirit self and began to float alongside Beverly and James who grabbed the second lantern and started to rush forward with the power of a thundering horse. James tripped however on the first step of out of the cabin. He fell flat on his face into the muddy, sludgy ground that was everywhere in the forest. He got up and began to jog in the cool air wiping the mud off his face and cleaning his ever dirty glasses. "Watch out for the!..." James slammed into a pine tree "Tree."

Elise quietly waltzed in the air waiting to see the light of her father's lamp. They did see it but it took them much time, at least seven hours of slow walking until they saw the lantern. Elise glided to Franz and upon impact, this time Franz fell flat on his face into the mud. Elise then tried to pull Franz up, but he got up by himself a minute later. Franz then quietly shivered because his heavy jacket blew off as he ran . Soon James and Beverly carried him, the six foot, three inch man he was. They carried him back and surprisingly they got back in twenty minutes. Elise then faded into the fire just as she came until nothing was left of her except a small blue flame in the fireplace. Franz mourned her daughter but decided that everyone should sleep. Franz slept on the ground so James and Beverly could have a warm bed close to the fire. They slept soundly for twelve hours until James woke up from his terrible dream that felt like it lasted an eternity to him. James awoke when he got cut by "The Black Man" with a extremely sharp knife until he bled to death. James woke with sweat on his pillow and then quietly arouse the others. Beverly awoke annoyed at James by saying, " I was trying to get my beauty sleep!"

Franz got up without question and began to get ready for the day, this included a change of clothes, and a quick bath from the well. James quietly took note that he was starving, and went to the table until Franz came back with eggs for cooking. Beverly helped him while James looked in awe at the blue flame, trying to figure how it works. Beverly then came back with two plates with eggs and sweetly said, "Come to the table there is juice too!"

James then trotted to the table and dug into his food, scrambled eggs with sausage and orange juice with a few assorted vegetables like peppers and tomatoes. Franz then grabbed a jug of beer from the icebox and took a swig. Then he ate his eggs with haste and began to get his cane and lantern because of the thick fog that rested throughout the forest. Franz then walked out with an axe and a cane. He began to chop the tree for firewood, but two German men then saw Beverly and James and charged toward Franz and put a pair of rusty, mangled handcuffs upon him. They talked in thick German and one of them took Franz away while the other handcuffed Beverly and James. Everything went black and James felt that he hit the ground, hard. He appeared in a medieval castle, but James did not know that. Beverly awoke in Constantinople, as the princess and heir to the throne. James felt an ache in his legs and his arms for that matter, and for some reason his neck? He opened his eyes and felt the stone floor and he realized he was in the dungeon! Beverly awoke in the softest of beds and one of the largest, in a beautiful dress. "Theodora! Get down here at this instant."

James felt a tug at his neck and he was on the ground, the wet, musty, overgrown ground that tickled his sore legs that he so wished to cut off. Food appeared at his feet and he looked at it, a carrot, some water, and a loaf of bread. He ate silently until a man with a enormous axe that gleamed in the moonlight that compared to his puny body could squish him like an ant. Beverly walked down in her scratchy gown that tugged on each of her limbs with unbearable force. She was saddened when she saw that James was not there. She felt a twinge of guilt but she saw something out of the corner of her eye a man that looked from the wrong time. She shook it off and then she saw a large man at least six feet tall with a crown and many guards around him. A beautiful lady laid on a small chair. "Theodora where have you been?" the man with the crown said.

"I'm right here Justinian." the lady said.

"I meant Theodora the second, dear Theodora."

Beverly shrunk down on the floor and wept tears of sadness that flooded her face and she then felt a feeling of hopelessness and she wept even more until the man and woman noticed the calamity that hit Beverly.

James unlocked his handcuffs and legcuffs with a little thinking and started to pace about his small little cell that was reeking with rats the size of your hand and water that dripped on his head. He started to unlock the door until a large German man came up and unlocked the door. He disappears when James turns away, then a book the size of a small laptop falls to the ground. It reads, 'Ancient Gaul Legends'. James remembers something from a far off history class, Gaul was what the Romans called France. He realized he was in medieval France with a book... He turned to the first page and was surprised to see that is was written in English he started reading the first legend called "The Time Stone", where a tale of epic proportions is told where a great king tells the master blacksmith to making him the legendary "Time Stone" which had the ability to travel through time, the king then lost the time stone where it went to the "Black Prince" who was an illegitimate heir to the kingdom, and at the end it is stated that the stone is on the crown of the King of France, who wields it's awesome powers for good. When he reaches the end of the legend, he realizes he needs to take the stone.

Beverly however was getting pampered with gifts but she still threw them out until Justinian, the emperor of Byzantium paced 'bout the throne room worried about "Theodora the second." Beverly snuck out of her bed and began to tiptoe about the palace halls, when she reached the Throne room she was astonished, she saw nothing! Then the guards noticed her out of bed and escorted her back to bed.

James lay in one of the vacant bedrooms while trying to execute a plan to take the stone. He soon realizes why not take it now! So lurches through the cold, empty halls that the executioner dragged his limp, swollen body through the hall making a show to everyone nearby. He then sees the book on the ground open to a page the didn't read, It said, 'Whoever bears the stone will die with it' James was spooked but crept on. The saw the executioner walking the halls with his axe the size of James's head, with blood dripping from its tip, it was horrifying, the man was at least seven feet tall with a black cloak that covered his face which was worn from war. James panicked and started to hyperventilate, he felt a shortness of breath and everything went black... Beverly laid in her bed but she still couldn't go to sleep. However she slowly drifted off into dreamland. In her dream she saw the black man and the foreign man just out of the corner of her eye. James awoke with a noose around his neck awaiting execution, the was saddened to know that the would never see Beverly again. Then a man in ragged clothes with long, ratty hair cut him loose. James thanked the man who must be another prisoner, he thought. James began to sneak out of the dungeon and reached the corridor, or should it say corridors? There were hundreds of corridors looping in and about each other designed by a lunatic architect, some were dead ends, one even looped around! James walked for what seemed like hours, but in real life was about thirty minutes, until the reached a door at least seventy feet tall and touched it. The door swung open and the saw the glorious city of Constantinople? The remembered a picture from history class that looked like the wonderful view, a blue sky you could get lost in, buildings with beautiful arches and curves, even a wall that towered over nearby buildings, the moat gleamed in the sunlight, like a ring of fire around the city. The saw the place but then the executioner came up to him and chopped his back wide open., The End. Just kidding, James was thirty feet in the air on a large balcony, and he could see the palace like a jewel shining under the sun. the wished the could fly until he realized the hadn't eaten in at least a day, so the took the rope from the noose and began to tie it to the balcony and SWOOSH! He jumped from the balcony and swung all the to the market, when he crashed into a merchant selling red apples. The merchant fell onto his cart and it began to roll down the street apples falling on the ground. James saw a large man and a beautiful lady strolling through the street. James thought that the girl looked familiar for some reason. Then it hit him, it was Beverly! Beverly went out with her father to go to the market and get some fresh air. Beverly was slowly walking until the apple catastrophe occurred when she started to speed up. James tried running to her, but tripped and fell into a street full of mud. People around James began to laugh and James began tocry with a mouth full of mud, he cried silently at first until a great noise could be heard from all about. He was through with it, he cried great tears because of what happened, to Franz, to Beverly, to him for that matter. He was through with it, as people began to crowd around him with his ragged clothes muddy face, and his teary eyes that told the whole story. Theodora, Justinian, and Beverly were all riding down the road in chariot. When Beverly saw James, but she knew she had to do something, and so she did. "Father, that boy looks like he needs a roof over his head." She spoke to him in despair.

"Then we will send him to the orphanage." He said steaming.

" He looks like he needs company Father." She pleaded

"There is company at the orphanage." He said to her, annoyed.

"I think we should take him in, for at least a day." Theodora pipped in.

There it was final, they took James into the chariot and rode off to the palace where Beverly was blowing off steam by telling really bad jokes like,

'Why did the chariot cross the road.' Justinian and Theodora were in stitches so James just went along laughing. They reached the palace but James found himself crouching because he saw the last person he would want to see, the executioner. He was talking to the general, and James overheard a few sentences like, 'Find the boy who committed high treason' and 'What day is it?' James hid and Beverly scooted over as they were cleared into the palace James got out and began to look in awe at the palace and mumbled, "I'm not in Nebraska anymore."

"What did you say dear?" Theodora said.

"Nothing, oh and my name is James."

Theodora had to go to a meeting as did Justinian so Beverly and James began to explore the palace, but first James got a change of clothes and went to get food and drink. Then the executioner took Beverly, with her screaming tugging at his arms took her. James started running through the halls trying to find someone that he could he talk to. He saw Justinian walking the halls he screamed, "They kidnapped Theodora, the executioner, he did it!"

Justinian was stunned, then he took great and utter action. He began to hound at guards and then went to Belisarius and told him to not let anyone leave the city. Beverly was cramped in a small bag that had little air until she was dumped out on a wooden table with at least ten men looking at her, all with vengeance in their eyes. Some were tall, most were tall actually and they all hated Justinian. They then started to talk amongst themselves while one of them tied Beverly down. A knock can be heard throughout the small building resonating off the walls. When one of the men opened the door there was a soldier with numerous battle scars running down his face, dark tanned skin, and most importantly a spear six feet tall in his arm. He asked them with a sneer if he could search the house. The men allowed this and then unluckily he uncovered Beverly and handcuffed everyone who was involved. Then Beverly disappeared and so did James! They appeared in a strange world full of vegetables? No just messing with you, they appeared in this story? Okay, okay they appeared on a cake. No I am not kidding, this is truthful. They landed inside a giant cake, but instantly were transported into medieval France, for real this time. James was Prince of France, although Beverly was betrothed to a man who was her friend, James! James awoke in a bed with Beverly in the next bed and he felt good but he still had no clue what time period he was in. James went into his closet and knew by then, the Middle Ages. James looked about the room and saw nothing as a man, the King of France barged into the room and James leaped into the closet just as he opened the door. He looked about the room and shut the door. James quickly opened the door in a full suit of armour. James then left the room without Beverly. He took the sword out of its sheath and walked down the hall of Chateau de Foix, a castle from medieval France. James then saw the man and he said, "Are you ready for the battle, Charles II." The King said.

"Yes sire." James said without hesitation.

They walked quietly to the stables where hundreds of horses resided. James picked a horse as white as snow who was gentle but fast. Then James rode off sword gleaming in the cool, morning air of France. He rode to an army camp where soldiers, tall and short, lean and lanky, large and in charge, every kind of soldier except a women. There were no women anywhere to be seen except for cooking the food at the small, thatched roofed building where the food was prepared for the some twenty thousand troops stationed there waiting for the command for battle against Aquitaine, who declared independence from France. James began his valiant with the men on horseback while infantry straggled behind holding the back of the army. They saw Aquitaine's army camping in a gorge. They flew down into the mouth of the gorge, slicing all who fled the site. People were bleeding on the ground while corpses lined the valley until they drove the army, now in disarray back to the hills. The infantry soon arrived and saw the havoc that just the cavalry reeked of Aquitaine's army. They camped in the gorge, using some of the tents that were not burned by the cavalry. James rested with the King, King Aubry II. James awoke to the sound of a crackling fire and of many soldiers laughing and eating due to their glorious victory from the previous day. Then hundreds of Aquitanian soldiers poured into the gorge with vengeance in their eyes. The French soldiers held their own and James leaped onto his horse and began to ride up and down the valley dicing each and every one of the soldiers. Other Frenchmen rode alongside him helping him destroy the Aquitaine ambush. They came out victorious but lost hundreds of their precious cavalry. James was celebrated at the dinner that night, getting a great deal of honor from his father, but something still nagged him, what happened to Beverly? James awoke the next morning to find them moving to another camp. They walked and rode almost fifty miles for the next twenty days, moving farther and farther south to Toulouse where their capital city. resided. Multiple times they fought the Aquitanians, and every time they won. He fought with great valor at at the battle of Nice. He fought within the whirling cavalry who killed every single soldier who opposed the French occupation of Aquitaine. James then was stabbed in the back and so he was hospitalized for many weeks. Beverly however the whole time was getting ready for James's return which was at the end of the war. James returned battle worn a year after his arrival. He then fought in another war, but returned after he was heavily injured. They soon found themselves in a spiral of events that led them home.

They woke up back in Basilica around a hoard of fallen zombies, with a few ghosts lurking about. Just as they thought it was peaceful, the zombies shook and BOOM!, the bones of the zombies reformed into creatures, gargantuan and microscopic. The largest was 75 feet tall and cantered toward them but a great noise seemed to cut through the darkness as a ghost stopped the massive monster. He was a man that towered over Beverly and James who were 4'11'' and 5'4'' respectively. He was at least 6 and a half feet tall, wearing long pants with a T-shirt, and looked vaguely familiar to James. He started to mumble something, but the gigantic creature, being slowed by the man but not stopped once again charged at them with smaller creatures fusing into the beast, not to mention how the monster's head had broken through the theater's roof and now collapsed just as Beverly leaped out of the door, but James had came out seconds after Beverly and was caught in the dust cloud. Coughing and gagging James fell to the ground. He fell unconscious and began his trek through his mind. Strange things lurked about but a meeting was assembled. The main parts of his personality were assembling a meeting to govern the brain once again. There were, Courage, Intelligence, Hospitality, and the weakest deceitfulness. They all were arguing to see who would be ruler of the brain. Courage was once the ruler but recent events toppled his power, now Courage and Intelligence were battling it out. Courage was overall stronger but there was nothing Intelligence couldn't do. James woke up just as the walls collapsed around the building, just as the creature stood up again. The mysterious man reached to them and said, "Who are you two?"

"Our names are James and Beverly Xavier." James muttered.

Just as he finished his sentence the beast came right at them but the ghost ran at it and punched it in the skull. The beast quivered and quaked and then fell as a ginormous pile of bones. That did not save them however as smaller creatures merged together slowly making another creature.

"RUN!"

The man simply stated, "I am your father."

There was not much time to get out as a quicker creatures snagged Beverly's legs and took her away.

"Beverly!" James screamed.

Beverly was gone, but he still had his father, the late Robert Xavier.

"We have to go after her, it's the only way." Robert stated.

"I guess so," James said with teary eyes. "What is going to happen to her."

Robert quickly explained that they would turn her into a ghost, but because of her female gender they would make her their queen.

"Oh No!" James gasped.

James tried to be brave, but worry took over his heart, he realized he needed supplies. He rushed to the first house to the right of him with flashlight in hand. He found a relatively new backpack and two flashlights. He decided that this was all he needed. He ran back to Robert, arms full. He then put the flashlights in his backpack, except the one he was carrying.

"Let's do this." James stated bravely.

He rushed forward scanning every crevice for bones that could be watching him, and there were some but the light produced by the flashlight burned them into a pile of charred ash. He had to do something bold but nothing came to mind, he did not even know where Beverly was. It was hopeless because Beverly would turn into a ghost in the morning, but James didn't know that, or did he? Robert was dead, but he could summon his bones at will to make a creature, a small one of course. James felt as we was being stalked, and he was by the black man, or was he a ghost, the one that knocked Beverly and James and brought them to Basilica. James felt the urge to go to the ruins of Fuller's Films and poke around, but Robert warned him saying, " Think of the dust cloud what'll it do to you, kill you genius! If you stay here, you will be safe."

"No, I have to go!" Pleaded James.

Robert then agreed, and James reluctantly ran off. What he saw frightened James to the bone, armies of creatures, large and small were guarding the rubble and in the middle in a rib cage was Beverly. There were battles however, two mummies, one most likely Roger and the other someone else. James joined them using his flashlight to vaporize skeletons. "Hello, My name is H-oo-ward, the mummy."

James fought for Beverly and for Robert who was staying behind to watch for other dangerous entities. James was alone as the mummies fled leaving wrapping behind. Just as the mummies ran, the giant creature awakened, carrying Beverly in her cage, screaming loudly. Suddenly however the mummies Roger and Howard returned with oil lamps strangely. James ignored them and tried to flash the light onto the beast, but another monster leaped up and latched onto the flashlight, getting vaporized in the process. James was powerless until he saw the mummies with the lamps. They were using them to burn rubble making even more light and heat to destroy creatures. It wasn't enough as the clock tower rang 12 times. James started to climb onto the beast, but failure was imminent the creature transformed into a ginormous snake-like creature with 30 foot fangs, giant vertebrae with 50 foot spikes, and giant ribs where Beverly hung from one of the bones screaming for her life. Just as he thought it was hopeless, the mummies appeared out of the blue saving James by sacrificing them and collapsing to the rubble in a heap of dirty bandages. James felt like crying, but the heap reformed into one giant mummy who said with unshakable force, "My name is Liam, and I will destroy Beora, the great bone creature of the night."

Liam tried but he was only 20 feet tall and Beora was 500 feet long. Liam fought hard with valor, but within five minutes he was pinned as Beora changed form into the two hundred fifty foot tall behemoth and with enormous claws and new skin from the rubble that made it look as if a new creature, but the skin was only an illusion as James found himself the only one as Liam was getting eaten but James could still Beverly's screams from within. James ran with all his might, in leaps and bounds pushing forward to reach Beora. James with all of his effort leaped into Beora shattering the illusion, but ironically he smashed into a bone. Once again he tried and he succeeded going inside of Beora as Liam was freed from the jaws of the beast. James rushed to the small cage where Beverly was weeping softly, not even noticing James had arrived. He lept from on rib to the next using the smaller bones up top like monkey bars on a playground. When James reached Beverly, she thought she was hallucinating when she said, " James is that you?"

He answered quietly as Liam pulled one of the teeth from Beora. He jammed the door with a loose tailbone which then collapsed Beora's tail, losing balance and collapsing to a giant heap. Everything started to rumble and then millions upon millions of tiny creatures emerged, some the size of a penny, others 10 feet tall, but Liam held off the storming herd of Beorites, or tiny Beora. James and Beverly ran through the dark and dank Basilica when Roger and Howard appeared behind them groaning, "Liam couldn't hold up, we fell."

The kept running as once again Robert met up with them as a skeleton, charging into the ever-changing herd of Beorites. robert was torn into a least two hundred pieces getting formed into horns and other non-moving parts. James started to sprint with Beverly. Roger and Howard split into their wrapping piles and sank into the earth, rising up as giant earth mummies each at least seven hundred feet, leaving large craters in their wake. Roger ran towards the charging herd smashing everything in his way. James and Beverly just in the nick of time ran out of the gate, and it slammed behind them. James and Beverly ran the almost four miles to their home on Roadrunner Lane, changing into their pajamas and try to forget the whole event.

For years to come James and Beverly would see the black man, that knocked them out. Once in a seafood restaurant, another at the park, even one time during school, peeking in waiting for the next time to strike. He never did however and they lived a happy life, reproducing and eventually dying a happy life. They always wondered what happened to Basilica, but they knew they filed a suit to demolish the site and they succeeded bringing it down, but this was a bad choice and ghosts then haunted the whole town for three years and they targeted Beverly and James but they were shielded from further harm. This is a letter from James to Beverly when James when he got a grant to build a museum on Basilica grounds:

Dear Beverly,

You must have heard that I got the grant, but remember what happened when we were children in Basilica, you must remember it is in the utmost importance as we must share our memory to make a book about experience in Basilica.

Sincerely,

James Xavier

This was Beverly's reply:

Dear James,

In the letter enclosed I have included the main points and details of the "Basilica" situation, I would like to thank you for giving nine percent of your profits through the business really helped me stay afloat during college.

Love,

Beverly
